This could be an easy topic for you but I looked back at the old topics and couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I found out yesterday on a MTT that I'm having trouble classifying players. Actually no trouble on Maniacs or calling stations. I can easily trap a maniac or get full value out of my hand against a calling station. I can easily classify a player when playing live too but online I really suck at it. Last night I thought that the guy was a loose aggressive by the cards he went into showdown. He was betting again after the flop and he really could have nothing because the flop was useless so I raised he called (he really had nothing actually). Then two jacks appeared on the turn and the river (I bet bigger and bigger) then he showed a Jack and a stupid useless card and I lost. So what should I look at to classify players more accurately? I can't use PT by the way because the sites I'm playing don't support it. Thanks

That was really what I wanted and thanks for the sites robilaruk. my english and poker terms knowledge is not so good so I couldn't express myself clearly. GAF's answer was actually what I was thinking and looking for. I agree that value goes down that way. I will actually not call this hand if there are not enough limpers especially if the blind is high and my stack is low. Thanks for all the tips people cheers..

Re: NL Starting Hand Value Let's say that there are 8 players in the table I'm in dealer position and starting from UTG nobody called the big blind there is 300 in the pot since the big blind is 200 let's say I have a big stack so does the BB and SB and they are passive. Should I still call this because if I call and the SB also calls there will be 600 in the pot and 200 of that is mine. It's like a 3.00 odd. Do I have that much chance of hitting the flop for draws with JTs. Of course knowing the table and the stack sizes are important but let's say they are just suited for you to call. Should you call this? cheers

hi there, I know about outs, pot odds, value etc. in draw situations but I really don't know about that in starting hands. For example I have JTs obviously you poker experts think about calling or folding it considering the chips in the pot. Lets say the big blind is 200 and no one raised how much should be in the pot so that you can call this 200. I don't think it would make sense to call if only one person wants to see the flop. I'm asking this for these starting hands suited connectors off-suit connectors or Axs-Kxs that don't have a straight possibility thanks all

I don't know if this strategy was tried before but after losing money from both charlton and birmingham and lots of many before, I decided to try this strategy. If a team is heavily tipped in these forums (like birmingham today), I'm gonna pick the other team with the AH spread. I believe I will reach more than 55 percent hitrate which will get us in profit with odds around 1.9. If this strategy was tried before I won't be offended by a delete by the moderators. You can help me with the matches that you think of as public bets. I'm gonna stake 10 units on all of'em. Let's see what happens

Biggest advantage Qatar has over Iraq is their u23 players are much better and first team players. If we take into consideration this whole tournament, I think we will see a one-side match today. Iraq's goal options will be limited because their best striker won't play today. GL. -
Re: Turkey Super Ligi 8-10 dec Gaziantep lose points in their last two games and this game is very important for them. This is the last week of first part and they dont want to enter the break with a bad morale. Konyaspor had a lot of injuries from other weeks and they couldnt recover so some players are missing this will be a hard game for Konya. Sorry for this short comment i didnt have time.. Good luck..

