  1. Re: BBOTD - Saturday 29th June Before I get to P£$$£d...better put this up..................PEARL ICE. 2.40 NEWCASTLE 10/1 Paddy Power, plus a few others. ...Off 90 today, perfect flat track, perfect underfoot conditions...Peal Ice has had a light carear for a 5yo..bought for a pretty penny from mark prescotts...He must be ready today to bolt up here, I don't see anything coping with the turn of foot...A banker ew, lets hope he wins.

  2. Re: The Saturday Lucky 15 Thread

Crackentorp~ Not at best of late but likes it here and ground was too firm lto. Price way to big for last years 2nd. Pearl Ice~Back on last winning mark likes cut in the ground which should be the case here jockey riding very well at present. Intransigent~Decent on the AW yet to win on turf but imo will do alright on it in time Jimmy Fortune back on today which is a plus and ill be surprised if its aloud to go off anywhere near its current price of 14/1. Victoire De Lyphar~Really good mark likes it here has won twice over CD top jock booked. Really like these four tomorrow so hoping for a decent return. Good Luck All.
Im following you in L15, gl and thanks

7.45 Newcastle MAGICAL MACEY 8/1 CORAL BETFRED.....Now this very soft ground has come' date=' this pacey horse must have a very good chance of seeing them off tonight, Nailed on ew now for me. Can turn the form around with the FAV for me. Has won off a 4lb lower mark.[/quote'] That was needed...also had a bit of the rev f/c with the FAV..nice return.

Its an easy game to manipulate over there....EG..A top G1 winner in Europe' date=' has an off day in a G2 or even a G1 in Ireland, being major odds on, and beaten by a stable companion, who in reality would never get to winning a G1 or G2 on a level playing field...But when that horse is shipped to Australia or wherever its standing, the cover value doubles, for the top pattern race win...Its all about money and finding the right opportunity for this to happen, I can think of several occasions when a major odds on AOB has finished 2nd or 3rd to one of his others in a top pattern race, Its happened in the rest of Europe a couple of times, but not at extreme odds on prices. Double bubble for the breeding trade, and if people are in the loop, they get paid big on the day. These are my assumptions, and I have no evidence, however it happens to many times for my pessimistic mind.[/quote'] 7.30 CURR....FLYING THE FLAG...The only 1 of the 3 not to win a GROUP race, this entire has just trebled his stud fee.....EASY STUFF...when you hold all the aces.

  6. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread

Just got back from work to see that the clerk of the course at Newcastle has watered the ground fairly heavily throughout the week and now that it has rained, the going has become good to soft, soft in places! Absolute joke and when I checked the BHA website last night they were predicting showers but still watered the course. Haggas isnt happy either: LEADING trainer William Haggas has hit out at the decision by the racecourse management at Newcastle to water the track in the run up to the John Smith's Northumberland Plate. Haggas, who is due to saddle leading fancy Sun Central in Saturday's £150,000 contest, said he was "livid" that clerk of the course James Armstrong had chosen to water prior to rain falling. Armstrong had around 7mm of water on the track during the week, but with up to 13mm of rain expected to fall during Friday the going is now good to soft, soft in places. "I am absolutely livid with this fellow putting water on when everyone could see there was a chance of rain so I shall pull him out if it's soft," Haggas said. "I have a runner in the first tonight. I have sent Sun Central there but he won't run if it's soft." Richard Fahey is set to be represented by Address Unknown and Ingleby Spirit in the Plate and he too is concerned by the change in underfoot conditions. "At the 48-hour stage the going was good," said Fahey. "Nobody could have predicted this. All week all we've been listening about is horses coming out because of the firm ground. "I am sure if we had made the decision at 10am this morning we would have a different race. That's the way the system is and that's what we've got to live with."
ILE DE RE Connections must think he is a shoe in now for a place....12/1 with PADDY POWER, First 4...for me, im happy with all the rain!

Ok, my tuppence. Why on earth would Aidan O'Brien try make sure Moth lost last night? This horse ran in the Oaks and the 1000 Guineas. Do some people on here think Aidan was laying the horse on Betfair or something? What exactly would Aidan have to gain from pulling the horse up in a €50,000 Listed race? I would love to be enlightened, because the horse has gone from competing in Group 1's to getting mullered in a Listed race, the value of the horse would have decreased a heck of a lot after that effort 2 days ago. Just because his "outsider" wins, it had to be a fiddle? Again, in my opinion, people get too caught up on price. Moth was what, 2/5 or something like that? The winner 8/1.. For all you or I know, the winner that was 8/1 is a better horse than Moth, no? Aidan doesn't control prices, he trains his horses, and lets them run, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever why Aidan would pull Moth up in a race. He firstly doesn't need money, and secondly why would he decrease the value of his animal, afterall the money is in the breeding. Why I am a bit annoyed about this, is this reason.. Now, I do not know Aidan O'Brien, or any of his family..... But, I do know people who do know him, and I know one person that knows him very well. And from what I have heard, and from his manner on and off the track, Aidan O'Brien is an absolute gentleman, one of the sports absolute treasures, racing would be in a bit of bother without him imo, he loves the public, never shy's away from the camera, and for some clueless people that don't know him, or even know Irish racing for that matter, to accuse him of being corrupt, is absolutely laughable. I sincerely doubt there is anybody with more integrity in the sport today that O'Briens operations. Of course, Irish racing is corrupt, as is British. However, UK racing cannot survive without Irish racing. We have better horses, better jockeys, and the best trainers. Cheltenham is such a huge success every year because of the Irish. Royal Ascot is so successful because of the Irish, even the Queen's Gold Cup winner, Estimate, is an Irish horse. The Irish supplied the Queen her long-lost winner. Don't hate the Irish, love us.
I could argue every point you have put up here, There is so much you say *thru rose tinted*, however I fear that you would not agree with any of the points I may come up with. Your last paragraph shows you are staunch in your views, and I cant be arsed hitting my head against a brick wall, However I do believe there is no one in this sport that is clean, but to put AOB backers and stable clean above all in Europe is just laughable.
  8. Re: The Jockey Thread

