  1. Quiet day today ..... 720 South Alligator alley 8.8 11/8 Army of india 8.4 9/1 Silkies wilky 8.2 9/2 These 3 are clear of the rest but alligator is 11/8 so too short especially with other 2 in such close proximity.....I'll try 6 x rev forecasts all 3 ...if alligator and silkies forecast might just get back stakes ....but on psper it shoukd be army and alligator which woukd show a profit .....bit of fun bet on quiet day ..?

  2. Fontwell 1235 Mombassa debuts in the juvenile hurdle. David Maxwell has shelled out 250k for this listed winner and is living the dream by taking the ride. If you saw Dolphin hotel get home on Saturday you'd realise he is a decent jockey but not top or even middle rank. If this horse is a free running sort he may struggle to restrain him early doors. Hopefully he can do enough to keep hold of this decent prospect and get round safely. Arachnamara Wholeofthemoon Mombassa Combination trifecta Tramore 1245 Gaelic Warrior reappears in this maiden hurdle and spurns the opportunity to run in his own class having just missed out in the boodles in March. That form has been roundly franked by Brazil last month and at 1/14 is unbackable. There are question marks as to why Willie Mullins has opted to ran at this lowly level and in true Gigginstown fashion Gordon Elliott has risen to the challenge by withdrawing Timmy Tuesday fancied IFIWEREARICHMAN has also dropped out and this lets in A FORTUNE OUT WEST and the puzzle will be completed for me if jack Kennedy who was on Timmy Tuesday takes the ride. A FORTUNE OUT WEST Each way 28/1 or better ( bog) Gaelic Warrior is unbackable, but must have had training setbacks, was prone to wandering at Cheltenham which cost him the race. Sure to be on his own out front and vunerable in my opinion.

  3. Just looking towards the weekend ....First pass of gold cup through the computer has thrown up... IL RIDOTO as a good ew bet to begin with ....can get 6/1 .. I really was interested to see what woukd pop up especially if it ran well in paddy power and he finished 4th in said race...job done.....I have a feeling that might not last so I'll have an antepost 10pt ew to start

  4. Not the most inspiring day, just the 1 that looks potentially strong enough. 2.55 Utt - Sholokjack - 2/1 generally. A Novice handicap chase where all but the top of the handicap are - out of the handicap (the selection is 4lb wrong). However, he is having his 1st run after a wind operation, and is a winning pointer. Is potentially a decent chaser if the wind op has worked well.

  5. Slough v Concord A change of manager at Slough led to a win in the FA Trophy win, but back in the league and it has been two defeats. They not surprisingly lost to Ebbsfleet on Saturday, but more worrying has to be the 5-1 loss to Eastbourne the week before. It is just 2 points for them in their last 10 games now and they are really struggling. Concord have also changed their manager and as I highlighted a few weeks ago they have improved for the manager switch. Their only defeat in the last 6 league games was against Dartford and they have won 4 of those 6 games. Quite why they are as big a price as they are for this I don't know as they are in much better shape than their hosts right now and they are cracking value. Welling v Farnborough Welling started off very well and the ante-post bet on them was looking a fair shout, but their form has fallen off the edge of a cliff as they have won just once in 10 games. They have drawn 3 of their last 5 which isn't bad, but they are suffering a bit with injuries at the moment. I'm happy to back Farnborough again here as they were a bit unlucky not to win for us on Saturday. Their good form continues though so I think they can get back to winning ways here. Kidderminster v Chester For the first time since Setanta showed the play-offs back in 2007 we have a live National League North game on TV to look forward to. With a blank day in the World Cup BT are showing this game on Wednesday night and on Sunday lunchtime they are showing the National League South game between Braintree and Dulwich. It is handy they have chosen this game because I really fancy Chester. Quite how the bookies have come up with the prices they have for this game I don't know. The home sides only win in their last 7 games was a lucky one against bottom side AFC Telford. I mentioned when I backed Gloucester against them that they weren't playing well and they duly lost that game. On Friday night they only drew 1-1 against an Alfreton side who had gone down to ten men and had to put the reserve keeper in goal after their first choice got injured. They now host a Chester game who have won 7 and drawn 3 of their last 10 league games. They have scored 21 goals in that time, scored in every game and conceded just 7, 4 of which came in the 3 draws. As that shows they are in cracking form at the moment and their price is crazy as I would nearly make them favourites. At the price they are for me they are a max bet. Concord 2pts @ 5/2 with Betfair and Paddy Power (take up to 7/4) Farnborough 1pt @ 17/10 with Paddy Power, Betfair and Coral (take up to 11/8) Chester 5pts @ 11/4 with Bet365, Betfred and Skybet (Coral are 3/1 and take up to 6/4)

