  1. Re: Euro 2012 Qualifiers > 2-3 September Scotland - Czech Republic Scotland (4 points, 4 games) with a chance to come closer to second place, which is occupied with Scotland todays opponent Czech Republic (9points, 5 games). Scotland usually play very well at their own turf and with the injuries of key GK Peter Cech and important forward Tomas Necid for the Czechs, i believe that the men in blue have what it takes to win it. Pick: Scotland (0AH), 1.83 Bet365 Ireland - Slovakia Ireland is fighting with Russia and Slovakia for the first and second spot in this group as all are tied with 13 points, so todays and Tuesday's games will put situation in this group much clearer as we are facing some key games. Ireland plays really well under experienced coach Trapattoni, while Slovakia is gaining points, but their play is nothing special, they're also missing best player Hamsik for todays match. So with Ireland home advantage and better form recently i believe in Ireland win. Pick: Ireland (-0.5 AH) 1.95 Bet365 Georgia - Latvia Finally i will come to Georgia bandwagon as well, although the odds dropped significantly, nevertheless i still believe that much improved Georgia side with a great coach and very good ex footballer T. Ketsbaia have what it takes to overcome slumping Latvia side, who should really be preparing for next qualifying as this one is as good as over for them. Georgia on the other hand still believe in second spot, so they will fight. Georgia is missing defender Salukvadze, while Latvia is missing their best striker Rudnevs. Pick: Georgia (AH -0.75) 1.825 Bet365

Barthel - Scheepers 21 year old German Mona Barthel come into the match with 27 year old South African Chanelle Scheepers as a slight favourite which i can't quite understand. Yes she won against Martinez Sanchez in round one, but Spanish girl is just in a big slump at the moment. Barthel had 63% of first serves in, with 2 aces and 4 double faults along the way. She had to face 11 break point oppurtunities and luckily for her Martinez managed to convert just two of them, while Mona had 7 break points, converting four. She mainly played in ITF circuit last month, where she managed to win against Weinhold, both Pliskova sisters, Giorgi and Martinez Sanchez two days ago, which you can see is the best achievement. She is 99 on WTA rankings, which is the highest she has ever been, so we can say that she is on the up. Nevertheless i think that Scheepers will be too much for her. She beat Keothavong in round one, where both players played miserably, with UE after UE. Scheepers had 55% of first serves in with 1 ace and 3 double faults. She broke Keothavong 5 times of 10 oppurtunities, while she had to face 7 break points of which two were converted by the Brit. Scheepers played a lot in last month, so she should be match fit. Before Keothavong she won against Hampton, Konta, Marino, Arvidsson and Alla Kudryatseva, while she lost with Kerber, Kvitova, Watson and Zahlavova Strycova. We can see that she managed to beat some established players, while Mona Barthel was playing mainly on ITF tour. That's why i believe this would be a win for Scheepers, with which she will play either Lucic or Schiavone in third round. Pick: Chanelle Scheepers 1.9 odds Bet365
    Result 4-6 5-7 Bet won

