Aren't there possible rules that even if cards are accidentally mucked, but easily retrievable, that they can still play? For instance, I believe I've seen videos of hands being unintentionally mucked (say dealer pulling an unprotected hand), and the floor looking into the muck to retrieve the cards if they weren't thoroughly mixed in.
