New Abbey Angel....from Keith Dalgleish yard the 5yo has been a winner at 1m 2f on polytrack but that win was over two years ago when he was with Gay Kelleway yard winning at Lingfield in 2016, Keith got him later that year and mainly ran him on turf although did give him a Newcastle AW 7f when he finished 3rd beaten 2.75 lengths , His last four races here came in four different distances finding two 2nd place finishes a 7th in his longest distance 2m and his last race 16 days ago over today's distance he finished 3rd beaten 2.25 length with young jockey Rowan Scott claimed 3lb that day off 52 mark , The horse had some problems in that last race having run with head held high and hung left from over 1f out, soon ridden and stayed on the fact he goes off same mark 52 but yard bring in experienced jockey Joe Fanning in suggest to me the yard feel he might at last get that win for yard

With the Tizzard yard going well this could be the day Quiz Master gets his reward for some very consistent performances. One of his best runs this season was here over C/D on decent ground. He runs off the same mark as last time when a good third at Chepstow in the mud and looks like a solid EW bet to nothing.

Dawson City....from Polly Gundry yard who is a local trainer in Ottery St Mary only 10 miles from racetrack at Exeter ,the 9yo has also got a old hand in riding him in Andrew Thornton who was a regular on horse from 2014 when first set hoof on a racetrack till 2016 and only had a couple of rides since with his last run being 36 days ago with Andrew in saddle ,

That last run was at Wincanton Somerset National Handicap Chase 3m 2.5f heavy only beaten 3.75 lengths by Themanfrom Minella although up in distance for this race over 3m 6.5f and 2f more than he's ever been but is down to 127 for this race and not the heavy condition today the soft going may help get into the frame and Andrew Thornton rolling back the times when he use to guide him who's won two hurdle races and a chase from 3m to 3m 1f on soft and heavy ground

Going back to a novice hurdle for a change and I fancy Bulkov from the in form Micky Hammond yard. The 6yo had some very useful form France before coming here and was actually given a mark of 139 for his UK debut. Unfortunately never turned out that good but has won here and been second at the track (with todays rider on the latter). The overall form is better than his main rival Bal De Rio and i'll be surprised if he doesn't finish in front of that one, win or lose.
