  4. Wish I'd got time to rate this but on way to work .....not sure what's going on at Taunton...advertising ...good watered ...but going stick is 5.8 to 6.0 which is soft .....I think some courses are misreporting goings to stop trainers pulling horses out cos I'm seeing it a lot lately ..... In this race the horse I was interested in was notri pari....he's soft ground horse and has been crap over fences but is a,way better hurdler and is coming back to hurdles now on a good mark .....won't back him blind so I'll watch this one with interest

  5. Thurles 1.35 Gordon Elliott is on a hat-trick so probably not the best time to oppose him. But his two runners include the favourite a course and distance winner. So if the favourite romps home you are covered so long as Racheal Blackmore follows at a respectable distance.

  11. The ITV cameras roll on to Newbury for their two day Coral Handicap Chase (Hennessy/Ladbroke Trophy in old money) meeting with five races covered and the ground likely to ride on the soft side of good. Let’s hope it stays like that and we have no reproduction of the Ascot debacle from last Saturday. Here’s my thoughts on the five races. Newbury 1.20 A rarity for ITV with a 2m 4F novice hurdle kicking off proceedings today. It may end up to be between the Paul Nicholls trained Stay Away Fay and Nicky Henderson’s Russian Ruler. Both have been the subject of glowing reports from their respective handlers. Stay Away Fay is making his rules debut but was an impressive winner of an Irish point to point at Lingstown (3rd and 4th won since) last December and was bought at the Cheltenham December sale for a cool £305k. Apparently only workmanlike at home and taken time to get fit so today my preference is for the Nicky Henderson trained Russian Ruler. Henderson stated recently that he thought he would be a top drawer novice hurdler last season but he didn’t come to himself and was a tad disappointing. His breathing has been done and is expected to be amongst the front rank of the Henderson platoon of novices this season. The only winner in the contest is Chris Gordon’s I’ld Like To Know but he has to shoulder a 6lb penalty here. Dan Skelton’s Heezer Geezer ran well at Aintree last month on his hurdling debut and is another to consider but it’s Russian Ruler and the local team of Henderson and De Boinville for me. RUSSIAN RULER 2 points win @ 11/4 bet365 Newbury 1.55 A small but select field of five assemble for the grade 2 Berkshire Novice Chase. A warm favourite here is the Paul Nicholls trained Stage Star who impressed when winning on his chase debut over course and distance 24 days ago. That was his second start at the Berkshire track having won the prestigious Tolworth Hurdle last season over hurdles. He looked good last time and will be hard to beat if in the same form. His biggest danger may well be Nigel Twiston-Davies’s Carlisle scorer Beauport. He was all out to win the Colin Parker Memorial Chase that Sunday from a strong field and will not go down without a fight although the 5lb penalty he occurred for that win weighs heavily against him here. Camprond is actually the highest rated of the quintet on hurdles ratings but came down at the first on his chasing debut last week and has to prove his jumping here. Sebastopol and Wonderwall make up the field but may find this too hot. Paul Nicholls remains in top form and can take this with his six year old novice who could be quite good under Harry Cobden. STAGE STAR 3 points win @ 4/5 William Hill Newbury 2.30 An intriguing six runner 2m 4F class 2 handicap chase is up next where a case can be feasibly made for each of the runners. Beakstown hasn’t won as often as his ability suggests but this looks a good opportunity for the Dan Skelton trained nine year old. A well backed winner at Ayr in the spring he ran well on his re-appearance in the Old Roan Chase at Aintree when beaten just over three lengths by Riders Onthe Storm. The second and third that day were subsequent big race winners Hitman and Ga Law giving the form plenty of substance. A run of that nature should see him go very close today under the trainers brother Harry. Heather Main saddles Numitor but he has an absence to overcome and runs off of his highest ever handicap mark. The trip maybe on the short side nowadays for the Henderson runner Caribean Boy whilst top weight Paint The Dream ran as well as could be expected when fourth to Bravemansgame at Wetherby in the Charlie Hall Chase. He may be the biggest threat to my pick Beakstown. BEAKSTOWN 1 point win @ 3/1 BetVictor Newbury 3.05 Six have declared for this year’s renewal of the Long Distance Hurdle run over three miles. Many a good horse has won this contest including the likes of Baracouda (twice), Big Bucks (four times), Inglis Drever (three) and in more recent years Paisley Park three years ago. He’s back again but is rising eleven years of age now and we may have seen the best of him although he does have claims. Proschema impressed when winning well at Wetherby in the West Yorkshire Hurdle last month by ten lengths from the re-opposing Thomas Darby. He has obvious claims although doesn’t want any rain as he is clearly better on good ground. Thomas Darby is 6lb better off for that beating and did win this last year so must have some sort of chance here as well. The best in at the weights today is Nicky Henderson’s Champ who although also rising eleven has a very good record fresh with form figures of 1211121 when racing after a 100 days or more absence. 4th in last season’s Stayers Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival he’s partnered by his usual partner in Jonjo O’Neill Junior and can give Henderson another winner at his local track. CHAMP 1 point win @ 9/4 William Hill Newbury 3.40 Despite a fair sized field of fourteen this three mile class 2 handicap hurdle doesn’t have that much depth to it. The front pair in the market today raced against each other last time at Cheltenham two weeks ago when the well backed Padleyourowncanoe fell four from home forcing Shearer to unseat. It was too far out to say who was going best and both have claims again today. Paul Nicholl’s Shearer was chasing a hat trick following a brace of three mile novice hurdle victories and can go well although has to carry the steadier of twelve stone as the second youngest horse in the field. Harry Skelton’s Padleyourowncanoe is very well treated on his back form and is the one I prefer today. Best outsider may turn out to be Emma Lavelle’s Flemcara who was runner up last year and can race off of 5lb lower handicap mark. A few of these have been chasing recently with the likes of Press Your Luck, Fidux and Pileon easy to overlook. Paul Nicholls saddles a brace in Time To Tinker and Barbados Bucks with preference for the latter although I’m a bit miffed that stable number one Harry Cobden appears to have chosen the former. The King’s Steal A March has also to be respected for Nicky Henderson racing here following a layoff of 174 days. A tight contest with preference for the Skelton’s Padleyourowncanoe. PADLEYOUROWNCANOE 2 points win @ 4/1 William Hill

