  1. Re: Tennis starting 15th August... I agree with the Safin call - people are taking it a little too much that victory - which is good as the odds on Ginepri are overpriced IMO. He has been playing well this season, and if he gets Safin on the ropes early on, he could win this game. Davydenko game with hewitt should be close, no bet for me - and to be honest cannot see roddick or federer losing in thier games - but odds are too short I feel. Good luck Sco

  2. Re: Tennis starting 15th August... I would NEVER lump a load on Henman, he is just too unpredictable. Was some good in-play betting with the Roddick match yesterday, managed to get him at 2.4 in the 2nd tie break:loon I think the 3rd round matches bar three are going to be really tight, and the odds reflect that. Federer and Roddicks IMO are a given, Hewitt should beat Ancic aswell, but the odds on all 3 are poor. I fancy Ginepri to beat Moya at over 2.00 as he has been playing pretty well of late, and Davydenko I think will beat Gonzalez... he should be able to fend off the big hitter quite easily with his style of play. Sco

  3. Re: Tennis starting 15th August... Am totally with you with Murray V Safin is obviously a class player, but sometimes he doesn't turn up. If Murray really makes him fight for the game, he may just give it up - he has done it before. I'm actually taking Murray here at over 3.00:loon Ed - Word of warning with henman, I think he could easily lose this one - in fact didnt he lose to chela earlier this season? Still odds of below 1.6 for me are too short as before the last match henman looked shaky. Dont want to after event, but rusedksi was a pick i had made, and still he is goi9ng around 2.00 at 4-1 in the first...well worth a dable I think. Sco

  4. Re: Tennis starting 15th August... Dunno if any of you are staying up watching the Murray game, but as he has won the first set, dent can be taken at around 3, guarenteeing a profit if you backed murray. Iv taken this option, as we all know if it goes to 3 sets murray may not be too strong. Now my hopes go out to him...go on lad. Sco

  5. Re: Tennis starting 15th August... Ed:

Sco, I'd have fancied my chances against that tosser given how horrible he was at Wimbledon - you don't need Tursunov to beat Henman, really!
I guess your not a fan of henman then:rollin Rusedski came through, which is good for the pennies to play hewitt - now that will be an interesting game. I have Murray in a few bets tonight, one is laying the dent 2-0. I also have him in with a few others, think he has a realistic chance, so the odds of 3 on betfair look good. He could easily come out the blocks fast, forcing the odds to change, then you can take Dent if you feel necessary. Go on lad!!! Sco
  6. Re: Tennis starting 15th August... Good call with Henman there. I have to say i saw that one being a lot closer, maybe that will give him the confidence he needs to move on. Rusedski if he moves up 3 places will be seeded in the US open, so I feel this may give him extra motivation to beat Tursunov and at 1.5 that aint a bad price - plus he has been playing class too. Gonna bet pretty big on greg I think. Sco

  7. Re: WTA Tennis Bet Guide Have to say, myskina at 36.00:loon I know she isn't favourite by any means, but surely there is value on that price? Worth taking a bit I think. Also serena williams isn't bad value at over 6.00 to win, although i think there ay be more value in h2h matches here, as there are so many players who *could* potentially win it. Chers Sco

  8. Ok. I usually wait for Ed to kick off, but I thought I'd get this one going. First bet that springs to mind is the Henman V Massu game. Henman has not been playing great since coming back; falling at the first hurdle both times, a price of over 3 for Massu is surely worth a shout as Henman is under a lot of pressure to win this one. Now it could and should be a win for henman, as he really nees this one; I just think the price is low for a player not playing well at the mo... The second is Gasquet V Lopez. For starters lopez lost unbelivably in the last tourny to a qualifier...and a bad one at that, so I think his confidence will be low. Gasquet on the other hand has had a good year and should pull through this one - would have beaten grosjean if the rain didn't come IMO. How about Srichaphan V Coria? Coria is not on the best form as of late, where as Srichaphan seems to have picked up after a slow start. I have a feeling this game could be close so may back Srichaphan with small stakes. Final one, and possibly more through want then anything else, but Dent V Murray, surely everyone saw how Murray disposed of him at Queens? I personally think the price is maybe a little high on murray as he has been playing well, I have been thinking of laying the 2-0 to dent of betfair. Players I wouldn't touch with a bargepole. Federer; Not played since Wimbledon, and blake is a pretty good player, I wouldn't go as far as laying federer, but think that it might be closer than the 1.06 suggests! Roddick; After losing to mathieu in the first round last time, you would expect him to win this one, but at 1.05 its a bit risky, I would wait to see how he bounces back before including him in any accy. Nadal; We he be fatigued and saving himself for the US Open? Just my 2 cents; Sco

  9. Re: Tennis week of 8th August I have to agree with the Mathieu and nadal call, although I'm going singles as it doesn't make a huge difference to the price. i also think that Ancic looks ok value to beat greg - I know greg has been playing well, and has scraped through a few games, but I dont see a way past Ancic here - despite his less than perfect way through so far. 1.5 is prety good value I think. I might also put a few bob on keifer to upset Agassi here, I think he is a really good player and will certainly give him a run for his money - the odds look a bit big to me. Sco

