The way I pick horses I think it would be difficult to grade them 1pt/3pts/5pts, with regard to increasing stakes on higher odds I think I will probably get bitten when I have a long losing run, I'm going with level stakes and increase my bank overtime.

The answer to that is simple NO you only back selections from the PL list that are Price quoted at4/1 or above, if the selection is quoted at 2/1 and then drifts to 4/1 or above this is NOT A SELECTION, alternatively if a selection is quoted at 4/1 but when you go to bet it is lower say 3/1 it is in my opinion still a selection and I still back these no matter the price the system is solely based on the quoted prices on the PL Selections List, you can alter these selections as you wish if you want to change the parameters that is anyones perogative

1 selection per race throughout the 3 days at Aintree Bets settled to £1 level stakes - WIN Only Bets settled at SP Highest accumulative total over 4 days wins £60 cash (via PayPal) Runner Up wins £25 and the third place wins £15, all prizes via your PayPal account. No edits allowed in selection posts No losses incurred for losers or Non Runners Replacement selections for NR's can be posted but must be before the first race deadline All Bets must be posted prior to the first race each day (no exceptions) Not compulsory to enter all 3 days (so if you miss the first day or two you can still take part) Leaderboard posted each evening All welcome

I commented on a thread a few days ago about whether specialising in sprints was a good idea, and the subject of 7 furlong races came up (asking if they're classed as sprints). I said I'd post something if I found any merit in a 7 furlong system. It's a specialist distance and because it's such a specialist trip I thought we could find some good things from it. 
So could be haphazard but he's what I decided to do and what I found out...
With the theory of some people are better at their job than others I decided to look at trainers in profit over the last four years at 7 furlongs (flat turf only) and only took runners that had 2 or more races in the last 90 days, as a fitness precaution really.
Paul Cole: BETS 49, WINS 9, SR 21.95%, PL +36.75
Luca Cumani: BETS 29, WINS 7, SR 24.14%, PL +8.26
David Loughnane: BETS 49, WINS 9, SR 18.37%, PL +50
Gary Moss: BETS 22, WINS 6, SR 27.27%, PL +22.88
Martin Smith: BETS 18, WINS 5, SR 27.78, PL +93
Mark Walford: BETS 21, WINS 5, SR 23.81, PL +21.25
And the four years combining every trainers runner under those rules were

As I say this could turn out to be haphazard, maybe the trainers style of preparing horses suits the 7 furlong runners, or perhaps they are just better at understanding it's a specialist distance and what it takes to win at it. I will continue to add to this thread through the flat season and see where it takes us.
