1. Re: Joburg Open (Euro Tour) Feb 7th-10th

As stated above by Billyhills slim pickings in this tournament where I think the home players will be too strong for the rest of the field. I think i have found once decent bet and it is the the Top Frenchman category - There are 8 runners in this which are as follows - Top Frenchman - Top Nationality

Gregory Bourdy Gregory Havret Alexandre Kaleka

Alexander Levy Gary Stal Guillaume Cambis

Anthony Snobeck Christian Cevaer

I really think Bourdy and Havret are a cut above the rest Bourdy is best priced 6/4 with Ladbrokes and Havret is best priced 7/2 with Skybet - would be very suprised if either of these two players did not come out on top of these poor selection of French players as the remaining 6 players are rookies with no recent form or prize money to their name. I have split the stakes on both selections so I win the same amount if either Bourdy or Havret is the top Frenchman pays just under evens which I think is a more than fair price - I have a free £10 bet with Skybet so if I use that too so it pays just over evens for me - I can see most of the French lads if not all of them failing to make the cut with such a strong SA field but reckon one of my two boys will be way too strong even if it goes to all four rounds. Not everyones cup of tea backing an even shot but I am happy with it. Good luck all who has a bet. Joe
As predicted all of the French boys struggled to make the cut - Only Kaleka with a score of -4 & my man Havret with a birdie on the last also scraping though with -4 making the cut. Feeling a lot more positive than after the first day and am happy to be sitting on a coupon of just over evens on this two horse race although def not a gimme am confident my man can land the spoils - bring on the weekend!!!
  2. Re: At&T Pebble Beach (PGA Tour) Feb 7th-10th I am with Aidymac on this one I had a good result last week backing Chalmers last week to be top Australian player - I must admit I thing Jason Day is due a good tournament - he posted a good final round score and was scoring plenty of birdies and the odd eagle I think if there had been another 9 holes he would have beaten Chalmers - the final round of 4 under was pretty good shooting so maybe he is starting to find his A game again - 11/4 with Coral looks a decent price so I will have a nibble at that. Jason Day to be top Australian player 11/4 with Corals

  4. Re: Phoenix Open PGA Tour ~ 31st Jan - 3rd Feb Good old Greg Chalmers did the damage yesterday and even a poor level par round was enough for him to win by 4 shots - a nice 7/1 winner well done Billy Hills I hope you too made a nice few quid on him. Onto Pebble beach next week as soon as I have had a look at the field I will be coming back with a few more tips untill then goodbye. Joe

  5. Re: Dubai Desert Classic (31st Jan - 3rd Feb) That is weird looking at oddschecker both Mannaserro and Jaidiee stood out for me too - I have opted for an each way bet on Mannaserro at 33/1 with Skybet - as watched him last week and his swing looked smooth think he is a player with bags of talent and a win on the tour will be coming his way soon am sure - hopefully this weekend. Joe

  6. Re: Farmers Insurance Open (PGA Tour) Jan 24th-27th Have just layed Tiger Woods @ 5.2/1 on Betfair he is on hole 4 and 4 shots of the leader in tied for 18th place - am sorry this joke is a price - I admit he is playing quite well but he is not a shadow of his former class - I think that price is an insult to all the other players in the mix. I may end up with egg on my face but at that price am willing to lay a bit and take my chances. Good luck all Joe

  7. Re: Qatar Masters 23rd-26th Jan Update - Peter Lawrie made the cut (just) he is currently -1 Update on the others - Mcginley +4 missed the cut Maybin -1 McGrane -4 Hoey -5 As you can see Lawrie has a lot to do - but i just think he is still in a shout with this bet - he is getting plenty of birdies so if he can just cut out the errors getting him the bogies he can do it for me. Reckon Hoey or McGrane are due a bad round hopefully both of them - will just have to wait and see - fingers crossed. Joe

  8. Re: Farmers Insurance Open (PGA Tour) Jan 24th-27th I have had a lot more joy laying than backing this year and was shocked to see Jason Day was single figures to be top Australian at the Farmers open - I have layed him for top Aussie at 6.8 medium stakes - reasoning is plenty of good names in this ie Ogilvy,Leisham as mentioned a few times in this thread + Senden & Baddley to name a few. Also outsiders like Appleby on his day can play well - just cant see why Day is so short in such a strong field. def lay for me. Good luck all who choose to bet unless your backing Day.

