  1. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Sunday 24th My Bet of the Day is KAVALOTI 2.55 EXETER (0.5 E/W)..The selection was beaten at odds on LTO when it had the race in the bag only to fall at the 2nd last. It's had a few weeks off since that effort and is sure to have been well schooled by the trainer G.Moore.Blinkers are applied today and if these have the desired effect Kavaloti can go close..RP F/C 11/1..:ok

  2. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Saturday 23rd Feb My Bet of the Day is : DUBAI'S TOUCH 4.15 LINGFIELD (1.0 WIN )..The selection would have the measure of today's opponents if this was on turf.Has raced all over Europe in Group races and has performed well in the past on the A/W..Eye catching jockey booking(J-P Guillambert) who was in the saddle when the horse won on the A/W last year over a mile(ran on well)..Trainer,Mark Johnston believes he "should get the trip"...The tip can go close and be in the shake up at odds of around 6/1.( I would have tipped this E/W but I have dropped off the pace so it's on the nose today)..:ok

  3. My Best Bet of the Day is : MY MENTOR 5.00 SOUTHWELL (1.0 WIN )..This race looks tailor made for the selection.Appeared not to stay over 1m2f LTO in a better class race.Back at a mile today and slightly favoured at the weights,he can go close over a trip at which he has already won.Trained by the in-form Mark Prescott and Seb Sanders only ride at the meeting.:ok

  4. My Bet Of The Day is : MISS SHAKIRA 3.55 HUNTINGDON (0.5 E/W )..The tip needs to put a poor run behind it LTO.Apparently there were valid reasons for that below par effort and I am basing my selection on a previous run over 3m4f.On that occasion Miss Shakira only faded towards the end of the race and today's trip looks ideal.. :ok

  5. My Bet of the Day is : ORIENTALIST ART 2.25 LINGFIELD (1.0 WIN )..The selection was a B/F on it's debut in a 19 runner class 4 race at Newmarket last May.The tip showed promise when staying on strongly to take 2nd inside the final furlong and will be well suited by today's longer trip.Must go close if transferring turf form to the A/W and noted that it's Seb Sanders only ride at Lingfield..:ok

  6. Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sunday 17th Feb With Towcester abandoned my bet of the day is : MID VALLEY 5.00 SOUTHWELL(1.0 WIN)..The selection always runs well here and can take this off bottom weight.Ran well on seasonal debut in a race where some of the other runners have gone on to frank the form.A repeat of that effort will see him go close..:ok

  7. Re: Best Bet of the Day - Sunday 17th Feb My Bet of the Day is : MARVELLOUS DREAM 4.20 TOWCESTER ( 0.5 E/W )..The selection ran poorly LTO on it's chasing debut but must have been fancied as there was good support in the market.Did not seem to act on really sticky ground.Blinkers are applied today and if transferring hurdles form to the larger obstacles then he can go close..:ok

  8. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Saturday 16th My Bet of the Day is : ABOUNDING 9.20 KEMPTON (0.5 E/W )..The selection was unlucky not to have won over 2m LTO.He was beaten 1/2 length in a Class 4 after racing too keen early on.Basalt the fav for this race has yet to prove himself at the trip.If Abounding can settle then he can be involved in the shake up..:ok

  9. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Saturday 16th

Albertas Run 1.15 Ascot (WIN) 1st, 2nd and 1st in 3 chases, albeit at a lower level but looks to be improving and will need to do so in this Grade 2 race. Has had McCoy on board for those 3 runs but what better deputy to step in than Ruby Walsh for the ride. I've backed this for Cheltenham (see ante post/notebook thread) and expect its odds to drop if it wins this today. Was well beaten by Tidal Bay but both horses going different routes to Cheltenham and that hasn't done badly since. Seems suited to this longer trip and has a good chance today at a decent price and won on good ground last time out.
    Nice callMowgli..:clap:clap
  10. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Saturday 16th

