Aryna Sabalenka 10.00 to win Tianjin Bet365 each way
Looking at the side of the draw opposite to Sharapova, it is wide open. Zhu then McHale/Errani is entirely doable. The risk is that she is a tad younger and still a ball basher but will favor a mini-Sharapova of sorts against mid tier WTA players especially with her playing for form into the Fed Cup final in a couple weeks

Backing Ostapenko match @ $2.00
(low) Barty to win first set but lose match @ $7.50 Bet365
Ostapenko has a decent opportunity to nab another title and with a title will guarantee a spot in Singapore with the title, though if she does lose she will 99% qualify. Ostapenko lost first round in Beijing in 2016 so she doesn't have any points to defend next week and both her and Barty have been given byes into the second round. Given the other side of the draw is Sakkari/Garcia, feeling she will have her eyes firmly set on back to back titles.
Ostapenko's service hasn't been brilliant and has taken time to work back into matches quite often, and Barty is someone who will push Julia around the court with technique and probably see longer exchanges but the current winning mentality of Ostapenko and physically she seems to be much stronger. One problem with Barty, technically gifted, but sometimes she has too many options to play and I think it will cost her with the lack of winning experience late on in tournaments. Ostapenko will play the same aggression and with the same mental toughness and I will back her.

Ostapenko - Barty odd's opened at 1.80 Ostapenko 2.10 Barty but in the space of 30 minutes Barty has changed to favourite on Bet365
Ostapenko finished her match around midnight. Barty had played singles and doubles on same day but obviously finished much earlier. Match will start "not before" 5:30pm local time
Ostapenko played 5 x 3 set matches in the space of 6 days spanning Korean Open and Wuhan with just a days rest inbetween but Barty has played 2 doubles matches this week with her 4 matches, 3 of which went to 3 sets too
Liking the look of 21.5 over.

Sabalenka won but the second set was hardly plain sailing. Too many unforced errors. Sabalenka has the power but the inconsistency and doesn't seem to provide any slices or drop shots, not much variety to her game. Similar to Ostapenko in that she seems to go for it but Ostaoenko's margin of error is much better
She faces Kozlova next
Great calls on Ostapenko and Sakkari BTW

Maria Sakkari +3.5 games @1.83 with bet365
Jelena Ostapenko to WIN 1st set and win the match @1.90 with bet365
Garbine Muguruza -5.5 games @1.72 with bet365 (be careful with this one as yesterday Muguruza had small injury with left hip)
Good Luck!

Sabalenka looked very good v Rodina. Her serve was excellent and such power. Rodina was hampered by her injury but doesn't take away from how good Sabalenka was. She should be too good for Maria in the next round
I'm having backing Puig @ 2.00 purely based on the long late finish for Peng and Puig is going to have bags on movement and energy.

Sabalenka is opening at 2.05 v Maria so I will back her at that price. Seeing her service and power from the back of the court today, I think Maria will have troubles containing her especially with the lack of power from what I've seen from Maria.

She's young and hungry though. I was looking at the match, thinking that I'd back Strycova at 2.50, but that's not happening by the looks of things. The odds are probably correct.

Su-Wei Hsieh to beat Kristyna Pliskova at 2.50 with Paddy Power
Shuai Zhang to beat Karolina Pliskova 3.50 with William Hill
Kristyna has no form whatsoever, while Karolina is without a coach and played poorly in Tokyo. Both Hsieh and Zhang are tricky enough to give them trouble, so I'm going to take my chances at odds this big.

I'll be backing Ostapenko - Kumkhum under 20.5 games @ $1.90 (Bet365)
Kumkhum getting this far has been a decent run but Ostapenko no matter if younger than Cirstea, is on a much higher level. He relentless attack will be able to see this one through in under 21 like she has done so far this tournament to higher ranked and more experienced WTA circuit players

Shuai Zhang (-3.5) to beat Evgeniya Rodina at 1.72 with Bet365
A simple repeat of the previous bet, nothing to add. Zhang should just be way too strong for Rodina.

You think that is bad. Try what I just experienced in the Challenger tournament in Poland
Alexander Bury (Ranked 1600 in the world, ranked over 100 in doubles, in 30s) v Dustin Brown (105 in the world) on clay and past finalist in this tournament
The handicap is set at 18.5 games
Brown takes 1st set 6-3, he is 5-0 up. Throws 4 straight games with some half effort trick shots. Then has no problem serving it out to cover the over 18.5 games by 0.5 margin
Brown won 6-3 6-4 (was 5-0 up in 2nd set)

Anyone looking at Konjuh 2.10 v Azarenka (Bet365 odds)
Azarenka sneaking past Ozaki was extremely lucky to say the least and given her lack of match experience recently 2.10 seems decent for Konjuh
Having said that Konjuh's matches haven't been easy for punters especially on her serve

Happy New Year to you Czech Punter, BOL with your picks again this year
Would you have any insight into the Czech Republic Hopman Cup opening matches. Any value in the match ups?
Hradecka called up to replace Kvitova and faces Coco Vandeveghe, from patches I saw last year of both they seem to be vulnerable on the second serve and can mentally drift out of matches?
and Pavlasek v Sock

Opening bet of year, not big stakes mind simply because not worth it at this time
Bojana Coric 2/1 v Hyeon Chung @ ATP Chennai Bet365
Bojana Coric was a finalist last year and produced some decent performances v some bigger names throughout the year on the hard court surface whilst Chung played majority of his on the challenger. I don't understand these odds unless we believe Chung has the advantage of playing a few matches in qualifying

Been watching the Pliskova (Kr) match v Hsieh and you're spot on with your analysis here Czech punter mate. The variety in Hsieh's game with the slices and drop shots and her agility is superior to Kristina on this surface. Most people would have automatically thought "Pliskova on home soil" but Hsieh has been value for money. The only problem I've had with Hsieh throughout her career is her service can be questionable but today she has stepped up.
I jumped on after she won the 2nd set @ 2.50 and have you to thank in big part.

Back Karolina Pliskova to win WTA Prague for a 4/10 stake at 6.00 with Bet365
Back Su-Wei Hsieh to beat Kristyna Pliskova for a 7/10 stake at 3.20 with Paddy Power
Back Yanina Wickmayer to beat Camila Giorgi for a 7/10 stake at 1.95 with BetVictor
Karolina Pliskova looks like the big favourite in Prague to me, did well in Stuttgart and won this event last year as well. Her sister, however, could easily go down against Hsieh in the very first round, while I also fancy Wickmayer to beat Giorgi (like she did last year).

Back Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to win WTA Linz for a 2/10 stake at 17.00 with Bet365
Back Andreea Mitu to beat Lucie Safarova for a 4/10 stake at 6.50 with BetVictor
Back Carina Witthoeft to beat Margarita Gasparyan for a 7/10 stake at 1.85 with BetVictor
Fancy Pavlyuchenkova, good price, good draw, and the conditions should suit her. Safarova will play her first match after a long illness, so Mitu is worth a small punt at 6.50 in my opinion. On Monday, Witthoeft looks like a good bet to me, better player than Gasparyan and perhaps the conditions should be in her favour as well.