Re: Turkey Super Ligi 8-10 dec Today's matches are all no bets for me but maybe I can try under 2.25 for Rizespor - Sakaryaspor match although I'm not good at over-unders Kayseri Erciyesspor - Sivasspor This match is really hard to call. Just when we thought erciyes is on the verge of improving they lost again 3-1 when they were upfront 0-1. So I really don't know maybe they will win this match at home but I can't back them since sivas is also on very good form. sivas got some missings but they are no key players. also important note about this match is lorant is ex-coach of sivasspor so he knows some of the players and can take pre-cautions accordingly. could end under but the odds are not good. no bet. Rizespor - Sakaryaspor The match between my two relegation candidates (if they don't change in the break of course). Sakaryaspor will be without a coach for the last time in this match because they almost agreed a deal with giray bulak a good super league coach and but will only watch the game today. they played without a coach last week but they didn't lose the game. they have some kind of an assistant coach for now. it's told that they will transfer some players according to new coach bulak's needs. They are missing defender suat usta due to ban and kinda important midfielder alisen. also musa and rasim won't play. they depend on cangele up front which is a quality player but mostly they have a hard time scoring rizespor wants to win at home because they should win matches like this to avoid relegation. If the handicap were 0.25 I could have take them but they can spoil it with a draw again because they just don't know how to score. I think they need more options upfront or they will definitely relegate. Again they will depend on Altan's creativity but one man doesn't make a team. They will again have a hard time scoring. since both teams do I can take under 2.25 here with 3/10 stakes since I believe over-unders are like blackjack. you really need luck in them so good luck. Besiktas - Kayserispor : Besiktas again couldn't put out a good performance last week against ankaraspor which is a solid team actually. again they couldn't put pressure on ankaraspor and didn't have many chances except for a last minute bobo effort which came off the crossbar. They also have leverkusen match in mind in which they have a chance to qualify from the group. A very important match indeed. Also Besiktas had always suffered from teams managed by ex-besiktas players. Ertugrul is one of them and with this stat taking place in the media, besiktas players will feel a pressure. Maybe they win but I need better odds to back them. they will miss delgado(mid) and gokhan zan(def) both important players. Kayserispor is on form lately and they will have last year's top goalscorer gokhan unal back for this match. I don't know how he will play after the injury but he has a really good finishing and if kayseri can catch besiktas on countre-attacks they can even win the match. I'm not backing kayseri because this season they had really bad matches against the other top two clubs. so no bet here also GL for today mates:hope

Event Ankaragucu v Fenerbahce Selection Fenerbahce -1 (Asian Handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 08/12/2006 Bookmaker/Price Betfair @ 2.06 (Back) Reasoning Again worth backable odds for fenerbahce. very good odds actually. Ankaragucu was on form but they don't have enought depth in the squad. They don't have many variations too although they have hikmet karaman a very good coach for small teams. again they will be trusting their attacking line especially ceyhun but last week they were held by sivasspor and didn't look good before their red card. after the red card weirdly they started playing better and almost equalized in the last minute. They had a really good support at home but this match won't be played at home because of their ban. This match will be played in Izmir. Fenerbahce beat my team very luckily imo but in the end they beat and they increased the gap between us to 7 points. They have really good morale right now and they must win here so that the win against Galatasaray can make sense. There are no teams in the super league from Izmir this year so the fener fans in Izmir are delighted that this match will be played there. They are preparing to create a great atmosphere and most probably the stadium will be filled mostly by fener fans who have the chance to see their team once in a while. And that situation must effect fener too and they should be motivated to give those fans a good win with lots of goals. I think fener will at least win which will get us our money back and since ankaragucu defense is not very special it could be by two goals in something like fener stadium. GL. -

Re: Turkey Super Ligi 2/12 Mehmet Yozgatli the right winger of fenerbahce won't play in the derby due to injury in training. I think he's an important injury because he has always been a trouble for galatasaray in the right wing. But I don't think it will change the outcome because they have decent replacements.

Gaziantepspor striker Diawara got a red card last week and de nigris got an injury. so if he doesn't play I will take Manisaspor because Antepspor will have a hard time scoring without those two and manisa could probably score at least one goal.

Event Fenerbahce - Galatasaray Selection Fenerbahce (-0.5) (Asian Handicap) Strength 10/10 Date 03/12/2006 Bookmaker/Price Pinnacle Sports @ 2.04 (Back) Reasoning the best derby for me in the world (because I am a Galatasaray fan) and this maybe the first time I'm tipping on a Galatasaray match. fenerbahce with their new coach is not impressing like last year but still they are a really strong force at home. They lost nobre and luciano maybe but they won kezman and lugano they are also very good players. When they play at home against Galatasaray, they have the utmost motivation with their fans. Their fans see this match as a war so they really effect the game (we can see red cards here too). They played a good game against celta de vigo but they were unlucky. And I never saw this team not winning against mine at home when they should win for at least 4 years. If they win this game they will really take an important step for the championship. They have no key injuries only mehmet yozgatli got injured in training but I think he will play. My team Galatasaray is playing very good. Especially the last match against sivas, I was in the stadium and I was shocked by how good we played in first 15 minutes. It was like Barcelona in yellow-red. But away games, especially fenerbahce away has always been a disaster for us and I don't see anything to change that for this match. Our defense is leaking goals again this year and against fenerbahce we will have a really hard time again since they can also score from set pieces in which we are terrible defending. The only way we can get 3 points in this match lies in being saved by angels and scoring an arda- made goal. I think fenerbahce winning is surely more than 50% so this bet is good value. Sorry but I will be happy if I lose this bet and I won't be happy if I win. But the ones taking this bet will be happy and this is what it's all about. GL cheers. -

