  1. Result: Celta Vigo 3 - 1 Las Palmas = Winner!

    ---

    £19.50 Double

    Derby v Fulham - Under 4.5 goals 1/7

    Charlton v MK Dons - Under 4.5 goals 1/10

Combined double = 1.25 (Betfair Sportsbook)

  2. Well that first effort was short and sweet! A 90th minute corner took it to 14 corners and a losing bet.

    Let's try again.

    ----

    £15 - Celta Vigo v Las Palmas |     Celta Vigo +1 @ 1.3 (Betfair)

  3. It's a winning start with 4 bookings.

    Next bet:

    £18 - Swansea vs Middlesbrough - Under 13.5 Corners @ 1.22 (SkyBet)

    ----

Think this would have come in in the last 10 Swansea home games and the last 10 Boro away games. Can't see it being a very open game,

  4. First bet up:

    Liverpool v Everton - Over 30 booking points @ 1.20

    -----

This bet would have come in in each of the last 15 games between these two teams (I think). It's always a feisty one and Anthony Taylor is reffing. He has one of the highest bookings per game records in the league.

With the recent press around the horrific Coleman injury I'm sure he won't be slow in getting his card out.

(In fact the 2.9 available on 30 or more Liverpool booking points looks like good value for anyone who likes that sort of bet).

  5. Hello!

Been off this forum for quite a while now, but with Vegas now booked for August I thought I would try a few glory hunts to try and earn a bit of spending money to then blow on Blackjack in the MGM Casino!

Idea of this is to start with £15 and get it up to £100 using these rules:

    - Team sports only

    - Minimum odds 1.13, Maximum odds 1.30

    - No in-play bets

    - Two attempts a month

Let's see how we go! :)

  6. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August

60% possession says it all really :\ Swansea remind me of England. They really need to devise a way of getting the ball through midfield to create chances' date=' and sort their movement out :([/quote'] Really? They created a lot of chances and they got the ball through midfield well. The trouble was the final product wasn't good enough. I was open minded about Graham but from what I've seen he isn't Prem quality. Nothing like England imo.
  7. Re: Cornering the market - 2011/2012 Swansea v Wigan Bet: Swansea -1 Corners odds: 13/10 Bookie: WillHill Stake: 7.5pts A lot of width in the Swansea team with Dyer and Sinclair. They play good football and I'm expecting them to dominate poessesion against Wigan. At home last season they averaged +3.6 on the corner handicap at home. Wigan averaged -1.5 away from home.

  8. Re: Cornering the market - 2011/2012

jk - Do you take account of which side is likely to be chasing the game when working out these bets?
Of course, its one the of the many factors I take into account. Anyway, Arsenal won the corner count 9-5 for a return of +9.75 points. Bank now stands at 97.25pts.
  9. Re: Cornering the market - 2011/2012 Arsenal v Liverpool Bet: Arsenal -1 Corners odds: 13/10 Bookie: WillHill Stake: 7.5pts In the last 3 years at the Emirates Arsenal have an average handicap of about -3. From the looks of it Liverpool are setting up quite defensively and will invite pressure which will help this bet. Two shakey defences playing against two similar 4-3-3 formations. Should offer a lot of width.

  10. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August

Well' date=' how about just trying to make a decision about the result then? Radical thinking, I know :loon[/quote'] But as I said, it's very difficult to see how this game is going to start. Both managers are going to have to slightly alter their tactics and both managers have line-ups that wouldnt be recognised 12 months ago. Trying to predict a result is impossible. As I suggested, it may be worth just watching to see how the game goes for the first 20 minutes before making an informed bet.
  11. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August

the only match i'm certain of is liverpool to beat arsenal for all the stated reasons in previous threads. i think liverpool is going to trash arsenal probably 3-1. there has never been better time to beat arsenal with all their youthful and error prone players. fingers crossed
Uhm, yeh, because Liverpool arn't error prone? :\
  12. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August Same applies for the Villa game. Villa will probably win and are rightly favourites to do so, but 1.70, really? Despite how many injuries Blackburn have, I would never put Villa that short and would want them at least evens. It's another game with no value and should be left well alone (although I may be tempted by the unders).

  13. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August Regarding Arsenal v Liverpool. This is a typical case of where everyone see's team news and automatically goes against the team that have absentees (Arsenal). I agree, I do feel Liverpool have the advantage in this game and feel it will be pretty even. However, the bookies are not stupid and they also realise the sort of team Arsenal are going to put out and have priced it accordingly. There is NO value in the 1x2 market of this game whatsoever. These are two teams who have very different starting line ups to what we are used to and therefor pricing it up is impossible. Liverpool have the advantage of having a near fully fit squad but at the same time they are away from home, and, despite our (Arsenals) shortcomings, we still have the likes of Van Persie who can turn a game on its head. This is definitely a game to leave alone. However, if you're desperate to have a bet I would wait untill in-play to see how the match is panning out before making a decision.

  14. Re: Cornering the market - 2011/2012 Hearts 6 - 4 Spurs :puke I knew Spurs would be dominant but I didn't expect it to be that easy! I thought Hearts might hold out a bit longer and Spurs would have a lot of the posession but it turned out to be too easy and although they were 3-1 up on corners at half time, they let Hearts back into it after the break. Another dissapointing result. Bank: 87.5pts

  15. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August Swansea -1 vs Wigan @ 7/2 I'm expecting a big performance from Swansea here. Their first home game in the Premiership against one of the poorest sides in the league and a team who are still lacking match fitness after several players exerts in the Copa America. Despite losing 4-0 last week I was impressed with Swansea going forward. They're very comfortable on the ball and Dyer and Sinclair are real threats on the wing. The main test will be how well Danny Grahaem fits in but if he gets the supply I'm sure he'll score. I've mentioned before how I rate Brendan Rodgers as a manager and I think he'll have them up for this game. Wigan never take a big crowd so the Swansea fans could be the only ones making a lot of noise. I just have a big gut feeling that we're going to see a good Swansea performance here that might make people sit up a bit and take notice. Other bets: Scott Sinclair antime @ 15/8 and 1st scorer @ 6/1

  16. Re: England > Weekend > Premier League > 20-22 August Like quite a few bets this weekend. Norwich v Stoke - Under 2.5 @ 8/11 I'm tempted to take Norwich in this one after Stokes midweek exerts in Europe but I think I'll play a bit safer with the Under 2.5 market. Stoke are notoriously difficult to break down. Woodgate, Huth, Shawcross and Delap is a very difficult back four to break down whilst Begovic is an underated keeper. They showed at the weekend against Chelsea how difficult to break down they are. Norwich will be more attacking at home than they will away but I just don't think they have the quality to break down a very solid defence. On the flipside I don't think Stoke have the pace going forward to really trouble Norwich, especially with Etherington out injured. It should be a pretty close (and unexciting) game, probably likely to be a close 1-0 win or perhaps a 1-1 draw, but either way I'm pretty confident in the unders.