You know nothing about Irish racing' date=' so your remarks about Irish racing are actually hilarious.[/quote']Im pleased I amuse you..Be careful your head don't get stuck in the sand.

  10. Re: The Jockey Thread The most astonishing...and perhaps annoying thing about MOTH......1....Our intrepid reporter on atr had a 5 min interview with him(JOB), and asked him every question under the sun, I thought he was even going to ask him how is love life was going. But never touched on the MOTH race.....WELL AND TRUELY DODGED, guess he was told to stay away from the subject, In fact he must have been told, surely he aint that thick! .....2. The jockey of the winner, is no saint, he has a very suspect past,,,,,not me guessing, its all there in black n white.......DONT QUESTION THE MAFIA in Ireland, you;ll be a marked man...That is what has come out of this race, You really need your head checking if you back in Irish races.

  11. Re: The Jockey Thread

Didn't back either one - hope you did (Darwin anyway!) - but I did have Moth down as a 2/5 chance when Boyles were showing 8/11 last night - albeit briefly. Load of bollocks! Maybe they'll get away with blaming the ground even though JOB only managed to find enough room over 4f to pick up the whip once!!! Maybe the sport woudl be better if horses were trained to chase a hare or whatever - like greyhounds - and then there would be less human interference etc!! At the start of that sentance I thought I was joking but now I think about it, it would actually make sense!!! lol
NA did have a go...IRISH racing is a no go area now..a law to themselves. I would rather have a go a Indian Racing. Had a couple of bets on Bowens horses today, Honest trainer whose horses are all having a go. But that im sure that will take a nose dive soon. There was a race at Worcester today, the winner is entered up a few times in the next week, so long as the ground don't change its worth following.....Also LAMBORO LAD Sunday, must have a great chance if he gets in..gl m8
  12. Re: The Jockey Thread

1930 Naas.... I can't be arsed to watch a replay of that shambles and I suspect Moth will be reported as being struck into or carrying an injury. COULD be the worst ride in history.... I don't think so but I'll let Erhaab take a look first!! :rollin
Job done..by the MAFIA...Money flooding on DARWIN in the next...youll see a different jockey here:cigar
  13. Re: Royal Ascot Day 5 ~ Saturday Over a Month ago I started this thread, concentrating on todays Hardwicke. My opinions have not changed and sill at 10/11....Backing Mount Athos and Ektihaam..Is the sure fire nap of the meeting. These two will progress, again on their last runs...Both are Group 1 class running in a G2. Which one wins?, im not sure it will be close...But i know this, none of the others will be able to live with the screaming pace here...Course Record..Maybe. My biggest bet of the year by a long way, to get me out of a bad RA, One of these two winning will bring it all back and more. No other bets for me today..This is just shy of the best evens bet you will see all year.

  15. Re: BBOTD > Friday 21st June 3.45 RA - Maureen 16/1 Ladbrokes Stan james Maureen has had two nightmare runs in the English and Irish 1000. Today steps up the most successful RA jockey. If she gets a trouble free run, she will be bang there. without doubt she is the big big value in this race, she should be half the odds.... check out her last two runs. hannon would not take just the judge on again, if he did not think she could win given her best effort. HUGE AT 16/1.

  16. From the many TWEETS from people who have walked the course.. The Straight Track is now Good/Firm..A little faster they reckon on the far rail.. On the round Course its still Good until you hit the straight.. Hope this helps.:ok As at 12:45pm.

  17. Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread

  18. Re: BBOTD > Tuesday 18th June

230 Ascot: Animal Kingdom (5/4 Ladbrokes) Cant believe the price of this horse, thought he would be definitely odds on so represents a value bet for me today. Not often we see a Kentucky Derby winner over here and was very impressive at Meydan when winning the Dubai World Cup. The main opposition have fallen by the wayside and i reckon apart from the selection the field is fairly ordinary for a race of this type. Obviously we must have a slight doubt about him acting on the track but the big occasion wont bother him that is for sure.
Im all over this mate...If it gets beat...Its all up hill..Max they would take till 9:30..was £50 in the shop:(
  19. Re: Royal Ascot Day 1 - Tuesday 18 June 2013 Ladbrokes 8/11 Animal Kingdom....All other firms 10/11 - 2/1(restricted)....What sort of person would contimplate putting a bet on with this lot? They are shorter on all selections at the front of the market in all other races,,longer on the odd rag here n there...Joke prices...SHOP AROUND!

  20. Re: Highest tricast in British racing