13.15 Ascot Albertas Run win I think Albertas Run EW in the first looks appealing. 7yr olds have a good record and won pretty well LTO, got spooked by a spectator on the run in and would have won by a lot more, and capable of improving. Was far behind Tidal Bay a few runs ago, but made a few mistakes and seemed to improve on the next run. Ruby on board for the first time appeals too, and I think the good ground will benefit here
    Good call Rat..:clap:clap
  11. Re: Lingfield 16/02/08 Lingfield 5.05..EL MASIR. The selection has a 1st Class pedigree littered with group race victories.Mark Johnston's only runner at the track and he produced a horse to win first time out in the week.I am not convinced that the Segal(Fav) is entirely genuine but this could be due to it running a bit "green"...If the tip is priced around the 5/1 mark it should be e/w value..:ok

  12. Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Fri 15/2/08 My Bet of the Day is : GANSEY 2.55 FAKENHAM (1.0 WIN )..The selection is held in some regard by trainer P.Nicholls but never really justified that confidence LTO when tried in a grade 1.This will be more to it's liking and with Ruby Walsh in the saddle(only ride),he can take this at a canter..:ok

  13. Re: Best Bet Of The Day - Thu 14/02/08 MY BET OF THE DAY IS : RHODE ISLAND RED 4.55 SOUTHWELL ( 1.0 WIN )...The selection was slowly away on it's handicap debut over 7f but ran on well for 2nd.This slower surface and the extra furlong seems ideal and I have been told(stable info) that it is expected to go close today..With stamina doubts about some of the opposition it should get involved at the "business end".I was going to give this as an E/W selection but as there are only 7 runners a win bet is advised..Priced around 4/1..:ok

  14. Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 13/2/08 Help needed...Could somebody please advise me regarding the Best Bet of the Day thread.I wanted to post a selection early this morning before I left for work(7.00am) but could not find the thread.I have noticed that it has been "started" by other members before and is there a way that I can do this.Apologies for sounding a bit vague but any assistance will be much appreciated...Cheers,Ironstoney..:ok...(Rhode Island Red 4.55 Southwell Tomorrow...Inside info has told me this will go close).

  15. Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 13/2/08 My bet of the day is : WAQAAR 7.20 KEMPTON (1.0 WIN )..The selection was a BF(odds on) LTO over 6f.He gave the impression that a step up in trip would be beneficial and tonight he goes over a mile.Still a very lightly raced 4 year old he is up against some more exposed types and improvement can be expected.Seb Sanders only ride at the meeting,,,priced at around 4/1..:ok

  16. Re: Best Bet Of The Day - 12/2/08 My bet of the day is : QRACKERS 2.0 FOLK.(0.5 E/W)..A chance is taken with this one in the hope that it can reproduce the form of his debut run over hurdles. On that occasion he ran 2nd to Francheok(beaten 13L) and was ridden with "kid gloves". His subsequent runs have been disappointing but apparently the horse was "not right".The tip wont mind the soft ground and can be involved at the business end..:ok

  17. Re: Best Bet of The Day - Monday 11th Feb My bet of the day is : BUCEPHALUS 1.40 PLUMPTON ( O.5 E/W )..The selection is having it's first run over hurdles and can make a bold show against mediocre opposition.Bucephalus had the best form on the flat and will have been well schooled for his debut by Jonjo O'Neill. The front 2 in the market have been far from impressive with their hurdling so far and the tip has been given an easy introduction.Jockey,Mick Fitzgerald has a good strike rate at Plumpton(25%)..:ok

  18. Re: Best Bet of the day - Sunday 10th Feb My bet of the day is : DREAM ALLIANCE 3.00 EXETER (1.0 WIN )..A good opportunity for the tip to "open his account for the season".He is clear of the opposition on speed rating figures and the ground/trip will pose no problems. He did put in a below par run last time out but blinkers are put on today and hopefully they will sharpen him up.His seasonal debut at Newbury saw him finish 10L behind Denman and a repeat of that will guarantee a trip to the winners enclosure..9/4 on offer this morning..:ok:ok
