I see four of us had a go at the 2.45 at Newton Abbot and none of us successful with mine finishing 3rd. The winner i was happy to not have him top of my ratings as I didn’t fancy his chances much, but he goes and wins well.

Thought Kauto The King was a touch unlucky there to have his momentum stopped by being cut off by other horses bypassing the second last . May not have won but found himself in a bad position there. My selection Fat Sam fell and I’m not surprised , his jumping was very erratic from the first fence onwards. Looked a bad fall but horse/jockey ok .

It’s not hard to notice that some class 2s are far weaker than others and a quick look at the prize money and the calibre of horses in the race shows you that.

Yes, OK.  There does seem to be a big overlap in the classifications.  Hope all goes well with your new class measurements

I once used a prize money won strategy to pick my selections . It was promising but never stuck with it which tells you it wasn’t all that in the end , but I’d definitely consider using it again to form some  part of a rating for a horse

They shoukd have run better than that ....races like that do my head in ......but it happens I think sometimes the racing gods have a laugh 😃. 
I'm just putting the finishing touches to class rating .....I want to narrow the bets to 1 or 2 from top 4 so I'm programming the computer to give me a class rating for each of  last 3 runs so it will hopefully come out like this

As you can see in this case Horse a woukd warrant a bigger bet with b and d as dangers . .  Its a work in progress but it shoukd help in long run hopefully 🙏

As in previous years we will be running a tipsters competition for Glorious Goodwood, Tuesday 1st August to Saturday 5th August.
 
Rules:
1 selection per race throughout the competition Bets settled to £1 level stakes - WIN Only Bets settled at SP Highest accumulative total over the competition wins £100 cash (via PayPal) Runner Up wins £40 and the third place wins £20, all prizes via your PayPal account There will be a £10 prize each day for the highest profit for that day No edits allowed in selection posts Losses incurred for losers. Replacement selections for NRs can be posted but must be before the first race deadline All Bets must be posted prior to the first race each day (no exceptions) Not compulsory to enter everyday or every race (so if you miss the first day or two you can still take part) Leader-board posted each evening A minimum of 14 bets is required to qualify for the total prizes Only bets on that day's thread will be included, bets posted eleswhere will not be included