  8. A fortune out west The latest non runner at tramore 1245. The going cannot be great or the realisation that beating or even running close to a 134 rated maiden hurdler will set an impossible task for future races is clear. LUCKY ZEBO Each way Is the replacement selection for Henry De Bromhead. Gaelic Warrior has a much easier task now with just nine opponents but remains unbackable.

  12. Late to the plate today; just as well looking at the results so far. 3.25 Uttx Quick Draw 3/1 4.50 Sou Wadacre Grace 5/1 6.20 Sou Show Me A sunset 6/1 1 x 0.50 ew Trixie = 4 pts poss return of 140.08 Singles and Savers 3.35 Font Ray's The one 1 pt win at 11.5 4.50 Sou Makinitup 0.50ew at 12/1 and Ranes 1 pt win at 5.9 = 7 points ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Disappointing that Show Me A Sunset was unplaced, it meant that I only got 1.60 return for a 4 pt outlay. Ray's The One won well. I primarily chose it because it won the race last year from 7lbs higher and Beat The Heat was a non runner today. At least made a profit of 5.89 which brings my MTD down to -16.09 and YTD is -279.53 An interesting class 3 at Lingfield in the 3.25 and a Class 2 and a Class 2, 2mile handicap in the 8.00 at Kempton. I wonder if Richard @richard-westwoodmay be tempted

  13. I’m being more selective with my bets from now on . Leave most of the midweek stuff unless it’s a decent class 3 or higher. Going to also narrow it down on Saturdays to a max of 4 races. 4 selections and also bang them in a lucky 15 or Yankee depending on the odds .

  26. As someone with an antepost position on penalty shootouts and who has persisted with the notion of backing the draw in all knockout games I'm hoping for a couple of stalemates to finish the round off! I'm on Olmo and Asensio as anytime system bets.

  27. a few years ago, Morocco vs Spain ended up 2-2. worth going for a draw 2-2 or 1-1. Morocco have been playing very well whereas Spain is not like how they used to be. I feel Spain might win in Extra time or Penalties.

  34. It was so close to a total sweep yesterday. I'm still not sure why Japan's players were repeatedly taking the same awful types of penalties! Anyway, we go again! It's the final two games from the last 16 on Tuesday when Morocco play Spain and Portugal take on Switzerland. Walid Regragui's men must be thinking how harsh the World Cup is given they topped their group yet still have to face one of the favourites in the next round in the shape of La Roja. I'm anticipating this to be a very closely fought and tight encounter. Spain head coach Luis Enrique clearly feels there is a chance this could go all the way because he's stated in the media about how he has set his players the task of practicing penalties since their elimination against eventual winners Italy from the 2020 European Championship last summer via penalties. I think Spain could maybe sneak it within the 90 minutes. The loss to Japan in the final group stage game was probably a well-timed reality check. The second and final game of the last 16 will see two experienced tournament sides in Portugal and Switzerland go toe-to-toe. I can't see either team going all the way but they both know how to go deep into tournaments. Neither team has really set the world alight but have enough quality to ensure they are tough to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled each other out in this one and it went all the way to penalties. If I had to pick a winner then I'd say Portugal but even they are suffering from Cristiano Ronaldo's ego with head coach Fernando Santos stating he is unimpressed with the team captain's attitude. So all is not well in that camp and that can be a death knell for even the best of teams. Interestingly, they two nations have already met twice this year in the UEFA Nations League with a win apiece. Ronaldo himself has failed to score a goal in the knockout phase of a World Cup as well. 41. I am with you !!!!!! Croatia is a team with a better technique and much more experienced, but Japan faced Germany and Spain very effectively. Its about a disciplined and very good to the physical type of game. Maybe we see the surprise here. In the other match it will be an easy night for Brazil.

  42. Don't apologise. All about opinions. Croatia are favourites for a reason. I just feel that given Japan have already upset the odds twice this tournament they are worth the risk. What a story it would be!
