  1. Re: The Jockey Thread

I don't like to engage in jockey bashing for being rubbish however,I have to agree he has seemingly declined of late.I backed him in a couple of races today and was disappointed with the outcome of his riding performances. He used to be very competent, maybe it's the horses he's riding.
nothing wrong with the horse...I seen those races..poor effort...he will be forgotten about soon..his agent must be really struggling even the Dunlop yard are seeing him for what he is.....WEAK VERY WEAK
  2. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread

Regarding the ride at Ballinrobe if the trainer told the jockey to stop the horse and the jockey made a mess of it then he deserved the punishment in addition to what he got from the trainer. The stable is going well at the moment and in a similar race on similar ground I will definitely be on. I don't know whether the horse was suspended but he should have been
No joe no horse suspended...Jockey took the whole hit...Puzzles me..Young kid taking all that...Any how...couple of maidens in the festivals coming up...maybe then, maybe the time after.....Galway looks prime
  3. Re: ST NICHOLAS ABBEY...RETIRED...INJURY After a lengthy surgery to fuse the pastern St Nicholas Abbey is recuperating in intensive care at John Halley’s Fethard Equine Hospital. Surgery was carried out at Fethard Equine Hospital in consultation with Dr Dean Richardson, Head of Surgery at New Bolton Centre Pennsylvania, along with Ger Kelly and Tom O’Brien. St Nicholas Abbey will remain in intensive care for some time and has many bridges to cross before he is considered out of danger. This morning he is well and comfortable and back enjoying his hay! We are lucky he is so fit and has a marvellous attitude and temperament which will be vital for his long recovery.

  4. Re: Significant upgrading of races, over the next several months.

Aaah Presenting, my ante post gamble on the St Ledger, think he was fav or second fav when he was withdrawn two days before the start time. Many St Ledger horses have subsequently become NH sires.
DENMAN my friend..:ok...Watch out for SHOLOKHOV's off spring out of Glenview stud....3-4 years some good jump horses I reckon coming along for the jump scene...Put him in your notes
  5. Re: Back A 4/1+ Winner In The 4.20 Catterick And Get A Free Bet For 8.20 Leicester They used to have 1 shop in Merseyside..Sold out to Coral, Those were the days, They would stand bets up to a decent amount in the shop, great firm for that I have to agree...Only 5 years ago, they went pure online, don't think they have many if any shops now....My point was that if I was boss of that trade room, I would kill the competition with this sort of offer...Keep the clever punters, you have the advantage on the opposition..Yes of course you have to restrict to a certain extent..but £50 max aint gonna kill them, easy enough to offload...Good for turnover..and lets face it, your only talking about a small percentage of races per week....and you keep the business for the other races....See what happened was all bookmakers hated anyone getting the jump on them with arbing...It was like a cardinal sin....So anyone getting the best of it, was getting a black mark........I would love 365 to give an amnesty, with clear indicators....to how individuals can bet....not restricted to £1.82p..WTF....Id be happy with £50 max...we are going to be wrong that's for sure, but we may go on a run of 8-10...but don't see these accounts as profit/loss..lay them all off....That will produce good publicity by word of mouth and sites like PL who promote...They would have the big 4 on their knees within a couple of months..so far as racing is concerned..BET 365 would be king!..But if you are new and you play it right as previous posters say...you will get a nice few bob out of this promotion, but if you do nothing else.and just abuse this ...the Coup De Gras awaits...:ok

  6. Re: Problem on Post Site ? Just use oddschecker m8..not exact science..at least you get most firms....However...Just go to betfair, the benchmark for all prices:ok...Every bookmaker does...In fact do they have odds compilers anymore?...I go off post....sorry........The RP has gone downhill in the last year or two...why people subscribe is beyond me. :eek

  7. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread See,,,i would have thought the stewards would have asked for samples etc...but im struggling to find anything.. if anything was asked for, surely punters need to know something...to my weak eye..id say she was in season....but the last time they brought AOB up for not being forthcoming with info ...he was found guilty...and fined 130 euros....:rollin

  8. Re: Significant upgrading of races, over the next several months. If you have not worked it out yet...Why they have done this in both codes...in recent times....Bloodstock colts n mares....The small paddocks will have a chance against the big boys...Black type in particular.....Over the Jumps, many decent horses have flat blood in their line....The BHA will have seen what may happen in particular with bloomfields.

  9. FOUR jumps races were upgraded from Grade 2 to Grade 1 status on Tuesday, including the Jewson Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. The Mildmay Novices' Steeple Chase and the Mersey Novices' Hurdle, both at Aintree's Grand National meeting, and the bet365.com Celebration Chase at Sandown in April were the other upgraded races. A further four races were upgraded to Grade 3 status and five were boosted to Listed status, including first black type jumps races for Carlisle and Musselburgh. The submissions for upgrade were discussed by the BHA's jump racing committee at a meeting on July 3. Ruth Quinn, director of racing at the BHA, said: "The jump racing committee recently considered a number of applications for upgrade and we’re really pleased to be able to support four races being promoted to Grade 1." The upgrades bring the total of Grade 1 races at the Cheltenham Festival to 13, while the Grand National meeting can boast of 10. Simon Claisse, clerk of the course at Cheltenham and the Jockey Club's regional head of racing for the South West, said the Jewson upgrade reflected "the depth of strength in the race". Aintree also had two races upgraded from Listed to Grade 3 status: a 2m4f handicap hurdle at the National meeting in April and the early-season Grand National trial the Betfred Becher Steeple Chase. The other races upgraded to Grade 3 status were the Paddy Power Imperial Cup at Sandown in March and the Ladbroke at Ascot in December, both 2m handicap hurdle races. The John Oaksey National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival was granted Listed status along with the Shloer Chase (Cheltenham, November), the Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase (Carlisle, October), the William Hill Hurdle (Kempton, October) and the John Smith's Scottish Triumph Hurdle (Musselburgh, February).

  10. Re: BBOTD tuesday 23rd july 6.05 FFOS LAS 5F Maiden....Golden Spear..11/8 Corals..Paddy Power...One run, gentle intro, against a horse that won well in a novice event last week..possibly G3 candidate....Golden Spear is the one with potential here, the rest are selling platers for me...Should be FAV imo, no doubt about that!.

  11. Re: Club Friendlies 2013 Tonight....Chesterfield v Wolves....evens Wolves...Poor price, the 5/2 for the home side sticks out with betvictor..I would be laying wolves...but no liquidity there..if it kicks up,,ill lay them, Chesterfield should have a first 11 out tonight..Wolves however are taking a total mixture of 18, so they say, a lot of fringe players...I know you cant tell till they turn up...But at this stage I favour the home side at the price.

  12. Re: League Two 2013/14 > Winner This has to be a money making league for me..Plenty of loans going on in this league from top clubs, do your homework, and you wont go wrong. At this moment Chesterfield are taking my eye, with their new players, and I like the manager, he gets the best out of his players, 3 or 4 would get in Championship squads for me, and several more in Div 1...They play wolves tonight..n sheff wed on Saturday to finish off..You would think he would try to get as close to his first team as possible for these two home games...close to 9/1 on Betfair..for the title.
