  1. Re: Ashes - In play/Discussion thread Great inns by BELL another Century, anchor man Again!, Hopefully Bairstow can follow up... I still think its a 400 wicket, At this moment 262-4...........Just tilting back in Englands fav......BTW her Majesty, Studied DRS...and said ROOT hit the ball first..TRUE...:eek

  2. Re: Ashes - In play/Discussion thread Almost Lunch on day1, 2nd Test, Most definitely Australia's morning, This is a 400 wicket IMO..So Bell n Trott have some work to do, They really need to get to 160 by Tea without losing another wicket, Then it will start to become back to level...At the moment Australia should be FAV...However these two can bat along time on this type of wicket....Lunch score...79-3

  3. Re: The Ashes

Few more to go with the England win. 4pts B.Haddin's Performance Pts - 95&Over 5/6 Bet365 Points are scored as follows: 1pt per run, 10pts per catch & 25pts per stumping. Brad Haddin was one of the Australian's who came out of the first test with his head held high. In performance terms he scored 132 points but his second innings of 71 runs almost got Australia home. I would expect him to go just as well in this match. When Australia played England here in 2009, Haddin made a knock of 80 on his way to a total of 138pts so he has history at Lords. I expect him to score runs here and take catches. The slope should help the bowlers find the thin edges which Haddin can pouch while he is more than good enough technically to deal with that and score a few runs. With the likes of Watson and Agar bowling he might get a stumping along the way as well so this 95pt target is well within his reach. 3pts No six on Day 1 Evs Sportingbet There has been four tests since a six was hit on the opening day of a test match at Lords and there's no obvious reason while that will change here as the two bowling attacks are good enough to keep their opposing batting line up under pressure. The only six we saw on the opening day at Trent Bridge was when Steve Smith came down the wicket and surprised Swann late in the day but that's a much smaller ground than this one. England only really have Pietersen as a genuine test match six hitter these days and if Australia lose a couple of early wickets they may well rein themselves in so that they're not out cheaply again. Obviously a swinging tail ender could scupper the plans but on a normal day of cricket I'm not convinced we'll see a six on the opening day. 3pts C.Rogers to beat J.Root (1st Inns Only) Evs Paddy Power Lords has been Chris Rogers' home ground for the last god knows how many years and he's filled his boots there on a number of occasions for Middlesex, some of them this season, so he should have a good vibe about HQ. Joe Root isn't a regular at Lords and it can take some getting used to and he's still getting used to opening the batting at this level as well. He didn't look as composed as he could have at Trent Bridge and I'm sure he'll be tested with a few full balls coming back down the slope early in his innings in this match. Rogers loves batting here and I think he can outscore Root in the first innings here, like he did the second innings at Trent Bridge. 1pt S.Broad Man of the Match 16/1 Stan James I've already landed this punt on this ground once this season so at the price it's worth going for the double. In two of his last three tests here Broad has 7 wickets in an innings and he also has his career best score with the bat on this ground so it is clearly a ground he enjoys bowling at. He took the Kiwis apart here with a magical spell earlier in the summer so he should have lots of good vibes. I know he's patriotic so meeting the Queen on the opening day should inspire him even more and at 16/1 he's in the game enough to have a genuine shot at the man of the match award here.
Broad I have backed, he does perform well there.....Great Shout!
  4. Re: Friends Life T20 2013

Wednesday night preview: 4pts Northants to beat Somerset 13/10 Bet365 I’m a big believer that bowling attacks win T20 matches and there’s no comparison in these two bowling attacks. I’m also a big believer that Somerset are nothing like the same side away from Taunton that they are at Taunton. Northants have a much more capable and competent batting line up and their bowling attack is very good, constantly putting sides under pressure throughout their innings. With the form they are in I like the hosts here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/northamptonshire-vs-somerset-betting-northants-can-hit-top-spot-with-win-over-somerset-20130716
WD good shout....Your so right about bowling attacks in T20...even in a under15 area final last night, my sons club,,bowled first, 120-3...When they batted 2nd they were ahead of the count till the after the 16th..99-3,,22 off 4 req, job done you may think... 2 wickets in the 17th, 1 wicket in the 18th, 1 wicket in the 19th...12 off the last over req...Fell short by 5...Yes bowling attacks, worked out the right way..Can always hold the upper hand!.:(
  5. Re: The Ashes

Cheers. Thought I'd get in at a decent price. Don't see the point in waiting for the toss and risking a worse price because the Lords wicket stays flat for 5 days. Best team will win and that should be us.
I agree about the pitch..If England bat they wont Lose..Im confident of that,,,Im sure they will bat if they win the toss, However if Australia bat first....?????????
  6. Re: The Ashes

Second test preview: 4pts England to win 2nd Test 10/11 Coral I expect this match to go much the same way as the first Test. The wicket should be similar and it will be hard work for the quick bowlers, especially in the second half of the match. The Lords wicket never breaks up so there will be no hard luck stories here, the best team will win and by virtue of a much more stable and more reliable batting line up I think that side is England and they can pick up a 50th win at Lords this week. Gl with that, im waiting for the toss..:ok
  7. Re: BBOTD - Wednesday 17th July 6.20 WORCESTER...BASODA..11/2 WH..and others...Now we have two at the front of the market who are carrying big penalties, neither have convincing form to back up...So Basoda, comes into it, loves the ground and distance, I don't think he is a Kempton specialist...has run well on Left tracks, and has won twice off around this mark, I reckon he will get dragged into the race here and win going away..NAP bet for me.

  9. Re: British Open~18th-21st July

Yup leave the hole in 1 alone is correct mate. The Par 3's range from 180 yards to 225 yards, on a links course where you can't get back spin on the ball. Forget about it. By the way, MASSIVE value on the market. Hole in One : Yes = 8/11 Hole In One : No = 11/10 I'd take the 11/10 all day long.
Did not realize it had gone that low...amazing....your right about the 11/10 imo.
  10. Re: British Open~18th-21st July

sorry im new to golf betting...just wanted to know how common hole in one are? do u have one every year or something? i know its a stupid question hehe
That bus has gone...long gone m8, there were some clever people in the early 80's.....STATO...off the telly in particular...who took them to the cleaners on hole in one betting...Ladbrokes, still feel the pain every time you mention it..:rollin..Seriousley they used to offer 66..50...40..For a hole in 1 at a major champ.....for the whole comp....your lucky to get 7/2 now.....The value is long gone m8,,leave it alone..:ok
  11. Re: Laying an acumulator

Thanks for the info primevil, although slightly cryptic I tried a couple of new strategies today putting into practice what you stated, hey guess what, they worked, 5 lays out of 5, looked at graphs on bet angel ten mins before the off, identified big drifters in top three, listened to comments on timeform radio and sussed out were most of the money was going, the closest I got to losing was one horse coming in third. One thing I really would like to know, were would you get the info for the right jockey and stable?

  12. Re: Nickf88's Lays

Niceonemyson wins by a neck. Definitely have to lay at shorter prices if I do take this on properly or results like that would wipe out weeks/months of good work
