Curragh 05:10 NORDIC PASSAGE
f/c. 3/1
Stake = 10 pts. WIN
been a while fingers crossed
The start cost him . Bolted through in the end, but left himself too much to do. Definitely one to be on in its next race.

Good luck rich lad

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, variance in the results atm will be just the same as the beginning of any season,
Very true . With everything that’s going on, it’s made it even more unpredictable. Might test it everyday next week without parting with my cash and see how it looks then.

A terrible start to racing for me too. I’m still trying to find a system that works for me. You lot will laugh but what I did for yesterday’s racing was find the top 3 highest prize money races excluding the 2000 Guineas. I then rated horses in the field by last years RPR ratings that they were given per race. Added them all up then divided them by how many races they had in 2019. The highest average would be my pick, or the top two highest rated. Terrebellum won her race at short odds but other than that it didn’t really show I was on to anything .

£20 treble Newmarket
Terrebellum 2.25 6/5
Waldkonig 3.00 4/5
Pinatubo 3.35 4/5
6.2/1

Newmarket 1.50
Shades Of Blue 9/2
Major Jumbo 6/1
Ornate 22/1 e/w
Newcastle 2.40
Withhold 3/1

Well.......Pretty cut and dry this one ......brando .....5/1 ......can back ew at that price
1 Top prizemoney race
2 Rated all horses
3 Class rating ..total win prizemoney / number of wins then divided by100
Ive also done a recent class rating myself (last 24 monthes )...brando comes out top on that too
4 Recent form ...add up last 3 runs form figures so 213 =6 ......0=10
5 Rate 1 i used rpr racing post
6 Rating2 i used topspeed
7 Then score each section the highest class gets 1 point .....next 2 pts etc
Recent form ...lowest score gets 1 pt ...2nd lowest 2pts etc
Rpr ....highest gets 1pt ....2nd highest 2pts etc
Speed ...highest gets 1pt ...2nd highest 2pts etc
8 total up scores .....lowest is best
And thats it in a nutshell
Richard, do you still use this system? I ask because I’ve noticed your picks are the highest number not the lowest.

Newmarket
1.50. Dazzling Dan 4/1
1.50 Staxton 20/1 e/w

Mostly just what’s on the card, and write ups, but I sometimes watch replays if I get time. Most on here will tell you to watch replays and they are right, you should. I try and watch as much live racing as I can apart from if it’s all weather, as I don’t usually bother with that.
-
I look at them after I’ve picked out my horse, so I don’t get influenced by it. Nowadays I prefer to put a bit of work in myself, so if I lose its down to me . Now and again I might have their Nap of the day if I like the look of it. I check their Nap of the day most days. I only tend to bet on Friday and Saturdays as I just don’t have the time to properly look into racing everyday. Paul Kealy of the RP sometimes does a banker of the day on a Saturday. I usually go with that.

Big fan of your ratings. Not had a bet today, but enjoy seeing how your selections do.

Crap day for me. The first and final bet of the year on the AW.

Roger Fell seems to have his horses primed ready for today. He runs Tricky Dicky in the 3.20. 11/2 as we speak . Ben Curtis on board.

Jim Goldie thinks he has improved and is well handicapped:
He finished 2nd off 67 over 6f last time at Newcastle with a jockey i've never heard of so with Tudhope booked you would think this ready to do the business. I think anything like 4/1 is great value!
i'll probably back it...
I definitely see more positives than negatives. I’ve already backed him, so hopefully he does the business.

I like the jockey too. The only downside is that it’s record fresh isn’t very good if I remember right.