The other interesting runner here is Irascible ridden by Racheal Blackmore and I take this runner to place at least . (Three places.) You never know what goes on in that yard and they have landed some huge touches in the past and this autumn.

  18. I feel that this is the group that is the most wide open. Portugal are probably slight favourites but they're always prone to making hard work of the group stages before growing into the tournament. Uruguay also have that tournament experience. South Korea and Ghana are the slight underdogs but we've seen already how much of a surprise the hugely unfancied teams can have so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw two very tight games here. 19. Uruguay/South Korea Draw @3.60 Uruguay in the World Cup always tends to be a cagey affair. This is a rematch from the R16 back in South Africa won 2-1 by Uruguay with a late stunner from Suarez. Amazingly several of Uruguay's players from that match may start tomorrow with Muslera, Caceres, Godin and Suarez. Uruguay have a strong squad from top to bottom. Experienced defenders along with a strong workman like midfield. The midfield does lack diversity, Bentancur, Valverder and Vecino are similar players. Can they carve out enough creativity from an ageing Suarez and De la Cruz? South Korea meanwhile have quality down the middle of defense with Kim Min-Jae who has outperformed the departed Koulibaly at Napoli. Son is always capable of something especially in a tournament where you only need a few moments of quality. Both teams will play this close to the vest, Uruguay typically understand how to navigate these groups. They will want to put themselves in a position to progress vs Ghana on matchday 3. South Korea will also be content with a draw, knowing they could put themselves in a prime position with a win vs Ghana.

The problem with him is his mentality and his physical conditions. He relapsed from his knee injury, that's why he's not here. @CzechPunter When I and @Foo_Fighter made our initial posts, USA was at 1.61 (bet365). Now, odds have dropped to 1.28 (bet365).

    NFL - Week 12

Dallas/NYG Under 45.5 An NFC East matchup for Thanksgiving day. The Cowboys fresh off destroying Minnesota last week while the Giants stumbled vs the Lions at home. The Giants will be missing 4 Olinemen, which doesn't bode well vs the best pass rush in the NFL. The Giants have played game close to the vest most of the year, and they will try and do the same here. I can't see them moving ball consistently with a depleted OLine. At the same time the Giants have played solid D, a bend but don't break unit. The Cowboys should be able to establish the run, whcihc means the clock will be running most of the afternoon. The offense will realize the Giants will be smothered defensively and they won't open up the playbook in this case.