Petra Martic - Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova I think the odds on this match are not set correct, as Pavlyuchenkova is not in kind a form to be justified with around 1.3-1.4 odds...Players had different path to the second round as Pavlyuchenkova eased through Tatishvili with a score of 6-2 6-2, but that score is not telling everything. AP had only 44% of 1st serves in and managed 5 aces, but she also made 9 double faults, with Ana Tatishvili having 11 opportunities to break Pavlyuchenkova, but managed only 4 times. Anastasia had 10 break point oppurtunities and managed to convert 7 of them. She also had 9 UE and only 5 winners. Pavlyuchenkova is 20/10 this year on hard, but in last month she only managed to beat Dushevina, Vinci and Tatishvili, while she lost to Martinez Sanchez, Pennetta and Na Li. On the other side we have 20 year old croatian girl Petra Martic who had a tough match up in first round against Barbora Zahlavova Strycova, where she managed to put 60% of first serves in with 4 aces and 6 double faults. She had 30 Unforced errors and 39 winners and manage to break Zahlavova 3 times in 4 oppurtunities, while Zahlavova also had 4 oppurtunities for a break, but managed to convert two break points. Petra Martic is 16/7 this year on hard and in last month she managed to win against Riske, Niculescu, Hradecka, Suarez Navarro, Martinez Sanchez, Vesnina, Wickmayer and Zahlavova Strycova, with 2 losses only against top 10 players A. Radwanska and Zvonareva. We can safely say that Martic is in better form than Pavlyuchenkova, even if Anastasia may have better potential at the moment gap between these two players is not that big as odds suggest. Pick: Martic +3.5 games, 2.00 odds Bet365 The winner plays with a winner of Jankovic-Dokic match.
    Result 4-6 6-2 4-6 Bet won
  4. Re: Basketball European Championship 2011 - Lithuania Montenegro (vs Bosnia and Herzegovina)+ Turkey -1.5 (vs GB) Double Montenegro should really overcome Bosnia in this match-up with two of ex-YU countries. Bosnia played really bad in the preparation games, while Montenegro played great in qualifications for this Eurobasket. Bosnia was a little better yesterday against Greece but i don't think that Greece were firing with all cylinders and i don't think that Greece have a squad which can go any further than QF in this years championship. Teletovic had really off game yesterday, which should improve today but nevertheless i believe that Montenegro will have enough to be the winner, cause i see big difference between these two teams under the rim, as Montenegro centers are far better than Bosnians. Bosnia has Kikanovic and really there is no replacement for him, while Montenegro with Pekovic, Vranes, even Dasic have a great tall line. Yesterday Bosnia had 10 rebounds less than Greece, while Montenegro had 11 rebounds more than Macedonia. I see great advantage for Montenegras here. The only thing that worries me a little bit is 23 turnovers made by Montenegro yesterday, but i think that they will reduce that today. What to say about Turkey - GB match, well GB can cope with Turkey only on forward positions, everywhere else i see a great advantage for Turkey. Great Britain really don't have any adequate cover for the starting line-up, Deng played the whole 40 minutes yesterday and should get a little bit tired. So a clear win for Turkey in my eyes Pick: Montenegro + Turkey -1.5 points double odds 1.86

  8. Re: Slovenia PrvaLiga 2011/2012 Quick look of these week games: Celje vs Triglav: Celje in pretty good form at the moment, even more if we know that club is not one of more organized in Slovenia. They've got few very experienced players like Pavlovic, Gobec and a bunch of youngsters who are doing very well so far in the league. Triglav got to a very bad start, but start to show sth more against Olimpija in their last game, but it's too early to tell in their form is on uptrend. Celje should win, but not at this odds Koper - Rudar Velenje Koper is another club who is very unorganized with coaches, players come and go and then come back. They have a new stadium, great conditions for training and very good squad if we look at their names, but something is wrong in the coastline club. They should have new coach for this fixture Milivoj Bracun, who was here two times before. Rudar have a great coach Djuricic, who is known especially for developing young players and club is one of most organized in Slovenia. They have some talented young players. Odds for Koper seems too low, but i don't know how new coach would infect Koper's way of playing. Mura - Domzale Mura sacked their coach Pevnik after last defeat against MB 6-0 and the new coach is assistant coach of Maribor Ante Simundza, for who this will be his first job as head coach. They also bring two players on loan from Maribor (Rajko Rep and Timotej Dodlek), two young talented players that couldn't find their place in Maribor first eleven recently. Domzale is maybe third or fourth strongest club in the country but at the moment they have a lot of injuries, especially in defence. Last game even 16 year old played as left back. Olimpija - Maribor Main game of this round and biggest slovenian derby. Olimpija has best player of our league in Dare Vrsic and he was a matchwinner many times already this season. They're coming to the top after they were eliminated quite undeservedly in Europa League against Austria Vienna. They have a great squad and are the most serious contender for the league title along with Maribor. Their main weakness is a lack of attacker, so most of their goals come from midfield or set pieces. Maribor on the other side has somewhat up the standards in our league and are the most organized club in our country at the moment. They have a great, talented squad, but i'm not a fan of their coach Milanic, who i think should bring even more from the players he has at his disposal. They have tough game on Thursday with Glasgow Rangers away at Ibrox and will be probably tired for the sunday derby game. Gorica - Nafta Gorica has always been know for producing young talents (Birsa, Burgic, Jokic, Matavz...) and at the moment they have great attacking trio (Plut, Galesic, Franklin), who are all very lively and dangerous in front of goal. They also have some talent in midfield and defence with Mevlja brothers. Nafta on the other side is semi proffesional team with money problems. Last week their main attacking weapon Vedran Vinko just leave the team and went to France to join Metz. Transfer is not yet confirmed as Nafta want more money for him. They will surely be weakened with his departure. Other main players are Vas, Lesjak, Matjasec, they have couple of Hungarian players, but rest of them are unproven in this league.

