  1. Bristol de mai in the ryan air chase.due to run at either haydock or ascot this saturday nigel twiston davies horse is I believe a bit above a handicapper but if he runs well on Saturday without winning then I'm sure his weight cant increase too much.notice he has entries in the gold cup also but to my mind his first try at 3 miles showed he does probably stay 3 miles albeit on a flat track as Newcastle is.beaten in a 2 runner race at Carlisle on first start of season trainer was reputedly not too bothered as he felt there was a lot more to come on better ground.cant help thinking that he may end up very well in come ryan air time and a fast run ryan ayr may well play into his handsnotice he also has other entries including gold cup but I think it would be silly to take on thistlecrack etc...so for me its ryan air all the way and 25/1 looks excellent each way value to me.
  2. whisper was I believe a good winner over xmas.given a cracking ride by davy Russell round outside on fresher ground he jumped the last better than his main rival but ut was the way he stayed up the Cheltenham hill that impressed the most.seems to be a horse that likes the track and although they say he is wrong age whisper seems to have got the hang of things at the right time in his life.no doubt nicky Henderson will have this horse primed for the day come march.jlt wines novices chase.if the jockey can hold on to him for as late as possible the I can see this horse storming up the hill perhaps reminiscent of mccoys ride on witchita lineman.
  3. unimaginative choice but Bellshill really impressed me over the festive season.dissagreed with analysis of two mistakes,i thought he only made one and jockey error was to blame for second.think this will be my banker of festival. rsa chase
  4. the game changer. unbelievably overpriced and overlooked in a race that will certainly cut up and he should have his preferred ground.othered fancied runners will surley try to avoid douvan so given chances of small field and next to no other options at festival this horse looks sure to turn up and given favoured time of year and ground it surely represents taking a chance at 100/1 or more realistacly 20/1 a place.weakened on Cheltenham hill when tried to match strides with douvan in arkle .if ridden for a place must have a great chance of achieving it on all known form.sizing john who has form to tie in with the game changer won tday 18 jan 2017 in the Kinloch brae.
  5. An old wise head might be what is needed this week on this course and one who may fit the bill could be Jeff maggert for top twenty Finnish at 40/1 with betfred. Could also pay to include in first round leader betting also as he has a early wish tee time when hopefully conditions may be more favourable.he has performed credibly before at the venue in the year angel Cabrera won the us open so could be value at huge odds 500/1 with coral first five places
  6. Re: Waste Management Phoenix Open > January 29th - February 1st A player who i believe could go well this week is Martin Flores who shot an encouraging 65 in the second round of the Humana last week.He has previously shot a 65 in the first round of this tournament two years ago.For first round leader he is averaging around 200 to 1 and for outright he is as high as 500s but averaging 300s. I have been watching his progress over the last two seasons and am of the opinion that when he does achieve the breakthru win he can compete consistently in many tournaments.
  7. Re: Arnold Palmer Invitational 21-24 Mar K J Choi for me this week.He has finnished in good position here for the last three years albeit a 77 in the final round in 2012 knocked him back down to tied 36th when it could have been a lot better. He played very well in the opening two rounds at Tampa bay last week before a third round 76 though he was one of many who struggled in the third round last week.At 16 to 1 for first 4 in the rest of the world market i believe he could represent good value as he has the experience to handle the course and hopefully the temprament to go with it.For anyone looking for first round leader or outright winner he is availlable at around 80s and 100s respectively.Another player worth keeping an eye out for is Pat Perez who finnished with a 67 to tie for 7th place last weekend and is priced up at 50s for top American and 100s and 125s for first round leader and outright winner. He could be coming to the boil as he has shown most of his better form in early season events so perhaps this will be a big tournament for him.
  8. Re: The Honda Classic (PGA Tour) Feb 28th - Mar 3rd Brian Davis at 20 to 1 for a top ten finnish looks appealing as he showed his first sign of form two weeks ago at the Northern Trust. He is also availlable at 150/200s for first round leader and around 300s for outright winner...each of which could represent good each way odds.
  9. Re: Joburg Open (Euro Tour) Feb 7th-10th Peter Whiteford at 12s for a top ten finnish could be value odds.He tied for 6th place in this event in 2010 and has three top fifty finnishes this season and a low first round of 66 in the Qatar masters so hopefully he will take encouragment from fellow countryman Steve Gallaghers win last week and put himself in with a chance of a good payday come sunday.
  10. Re: At&T Pebble Beach (PGA Tour) Feb 7th-10th Ken Duke for top ten finnish at 20s with ladbrokes. In 2012 he had 6 top tens and it kicked off here at pebble beach. He could also represent value for first round leader but at the moment there is no market availlable. His first round score here last year was 64 which would probably not be too far off leading this time around.A low round last week 66 put him on the way to a tie for 43rd place last week which was a big improvement after missing the cut in his two tournaments previous this year.Despite not being the youngest player in the field he has improved immensley over the last two seasons becoming a regular feature toward the top of the leaderboards in many competitions. So while he may not actually triumph overall i can see him hang in for a top ten come sunday evening.
  11. Re: Antepost bets & Discussion - Jump Season 2012/13 agree that the package could be a good shout for the grandnational...i have him on my shortlist along with cappa bleu who comes from a stable who have excelled over the last few years in the race.another one im interested in at a much bigger price is tartak who has slipped down the handicap to an amazingly attractive mark and whose recent races would lead one to believe that he has been having this mark protected.he is entered at cheltenham on saturday with 10 stone 4lb in the murphy group chase so it will be interesting to see if he runs and indeed the meeting goes ahead.cappa bleu is also entered in this race and the argento chase over 3 mile 1 furlong so i will be keeping an eye on his performance with an eye to the big one on april 6 at aintree.
  12. Re: Farmers Insurance Open (PGA Tour) Jan 24th-27th camillo villegas to rediscover topform on a course where he has performed well previously.last year not the best for the columbian but 47th last week shows he is moving in the right direction,so heres hoping the spiderman can get a flying first round start and keep up the good work til sunday evening.
  13. Re: Sony Open > 10th Jan - 13th Jan aw well a bit dissapointing show from mr knost, unable to make the cut but never mind im going to try and have an each way saver on vijay singh fifth of the odds 4 places at 50s.hopefully the big mans experience can put him in a decent position after the third round as there appears to be a few inexperienced guys near the top of the leaderboard at present and not too many familliar big names round about.
  14. Re: Sony Open > 10th Jan - 13th Jan going to go back in for colt knost at 250 to 1 with corals for four places a quarter each way as i dont think seven shots back is impossible to claw back.seemed a little unlucky on the greens yesterday with a few putts rolling up to the hole but not dropping though did have one 32 footer for a birdie on hole 9.so 60 odd to 1 for fourth place is in my opinion too good a chance to pass up.here shoping he gets into a good rhythm early and he puts himself in contention going into the final two rounds.
  15. Re: Sony Open > 10th Jan - 13th Jan colt knost at 150 to 1 for first round leader will do for me.shot low round here previously and may just be someone who comes out the blocks early this season.not too sure if he has the stamina to win the tournament but can certainly see him figuring in the opening round.3 others at shorter prices who i think will go well are brendon de jonge, rory sabatinni and carl peterson who have all performed well here before though last weeks tournament may have taken a bit more out of peterson due to the late finnish.