  10. Re: Tennis week of 8th August Yep, I have to agree with Henman, he seemed really optimistic despite his defeat to Moodey the other day, and I think he will bounce back. Gasquet match is under way and he seems to be cruising...:hope Also the odds are pretty crap, but I think Nadal is a safe bet at around 1.25 to beat Moya for any accumulators along with hewitt and davydenko. It will be interesting to see how agassi does in his 2nd tourny back too! Sco

  11. I am really interested in this, how poker sites actually stop players from using for example statistical packages to aid them. I mean surely this is cheating no? How do they exactly detect this? Another thing, what exactly would stop a cheating player from re-writing some software that connects through the same ports as the client software and ezxploiting the server some how? is there like encryption and stuff in place? Thanks if anyone can help Sco

  12. Re: Tennis : French Open (23rd May to 5th June) Well I still am sticking to my guns about Davydenko for this match, he truely is playing awsome, and while perhaps there is a little bit of value on Robredo, Davydenko should win this one. I just hope that the injury he was talking to isn't too serious or hasn't worsened...although he did beat Coria with it!!! Anyway after winning money on M Pierce not too important this one comes in but I have been adding bits and pieces here and there to a now quite sizeable bet. Puerta I agree Ed has more of a 50/50 chance of winning the odds here...a great clay courter, we will soon see. Sco

  13. Re: Tennis : French Open (23rd May to 5th June) Well my picks for tommorrow are as follows and I am hoping there is some money to be made. Firstly I fancy Davydenko to see of Robredo. I watched the game that robredo has just come through with Safin and for all the good play he made, he couldn't stay focused and was pretty lucky to get more than one chance from an as usual inconsistent Safin. Davydenko on the other hand certainly will not give chances away, he has proved time and again what quality he has and I feel that 1.7 ish is a GREAT price for him. Secondly I quite fancy Mary Pierce to beat Davenport. I lot of people expected her to lose to Cliesters but she came through. Mary P has been hitting the ball well though and seems back to her best. I think the price of 2.2 and above is certainly some value there. Hopefully 2 winners:hope Sco

  14. Re: Tennis : French Open (23rd May to 5th June) First of all congrats to Edtkh: Another great set of pcks from yourself:clap One bet that I can see a bit of value in is the Davydenko V Coria game. Coria obviously is one of the favourites for the tournament, but Davydenko this year has been excellent and could perhaps cause an upset. The bet I personally will be taking is to lay the 3-0 (coria) as I am sure that davydenko will win at least one set if not win the match. The odds are pretty good...1.8ish for the lay, so your basically gettings odds of around 2.00 for this which I think is a steal. On the overall winner, I still cant see past Nadal I'm afraid, and I would like to see Sharapova win the womens, cos she's gorgeous! Sco

  15. Re: BTM Power Grand Prix Tennis Rochus V Sanguinetti Rochus I really think is playing well at the moment, and is consistently showing how much of an imporiving player he is. Sanguinetti, whilst I think possibly turning the corner wont have enough to beat Rochus here. The odds are probably about right, but I just cant see past another Rochus victory. Rochus to win @ 1.57 Stake 6/10

I won't be touching any tennis this week, given Roland Garros is barely 6 days away
Thats fair enough mate, I'm just trying to get my eye back in before I start to earn the big bucks at RG!!! Good luck Sco
  16. Decided to get back into my tennis betting after 3 or so months out, and thought I'd give my 2 cents worth:D Rochus V Srichaphan Rochus here is a clear favourite for me to win this game. Rochus played superbly in Hamburg, disposing of Ljubicic, Gaudio and Chela before a dissapointing performance vs Gasquet. He looks comfortable on clay and is up and coming. Srichaphan for me has been poor all year, he really struggles on clay, on has been knocked out of nearly all the clay court tournaments this year at the first hurdle. Rochus should have the confidence to beat him, even at this low price. Rochus to win @ 1.25 Stake 10/10 Sanguinetti V Vanek Sanguinetti here despite a slow start on clay, has managed to pick it up and is playing a little better, getting to the QF in Portugal, and losing to Coria in Rome. Vanek on the other hand (despite getting to the final in Prague) didn't beat any players of a real high rank, and lost to Hernych. Sanguinetti won the only H2H on clay, although this was back in 1999 so probably not that relevant. I feel that it will be a close game, but that Sanguinetti's experience will pull him through here. Sanguinetti to win @ 1.57 Stake 5/10 Hanescu V Hernych Hernych is coming into this tournament playing well, he won the Prague masters earlier this month - proving he is more than comfortable on clay. Granted the competition was not that great, but beat Vanek in the final. This should give him confidence for this match. Hanescu on the other hand has won the only other H2H, and himself has been playing well on clay. However I just see this game being much closer than the odds suggest, and feel anything over 2.2 is a good price for Hernych Hernych to win @ 2.27 Stake 3/10 Good luck with all your selections, and feel free to post any agreements or other news of interest. Sco

  17. Re: Embassy world snooker Obviously Murphy played well, and Stevens didn't seem on his game, but I have to say the luck of the balls certainly fell to Murphy. I noticed several times Murphy would attempt a long pot, and stevens would just end up with no pot on. I wouldn't call it lucky as he did make some great pots...particularly the ones in the penultimate frame, and Stevens did miss some sitters. Be interesting to see how Murphy will do in the next tourny...what ever that is? Sco
