Yep, the last part especially sums it up!

It is indeed a tough sport to find a winner from the outset, hence my personal approach. We see people on here talking about the course, the kind of grass, bunkers etc. There are others who seem to bet on a single player like it’s their favourite lottery number lol. Then there are those who make the most basic comments. The site says this is where experts reside...so where are they lol

Cheers SN....honesty is rare these days...and I reckon you’re spot on. Be interesting to see if others see it the same way, esp as you’ve now let the genie out the bottle. Btw, I’ve noticed you don’t make much, but at least you’re in a very very small camp that does bring home the bacon occasionally. None on here can make a similar claim mate!

I get that...but why bother posting your tips/bets. What’s that bit all about?

Hi...not posted for a while. My results have been pretty average tbh over the last few months. I’m usually in the mix but rarely finding the winner. Looking at others results, it seems they are no better off, and considering this is meant to be a place where experts are supposedly holed up leaves me to believe that experts is in name only. It begs a very simple and basic question. What is the purpose of posting tips/bets here? In other words, if there is no gain (other than ego), then what is the objective? If anyone, moderators and posters alike have a sensible answer

  7. There are always hard luck stories mate. There are not many sports that have such fine lines of success and failure as there is in golf...it’s the way it is, one minute you’re looking good, the next you’re out of the running. It’s happened to me many times, and whilst it’s disappointing, we just have to get on with it or call it a day. In other words, there’s no point dwelling on what might have been mate!

A good start for this series with McNealy placing at 60/1. It won’t mean much though unless I can achieve reasonable consistency of returns as mentioned previously. Week 1 2.44 stake returns this week 1.44 0verall p/l stake returns

Ok, back to posting my selections/bets. My goal is to achieve a return (place or win) with greater consistency than previously, ie ideally some kind of return at least every 3 weeks. I’ll post my selections for the next 4 weeks and re-assess at that point. As previously, I will be making my selections once I see which players are up for it, which for me is usually after round 2 has finished. I have modified my selection criteria also, which will hopefully yield the improvements that I’m looking for. Enough waffle..lets get on with it. AT & T Lewis 22/1 e/w 4 pl