  31. Brazil vs Serbia Brazil starts the World Cup as the strong favorite ahead of France and Argentina to win the title. The five-time champions have not won the competition since 2002, but they have reached beyond the quarter-finals in three out of the last four editions. Once again, Brazil comes into the World Cup with a star-studded squad that is capable of beating any opponent on their day. A Seleção, as always, have immense pressure on their shoulders to win the World Cup both from football fans and pundits around the world, even more so back home where football is the most important thing. They enjoy a seven-game winning streak, being unbeatable after an unsuccessful Copa America finals in the summer of 2021. Serbia looks to get past the group stages for the first time since 1998, when the team reached the round of 16. Since then, Serbia has consistently been unable to get past the group stages. The task does not get any easier for the 2022 edition in Qatar, as the team opens up the competition with a game against five-time champions Brazil. Serbia is the big underdog coming into the game, but Dragan Stojkovic will be looking to use that status to his team's advantage. The Eagles have been in good form lately, winning three times in a row and failing to celebrate just once on the previous six occasions. Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction Although Brazil is a favorite in this game, Serbia is a team that can pose severe troubles. It is going to be a close match, and Brazil should win by more than a goal. Goals Market Prediction Both teams have very talented offenses, and they should be agile on the opponent's halves. Therefore, it won't be surprising if we see at least a goal in each net. Serbia AH +1 @ 2.10 BTTS Yes @ 1.95 Correct score 1:1 @ 8.50

  32. Portugal vs Ghana Portugal had to come through the playoffs, and this has resulted in a long journey for the European champions. The main focus on Portugal will undoubtedly be on Christian Ronaldo. Even if the domestic form of the Manchester United superstar has been mixed, he has frequently delivered goods for the national team cannot be argued. The numbers are impressive for the 37-year-old, with 191 caps and 117 goals, and with this likely to be his last World Cup, we expect the Portuguese star to go out with a bang. However, A Seleção should avoid any signs of complacency. They've lost twice in the last four matches but were confident against Nigeria in their final check before the tournament. Ghana plays a very competitive brand of football that does not place emphasis on an individual player. Unlike in the past few years, Ghana does not have a star-studded squad. The national team was able to advance from the African qualification group by slender margins. The team may not have a lot of expectations coming into the World Cup after having failed to reach the 2018 edition while also failing to get past the group stage in 2014. Still, the likes of the Ayew brothers, Partey, Amartey, and Rahman, will be looking to help guide this young side to a respectable finish. The Black Stars had a successful check ahead of the World Cup 2022 by beating a respectable Switzerland side 2-0. Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction Ghana is a pretty disciplined team, and despite being favorites, Portugal won't have an easy job. Therefore, we don't think the African team will lose by more than one goal. Goals Market Prediction Although BTTS No cashed in the last three Ghana's and five Portugal's games, we expect an entertaining match. The crowd should enjoy goals in both nets, and the odds are pretty attractive. Ghana AH +1.5 @ 1.75 BTTS Yes @ 2.30 Correct score 2:1 @ 9.00

  34. This could prove to be one of the tighter groups. After the way a couple of bigger teams have struggled I'm not sure Brazil will have an overly easy time in this group. I still think they should qualify and top the group but the chances of them ending the group with 9 points is slim. Switzerland will need to beat Cameroon here. The Swiss are a very difficult team to beat but they are also a dogged team in the group stages. I agree with the draw picks. I still think Switzerland are probably favourites but the price isn't attractive at all given what has already happened in these cautious openers from the favourites. In the second group game, I also wouldn't be surprised to see Serbia sneak something against Brazil so the double chance looks very tempting. 35. I can't help but feel Hazard is only starting on reputation lately. Trossard is the much more in-form player and even though he ultimately didn't re-produce his Premier League performances last night he still looked livelier. Hazard looks a shadow of the player he once was.

  36. I agree, not so much with Portugal/Ghana as I don't rate the Black stars. Brazil/Serbia will be an in game bet for me since I don't know what to expect from the Serbs, loads of quality but always disjointed when it comes to the big tournaments. Uruguay/South Korea definitely.

  37. Switzerland/Cameroon Draw @3.40 The draws have begun to come in the tournament. Switzerland are squad that draw many matches in the big tournaments. They have a solid compact squad and frustrated Italy twice in qualifying. They will rely again on Embolo and Shaqiri. Freuler and Xhaka provide stability to the midfield. The Swiss will be lery of Cameroon's pace and physicality. Anguissa has been one of the top midfielders in Serie A with Napoli. Onana is arguably the best keeper Cameroon has ever fielded, Choupo-Moting has been bagging goals for fun with Bayern. Like any draw, you need either team capable of cancelling out the other. I see this being the case in what figures to be a tense opener.

  46. I'd assumed it was meant to be Wales rather than a top-up on the USA game. While I'm on my high-horse about iffy behaviour (i.e. after-timing) you're not supposed to edit the posts with the selections in. I'd say that's even more important in a trading thread (a little tweak of the price could turn a losing trade into a winning one). Whilst I don't suspect you of dishonesty in those respects you end up leaving yourself open to those suspicions if you edit your bet posts.