Ankaraspor is playing good football against their own rivals. They have a strong character as a team and they are hardly beaten. But for this match it's a little bit different. They look like a team which don't know how to win matches and according to that they will have a hard time against one of the 3 big clubs. I think ankaraspor is unlucky to be facing besiktas now. They are really happy with the win midweek against brugge and they wanna build on that self-confidence and get a win here. First 3-1 win against an enemy bursaspor then beating brugge 2-1 at home and getting a great advantage for Uefa cup. Fans were great in both matches. So they are really high as a team right now. Also ricardinho started to play like ricardinho and get used to the team I think he will also feel happier than before and play better. There are some injuries in both teams but Gokhan Zan is the most important of them with a dislocated shoulder in besiktas defense. But I think if defense could hold against brugge without him (balaban) they can hold against ankaraspor. Only Runje can ruin this bet =). -

Last week they got three points away from a very motivated g.antepspor and continued their climb. Now this match became more important for Kayseri because if you are a team playing for european spot, you should beat a team like denizlispor. Especially if you got a nice away win last round. They wouldn't wanna ruin it so there will be high motivation. Coach Ertugrul Saglam invited every Kayseri fan to the match. And fans of erciyesspor and kayserispor are united fans. so there will be a good atmosphere. slightly injured galatasaray right back ugur ucar (on loan) probably will play. Denizlispor has a low morale from last week they conceded in 85 to lose 2 points against ankaraspor. Now they wanna get those points here but it seems hard to me especially after their latest injury erman guracar. They had striker injuries like selahattin and oliviera but Yusuf and his friends were able to score good goals. Now this erman injury is very important for denizlispor defense. and of course losing a good player like him would upset the team in an away game. Also Yusuf had a damaged foot but he probably will play. But be careful as Yusuf is not a strong and aggressive player and he would be muchly effected by that injury. And denizlispor without yusuf, I really can't imagine. If Yusuf plays good despite his slight injury then maybe denizlispor has a small chance of getting something here. I backed them against gencler and they were hammered 4-0 I bet against them in manisa game and they beat manisa 1-0 away. Now they are playing against rizespor at home with lots of injuries. Striker Eder is still missing and he is an important striker. Added to that Yordanov again won't play he is also a great attacker with high technique. Again another striker Ufuk who scored some important goals this season won't play. Sedat won't play Hard-working midfielder Batista is injured now they are without a complete midfield worker. Omer gundostu is suspended and goalkeeper ozden who saved a penalty against manisa has broken a small foot bone and probably he won't play either. These are very important injuries and will surely effect konyaspor's game. they will have a hard time as favourites here. Rizespor had a bad streak after they beat Trabzonspor and Galatasaray. They couldn't beat erciyesspor too and denied important 3 points which is like a 6-pointer. Their key player altan (playing more attacking side) told to press that their only problem is scoring goals and thats what they will try to do harder this game. I agree with Altan because they wanna stop this downtrend and once they score it will be really hard for konyaspor to score goals with these injuries. I think there's good value for rizespor not to lose who only misses cem baki as an important player. I trust Altan in this match.

Re: Classify Players (having trouble) Forgot to mention that I had the second highest pair when I lost ( highest pair in the flop). If I had not recorded him as a loose aggressive I wouldn't call his bet because he could easily have a pocket pair higher than my pair which was I guess a pair of sevens.
