  2. 15.20 Yarmouth Shaara 2pt EW Won comfortably LTO in an albeit easier race. Actual weight today is 11lb less than that race, so should go well. Last race also proves capability at this distance. She also won at this course last year on similar ground, so a lot to like. 15.35 Sandown Sinjaari 3pt Win Of the seven, only four have a rating over 100, the others looking like unlikely winners of this race. The selection was badly placed LTO, but finished strongly. His last win was here at Sandown at the same distance. The horse he beat into second in that race has won since at Deauville.

  12. We have some Darts this weekend. The "Jack's World Series Of Darts" kicks off on Friday and is played in Holland. Johnny Clayton beat Van Den Bergh last year but he most certainly has had a slight decline in his form and Price is the unsurprising favourite. I am going with 3. One from the bottom half, which is Joe Cullen and 2 from the top, Van Den Bergh and Danny Noppert Van Den Bergh likes this event, reaching the final last year and hitting 100+ averages in all but one match. He also has some good form recently and has a consistency about him now in the big events. Cullen is in a bottom half that I'm keen to take on and he has come off a win at the Hungarian Darts Trophy. He can beat anybody on his day, Joe and 14/1 seems fair. Finally, I'll take one Dutchman, in Noppert. His form isn't as hot as it previously was but at 33/1 he is a big price for a man that was in blinding form not too long ago and can mix it with the best on his day, too. 2pts e/w Van Den Bergh to win WSOD 19/2 paddypower 1pt e/w J Cullen to win WSOD 14/1 bet365 1pt e/w D Noppert to win WSOD 33/1 betfred

  22. The Punters Lounge £150 added Poker League starts again this week for September, running for 4 weeks on Wednesday nights. The £150 added by PL is shared between the top 3 in the league at the end of the month. Games start at 8.10pm, with a 20min late registration period on top of this. All games are played in the PokerStars Home Games PL Poker Club. The format is a NLHE 3000 chip tourney in Legs 1 & 2 and a 5000 chip NLHE for final leg. Leg 3 is our PLO Leg with 5000 chips. > Leg 1 : Wednesday 7th September at 20.10 BST in the PL Poker Club Home Game - NLHE 3000 chips > Leg 2 : Wednesday 14th September - NLHE 3000 chips > Leg 3 : Wednesday 21st September - PLO 5000 chips > Leg 4 : Wednesday 28th September - NLHE 5000 chips - (double entrants in points formula)** Buy in is $5.50 per leg. Your top 3 scores of the 4 legs will count towards your league total. We will be using the usual PL poker league format, which will be updated in this thread. (The PokerStars own league scores will not be used.) Formula is -Log(position/Entrants)x100 To help boost numbers overall and in particular in the final leg we are continuing the system of doubling the number of entries used in the calculation in leg 4 (**so if 10 entries the formula will use 20 entrants). This will increase the number of points available in the final leg to make it more competitive. All members are welcome, however you must post in this thread if asked to let us know your forum username, otherwise your placings and scores cannot be included in the league. New players are always welcome to join in, so please spread the word and invite your friends to the forum so we can keep the weekly numbers up. £150 Added Value The £150 added will be split between the top 3 players of the league end, with £75 to the league champion, £45 to 2nd and £30 to 3rd. This will be payable via PayPal at the end of the league. Big thank you to Punters Lounge for the added funds. The league winner will also get Punters Lounge merchandise. Punters Lounge MerchandiseYou can now win unlimited Punters Lounge merchandise, even if you have won them before. It consists of our logo mug and pack of 10 pens. NFL - Week 2

NFL Week 2 Predictions These are my bets please do your own research. First Bets (1) Panthers to win against the moneyline @ 11/10 The Giants did well to win their match against the Titans 21-20 and the Panthers just failed against the hard hitting Browns 26-24. Both of these matches were run heavy games and this will be very similar. It will be Squaon Barkley versus Christian McCaffrey. My vote goes to Christian. (2) New England Patriots to win ATS -1.5 points @ 10/11 The Pats always lose at Miami, so no surprise there last week. They will get back to 1-1 against the Steelers minus TJ Watt. (3) Browns to win ATS -6 points @ 10/11 The Browns will use both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to pound the football. Jets will struggle to score. (4) Raiders to win ATS -5.5 points @ 10/11 The Raiders were made to look average by the Chargers but I think the Chargers are one of the best teams in the NFL. The Raiders defence did well against Herbert. (5) The Titans to win ATS +10 points @ 10/11 Am I crazy? The Bills were impressive when defeating the Rams. The Titans lost to the Giants. Why am I supporting the Titans? The Bills losses last season came against the Steelers, Colts and New England all teams who like to do battle. Titans are very similar and they have Derrick Henry. Bet: Following Harry’s wise advice 10 x 1 point trebles 5 x 3 point 4 timers 5 point accumulator 30 points staked All prices Bet365 Second Bets (6) Bengals to win ATS -7.5 points @ 10/11 Bengals QB Joe Burrow will not throw four interceptions again. Dallas were already declining from last season without Dak Prescott being out. (7) Saints to win against the moneyline @ 13/10 Whilst Tampa blew out Dallas they only scored one touch- down, whilst the Saints only got started in the fourth quarter of their match with the Falcons. I still think of the Saints as a bully team and remember the Saints defeated Tampa twice last season (8) Green Bay Packers to win ATS -10 points @ 10/11 Betting against Aaron Rodgers is not usually advised. So I shall pick the Packers who are 22-2 at home over the past three seasons. If the Packers defence plays up to its billing I can’t see the Bears scoring double figures. (9) Bronco’s to win ATS-10 points @ 10/11 In their last four home matches in the 2021 season the Bronco’s won 2 beating the LA Chargers 28-13 and the Lions 38-10. Their two defeats were by the Chiefs 28-24 and the Bengals (reached the Super Bowl) 15-10. The Texans will not be coming into Mile High and causing an upset against a much strengthened Bronco’s team. (10) Ravens to win ATS -3.5 points @ 10/11 Both of these teams provided me with winners in week 1. As usual Miami beat the Pats in Florida, but they will find the Ravens a lot tougher on their home soil. Bet: 10 x 0.5 point trebles 5 x 1.5 point 4 timers 2.5 point accumulator 15 points staked Week 1 Record W6 L4 Staked 45.00 returned 36.80 for an overall loss of 8.20 points.