  10. Re: UEFA Champions League > 22nd / 23rd August I don't see any point to back Udinese, they played one competitive match so far, they sold 3 very important players, Di Natale is always showing good performances in serie A, but in Europe not much has been seen from him so far. They got great attacking wing backs in Armero and Isla, very good goalkeeper, defence is without Zapata...new acquisition Danilo and especially Neuton didn't convince me in last game. Midfield is without Inler, attack without Sanchez... I know Arsenal may have the worst team for years, but they still got some quality and they can surely score against not so good Udinese defence, which would put Udinese qualifying in great danger as they must than score three. I still think the best bet for this game is both to score.

  12. Re: Italy - Serie A - 27-28 August

:welcome My picks for the first weak this season are as follows: Lazio v Chievo - Over 2.5 @ 2.20 Pinnacle 5/10 Lazio looked deadly throught most of there off season and were scoring goals left right and centre, even in there europa league first leg they won 6-0. I expect a tougher match against chievo. Chievo lost Constant, Mantovani and Fernandes and will concede a few goals against high flying lazio in their first game in front of their enthusiastic fans, cisse and klose will want to get off to a good start. Inter v Lecce - AH -1.5 @2.19 Sbobet 4/10 Its true that inter have looked shaky, and just about crap so far in the pre season, BUT. They are playing a team which i expect them to win 2-0, 3-0, 3-1 easily. They will probably start with a 4-3-3 formation and line up something like this: Cesar, Chivu, Lucio, Samuel, Jonathan, Zanetti, Cambiasso, Sneijder, Alvarez, Pandev and Milito or Pazzini Lecce without Olivera, Ferrario and Carrozzieri. Cagliari v Milan - Milan @1.86 Pinnacle 4/10 Milan are just a couple of levels better than Cagliari, also Donadoni was sacked and new coach Ficcadenti who will probably have a similar style to Donadonis 4-3-1-2. They lost Lazzeri , Aquafresca and Marchetti in the window and i cant see them takeing any points against a milan who beat inter in the super cup, and beat juve in the berlusconi cup. Although Milan are without Ibra,Van Bom, Mexes, and Taiwo. Robinho, Pato, Cassano, Thiago Silva, Nesta, Boetang, Seedorf should be enough for Milan to secure 3 points here. I also fancy Siena pk, Cesena +0.5, Roma -0.25 and Novara pk, but i will look into these later on in the week as i did not really put much thought into them just off hand looking at the fixtures, although i do have my reasons :D Let me know your thoughts, :cheers
Gasperini usually plays with 3-4-3 tactics and i think he will put something like this: Julio Cesar Ranocchia, Samuel, Chivu Jonathan, Stankovic, Cambiasso, Zanetti Alvarez, Pazzini, Sneijder They're missing Viviano, Cordobo, Maicon and Nagatomo.
  13. Re: Netherlands - Eredivisie - 26-28 August At first glance: Ajax - Vitesse, Ajax would want to put their slip up with Venlo in the last game behind and comfortably beat Vitesse, but i don't know if that's gonna be that easy as Vitesse looks good at the start of the season with van de Brom as coach (ex Den Haag) and they've got two new signings in Kalas (18 year old defender, on loan from Chelsea) and Annan (25 year old defensive midfielder, on loan from Schalke), especially Annan should strenghten their team. Waalwijk - NAC Waalwijk in a pretty strong start to the season, which is surprising and NAC maybe not so strong as last year...would need more info Twente - Venlo anything else than a big win from Twente would be a surprise, Venlo managed to surprise Ajax, but i don't think they would be able to do that this week also. NEC - Heracles I'm expecting a win from NEC as they're playing ok, not great but ok and they manage to compensate the loss of Vleminckx with some new signings like Platje and Nijland, Heracles a lot stronger at home with their artificial pitch. Utrecht - Roda a big question? De Graafschap - Den Haag pretty even game in my eyes Groningen - Alkmaar Groningen usually strong at home, but AZ entered season with good results, i don't know how much will they miss GK Romero who went to Sampdoria.. Feyenoord - Heerenven Feyenoord should win at home although they're far from being strong team, but Heerenven just doesn't strike me with any confidence that they can get something from de Kuip PSV - Excelsior PSV finally showed some football during the weekend against Den Haag and should win comfortably against one of worst teams in the division.

  14. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August United looked very strong yesterday, especially in second half. They play much faster than last year, when they were pretty boring at times, but still they got results. Looks like they've got huge potential in the squad at the moment and at the moment i just don't see any other team competing with them for the title, even if it is still very early days. Other teams still have some time till the end of transfer window, but Fergie beat all of them in the beginning when he get his squad together for the whole preparation period, while others are still in the market searching for solutions and try to strengthen their squads.