  9. Re: Capital One Cup > 22nd Jan - 23rd Jan

Am going against the grain here as i think Bradford will edge past Villa 2nite - they have good cushion after the first leg - I can not see Bradford not scoring so really should get on the both to score - but I just have a feeling Bradford will have enough to get through. Have taken the 4/5 with Skybet that Bradford will qualify I fancy 2-1 Villa win 2nite but will go with just Bradford to qualify for final. Joe
Made a few quid on Bradfod to qualify and even got the corect score right - shame I did not do that too - am just pleased with the money I won at odds of 4/5 - well played bradford fully deseved - Hopefully get swansea in the final too.

  11. Re: Qatar Masters 23rd-26th Jan Tournament preview: 2pt win Peter Lawrie to be top Irish player 15/8 - Ladbrokes Only 5 in this group which include - Damien Mcgrane, Gareth Maybin, Michael Hoey & Paul McGinley. I think we can take out McGinley who is the rag in this group at 11/2 who has only made one cut in the last 6 tournaments he has played in. Mcgrane also not made a cut since October in the Portugal masters. Hoey and Maybin both got a bit more recent form with making recent cuts this year but just think Lawrie will have to much in his locker for any of these 4 to beat him in this 3 day event. Good luck all Joe

  12. Re: Humana Challenge (PGA Tour) 17th-20th Jan Nice start one of the lead for you Aidymac I have my fingers crossed for you - he is down to 10/1 on Betfair so maybe worth a lay for your stake back at least.
13. Re: Humana Challenge (PGA Tour) 17th-20th Jan I have opted for David Lynn too mate as top Englishman - I have taken the 9/2 with Skybet - small stakes only should only be a 2 horse race with Ross Fisher and at 9/2 i think worth a small nibble. Good luck with the John Senden bet - bit too many runners for my liking. Joe

  14. Re: Humana Challenge (PGA Tour) 17th-20th Jan Hi there nice post I like your thinking I may have a nibble but with a lay of Ross Fishe I would prefer if Betfair get there finger out a do a book on this although not sure what the liquidiality will be on this type of bet to lay off if and when poss. Just a thought Ladbrokes also doing a book on top GB and Ireland with the same runners + Martin Laird odds slightly more juicy 11/2 on Lynn? Joe

  15. Re: Manchester United v Liverpool > Sun 13th January

Would you not open a betfair account and lay Liverpool @4.3-4.4? By taking the 1/4 with Skybet' date=' you are basically laying them @5.0. If you are after value you have to bet the best value about your picks.[/quote'] Hi there I can see where you are coming from but I had some money in my sky bet account + a free bet I was owed so decided to take the 1/4 with them - if I had layed Liverpool with Betfair the time I had paid there rip off 5% comission would not have won much more + am collecting tokens with Skybet and that bet would have earned me another one towards a free bet. I called the score right 2-1 but am not greedy am happy to take the winnings on the Man Utd or draw - easy money.
  16. Re: Manchester United v Liverpool > Sun 13th January Ok I will give my 2ps worth - i priced up this game in my head before ssing the odds and had Man Utd at least 4/6 if not 4/7 so to see them almost evens with some bookies looks a good price - I think if Man Utd were playing any other team that are placed near Liverpool in the league ie West Brom, Stoke, Swansea, Everton or even Arsenal I think Utd's price would have been a lot shorter - yes I know there is a lot of history between these clubs but i just think the gulf in class is massive - Liverpool are rebuilding but that is going to take time for Brendan Rodgers to do this and the time is not now. Can see Man Utd winning this 2-0 or 2-1 but as I have got older my bets have become shrewder so I am going to go with - Man Utd to win or draw - odds are 1/4 with Skybet which I think is a good price. I think the only risk to this is a stupid early red card but with Utd being at home and Webb in charge the chances are Liverpool are more likely to be down to 10 men than Utd. Good luck all who are having a go in this match and for the record I am a neutral in this match so am not biased. Joe

  17. Re: FA Cup > 29th Dec - 7th Jan

Also a boro fan and agree with doriva that is a more than capable side especially the midfield ' date=' I do have a feeling Hastings will score as we have not been defending great and the defence does look a bit weak could be a situation where boro get 2-3 up and switch off more so if Hastings are coming to attack can see it ending up 3-1 or 4-1[/quote'] Nice shout here - I just did Borough to win at odds of 1/6 anyone know what price boro to win 4-1 was?? Joe