Surface is an unknown and a worry is if Dettori gets easy lead and they go no pace as there doesn't appear much pace in the race. Worth small e-w for me at the price.

  30. Rather like Frankel....its hard to tell. Or in team parlance...."you never know how good they are until they are not there". Or "who did he beat?" All refering to a A) the triumph of his opponents B) deduction of the "collective" lift calculated in. Things can look a bit different then. Sinndar beat previous "best in the world " Montjeu in the Arc and subsequent "best in the world ", Sakhee in the Derby. Rock solid GOAT credentials. Frankel beat....well he best something but nobody can remember the name. Baaeed beat something...Mishraff. well that's been done by other horses often enough... Arkle by his defeats of GOAT rival Mill House and his defeat of Stallbridge Colonist giving 30lbs away ends the Jump Racing GOAT stone dead for all time. Arkle 1st.....the rest nowhere. BUT flat racing? Hard to say. Subtract the collective advantage. Top trainer...top owner...top stable staff...top sire...top dam...best horse wagon, best food, best gallops and what are we left with...? ...Phar Lap? Why not? Most of us old timers give it to Brigadeer Gerard....because of his ultimate sole defeat by Derby winning Roberto and the subsequent great victories of his 2,000 Guineas runner up...in the Derby and the Arc. As to Baaeed he will be destined to join Frankel in the "but what horses did he actually best?" category and fade out of our memories as quickly as he arrived. I suspect.

  33. Chelsea vs RB Salzburg The Champions League group stage games continue with their second round schedules on Wednesday night. Next up, we have the 8pm BST kick-off between Premier League club Chelsea and Austrian Bundesliga side RB Salzburg from Stamford Bridge. Both of these teams dropped points in their opening group stage game so the importance on getting a win could not be overstated. Chelsea begin another new era in this game with newly appointed manager Graham Potter taking charge of his first game at the club. The Blues took the controversial decision to sack Thomas Tuchel after their surprise 1-0 loss away to Dinamo Zagreb last week. The move to bring in Potter has happened swiftly and with Premier League matches postponed over the weekend due to the death of Her Majesty the Queen this will be his first outing in the dugout. Potter will have to deal with being without the key duo of N'Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy. It is just 1 clean sheet in 7 matches for Chelsea this season so far and it'll be interesting to see if Potter addresses the defensive issues that ultimately cost Tuchel his job. Chelses are unbeaten at home this season and have scored 2 goals in each of their home matches this campaign. RB Salzburg remain a team that seem to unearth gems from across the globe. The likes of Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, Patson Daka, Karim Adeyemi, and Erling Haaland have all donned the red bull colours. This current crop of players are also proving worthy of following in their footsteps. Head coach Matthias Jaissle has openly admitted his scouting team have had to do some digging to prepare for a Chelsea team under Potter by studying Potter's work at Brighton. Salzburg themselves have had a positive start to the season but it's not been flawless. League form has delivered 7 wins from 8 league games but they did suffer a 2-1 loss away to Sturm Graz earlier in the campaign. The team were also held to a 1-1 draw at home to AC Milan in their opening group game in this competition. The attacking qualities of Fernando, Benjamin Sesko, and Noah Okafor amongst others make this Salzburg team one that you can never write off. The fact that RB Salzburg have scored in each of their competitive matches so far this season and that both teams have scored in Chelsea's last 6 home matches played suggests we should see goals here. Let's be honest, it's very tough to work out how Potter will set up with this Chelsea team. He's barely had a week with the players, he's got influential players missing, and it's uncertain if his methods that he used at Brighton will work with this group. RB Salzburg could rightly be smelling blood here. I know it's unlikely but for the price being offered I think backing RB Salzburg to get something here is certainly worth taking a chance on.
