There are our football ratings. all you need to look at is the end bit.. If it is + or in green, that means the home team is fancied on our ratings, and the higher the value the better the chance they have. Tottenham are -31, so they have the best chance at the weekend according to our ratings system. Even though Stoke are -1, that isn't much and that match could easily be a draw. The most fancied home side are West Ham, who have a rating of +15.25.

BERND WIESBERGER (28/1, Sky Bet - 5 Places) is a three time European Tour winner and the 30 year old Austrian has what it takes to win this week. He is very long off the tee and will be able to take advantage of the four tough Par 4's on the course with his length. He finished a creditable T26 last week in Abu Dhabi and finished 3rd here in Doha last year.
BRANDON STONE (66/1, Bet Victor - 5 Places) got his first ever European Tour win a couple of weeks ago in his native South African Open Championship and the 22 year old looks a golfer going places. He finished T26 in Abu Dhabi last week which was a very respectable score on a difficult course and the hot conditions are something he will be very used to. He looks overpriced.
MATTHEW BALDWIN (200/1, Bet365 - 5 Places) would have done much better than a T26 finish last week in Abu Dhabi but for a shocking final round of 76 to put a dampener on proceedings. However, he is playing exceptionally well and is my dark horse for this week. He finished T22 in this in 2014 in a year where he was T3 in the Irish Open, T5 in France and T5 in the Joburg Open. He has a squeak.
DANIEL BROOKS (300/1, Sky Bet - 5 Places) is my longshot of the week, a player that is certainly overlooked by the bookmakers in my view. The 29 year old won the Madeira Islands Open in 2014 which is a European Tour event and he finished 3rd in the South African Open Championship a few weeks ago. He is without question worth a small each-way investment at these odds.

This really feels like it could be the year of Jason Dufner. He's put a lot of stuff behind him. I have him here and e/w for all the majors at 100-200/1.
Aside from him, it will be interesting to see how Mickelson goes with a new swing coach. An ounce more consistency and the Masters could be his.

Happy New Year to all. The standard start the calendar year with the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at Kapalua. The course is long, coastal and undulating, safe to say it's difficult to get close to pins, so this really turns into a test of approach play in the wind, allied to converting birdie opportunities, often from distance. 3-putt minimisation is also a real-task here with big greens and plenty of undulations making lag putting tricky. 

It's often a quirky track, so those with experience have an advantage and you need to be up with the pace from Round 1 onwards as scoring is low, when the wind is breezy. Kona winds make for a different test than standard this week. 

I'm sure that Rickie Fowler and Kevin Kisner will go well, and Justin Thomas with his recce to Maui pre-event is sure to fast start. However purely for their ability to shoot-low, play consistently in the wind and putt well on TifEagle Bermudagrass I've gone with Patrick Reed at 12/1 (prices were yesterday afternoon) and Graeme McDowell at 28/1.

Arsenal have a huge task ahead of them, Olympiakos beat them at the Emirates when Arsenal had a near full strength side out, people tend to forget that. Now with the injuries and having to win 2-0, can't see them qualifying personally. Also can't see United qualifying unless CSKA do them a favour in Holland. Boring, muck football, no creativity.

Verdict
Saphir Du Rheu is a smart chaser without doubt and he may well be up to this task if things fall right for him. At the prices I would rather be a layer than a player. I’m not prepared to go in and back Bobs Worth either until I have seen more evidence of his comeback.
This leaves a toss up between the unexposed sorts like the Young Master, Ned Stark and If In Doubt or whether to go with the solid, reliable selection of Smad Place.
I think the King horse looks bound to run a good race and I’ll be amazed if he’s not in the frame at least and has to be the bet this time.

Odds with Bet365

I've been given a tip for DOMINADA in the 1pm at Musselburgh today. Currently 6/5 best price, but I see it is now odds on in places. I managed to get heavily involved with the 2/1 on offer last night with Paddy Power.
Basically one of my mates stays down near Malton where Brian Ellison trains his horses. He has very good connections with the stable. He was told the other day that they have been desperate to run this over hurdles again after winning on the flat last time out and should win this race with plenty to spare. The point was also made that for this race it really should be carrying more weight, but because of the age allowance for 3 year olds this is not the case.
