    Jinxing the thread again it seems,I can't get anything right at the moment,sorry about that lads

    Bullet duly dodged! Uncharted territory but I’d say that it’s back to @Skittle again despite the “no bet” angle. Alternative being you get to go again as if the bet was void. I’ll go with the majority on this one if you both favour the “go again” angle.

  2. £10.78 on >0.5 goals in Dortmund v Stuttgart at 1.03

    Was tempted by the Spanish Cup final at a much bigger price but thought better of it (dour nil-nil and ET/pens obviously a live runner). Bilbao +3 would have been good but doubt we'd get 1.01. No doubt a goal in the Arsenal game too but I've gone for this, see what happens!

    Cemhaan has a fairly big rating 8.7 for the class .....he has a tricky race to contend with but at 16/1 I'm prepared to go Ew as he looks very overpriced

    5pts Ew 16/1 willh 4 places

    Shall we say serendipity! Had a matched freebie offer, saw you're post and thought "that'll do". Unfortunately didn't get BOG but you can't have everything. Top work.

  4. Must admit this thread largely flies over my head in a way that is probably karma for all that spread based waffle I come out with but I’m not surprised you can’t make a profit by just using each horse’s last run; it’s far too little data.

    Each horse’s best figure would be more relevant but not in isolation. Ideally you want a rating for each horse that is based on its aggregate form, a bit like ratings for a football team based on their last x games.

    I think the idea of a few of you comparing ratings for the same good quality races is a good one.

    2 for tomorrow in the second of the NRL games. Jenkins 13/10 and Ravalawa 2/1. Both a bit better with 365 and Tuala also a bet with them at 4/3 but I can't get close enough.

    The NRL bogey continues with just the "mention" scoring a try. I'll start tracking by "hemisphere" after this week's games. For tonight;

    Brierley (Salford) at 9/4

    Lewis and Opacic (Hull KR) at 11/10 and 6/4

    Handley (Leeds) at 6/5

    All 4 Wigan hotshots (70 to buy on the spreads) look value to me at the best available anytime price. 6/5 each Miski and Marshall (5/4 available) and 6/4 and 7/4 for French and Field.

    Four out of four should boost the numbers a bit! Picked using the old criteria but would have been selections via the new as well.

    The next thing to test is the notion that domestic games are more profitable than those down under. That’s my preconception. Probably something to track as the samples will be so small that any variance could be random at this stage.