  15. Re: Germany - Bundesliga II - 19-22 August

What about Pauli to win today. they are making more than great start with 10 points from 4 games so far. Also I read that Jula and Berberovic are out for Duisburg. Duisburg got big scoring problems as hadnt scored a single goal more than 200 minutes. Also Pauli left DFB Pokal and is fully focused on their league performance can someone help with missing players/line ups Pauli -0.25 AH 1.65 @ Pinnacle
Probable line-ups according to kicker St. Pauli Tschauner - Rothenbach, Thorandt, Sobiech, Kalla - Boll - Bartels, M. Kruse, Daube, Bruns - Saglik Duisburg Fromlowitz - Bollmann, Bajic, Bruno Soares, Karimow - Sukalo, Pliatsikas, Brosinski, Gjasula, Wolze - Jula Jula is back for Duisburg, but he isn't 100% fit yet. St. Pauli got a few injuries themselves with likes of Volz, Takyi, Naki and Ebbers out, but they still got some great players that can replace them. Duisburg is without Baljak. I believe in a win for st. pauli as they're in good form and despite the missings got better squad available than Duisburg. Home factor is another issue as St. Pauli got great fans and usually plays very well at home.
  16. Re: Scotland > Weekend > SPL > 20-21 August

Dundee United 0-1 Dunfermline - LOSS Celtic 0-1 St Johnstone - LOSS Kilmarnock 0-0 Hearts - LOSS Horror show from me this weekend. From what I've read and heard, the TV highlights tonight will make frustrating watching. Sounds like United and Celtic should have won their games three times over, but that's football... Apologies to anyone who followed. Back on the horse next weekend. Cheers :ok
i watched some highlights from Dundee Utd and Celtic games and results were very unlucky, so the picks weren't so off and with a bit of luck this weeks three losses can come to three winning bets next weekend. Good luck
  17. Re: Belgium - Jupiler League - 19-21 August grieksen or anyone else who have more insight in Belgium football...What do you think about over 2.25 for tonight's game Lierse vs Beerschot, Beerschot is known for their scoring abilities, while Lierse will try to win this game at home, which is some kind a derby if i'm not mistaken? The other game that interests me is Westerlo vs Gent, Gent is playing really well at the moment, although table doesn't suggest that, while Westerlo is probably the worst team at the moment. Also Lokeren away at St. Truiden looks interesting.

  18. Re: Germany - Bundesliga - 19-21 August Some info from Koln camp...First choice GK Michael Rensing will not be able to play on Saturday against Kaiserslautern because of injury, so his place will be in hands of Varvodic (22 year old Croat) who already played some games last year. Transfer of Mohamad to Al Ahly is not yet finished, but it is unlikely he will play...Also Podolski is doubtful

  19. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August

I cant blame anyone for opting for Liverpool , I feel Arsenal are there for the taking. Kenny would of been studying the Gunners an realize they have defensive frailties and the Reds will be looking to exploit them. Arsenal have numerous players missing for game an Liverpool more or less have full squad to choose from. Downing looked lively on Saturday i can see him building on that. I'm confident the Reds will take at least a point back to Anfield, my bet would be Liverpool on some sort of handicap, but prices are short.
I think that it's trap written all over this game, sure Arsenal have a lot of injuries, are making silly mistakes in the back and are probably now the worst team in years, but also Liverpool doesn't strike me as a squad ful of confidence, that can be trusted in away game vs Arsenal. Downing is a player that i see as overrated, sure he has nice left foot and pace but A. Young is definitely better player of the two, providing with lots of useful balls in the box and also scores more regularly. The other very overrated player similar to Downing is Milner.
  20. Re: UEFA Europa League > Thurs 18 August

He is trying to implement a 4-3-3 - as much as he can. Roma don't have the ideal players for this system yet' date=' but he is trying. They hope to sign players that fit into the system but as mentioned in my above post they may not play 4-3-3 tomorrow because the squad is quite weak. It's a question of playing Taddei wide up front with Borriello central and Bojan on the other side. I suppose it makes sense for LE to stick with his 4-3-3 system tomorrow but I'm not sure. In short, he is playing 4-3-3 but may abandon it tomorrow.[/quote'] Thanks ultravires for your quick reply...it's really strange that they sold Menez and Vucinic, two players that can definitely play in wide attack positions...Bojan was playing this positions in the past but i'm still not sure that he is comfortable out wide, while i don't rate Taddei really high. It's gonna be diffucult season for Roma if they don't spend more in the last two weeks of transfer window. plus i don't know how long will the board be willing to give Luis Enrique if results won't come. I know nothing about Slovan so i will stay away from this match.
