Well, Stricker beats Hurkacz in 2 TBs! As I expected his game suits perfectly on grass. I'm amazed with how Stricker played the crucial points... He even finished the match with style, with an ace!

  7. Hi, still keeping an eye on how it's going. One point I'd make from a "house-keeping" viewpoint, you should still be quoting the stake for each bet as you post them. "Double fun bet" isn't really adequate, people reading your latest post should be able to see what the stake it without having to work it out or refer back to an old post where you explained your various stake levels.

  9. Hills and betfair are offering player of tournament and winning team doubles. The last 6 winners of the player of the tournament have played for the winning team, also 5 of the 6 were midfielders, as follows in reverse order: griezman, iniesta, xavi, zagorakis, zidane, sammer. I fancy france to win and think pogba and kante are decent shouts for the accolade. Selections: france and pogba 80/1 betfair sportsbook france and kante 50/1 hills (your odds france)

  10. With reference to the Place Backing system; I'll post todays selections here today. There is a max price of 20.0 on the BSP for selections. Just to note that selections above this are profitable but there are longer losing runs which can be off putting but we have had places come in at 65.0, 44.0 and we had one at 29.93 as recently as yesterday (the one that placed at 65.0 actually won at 636.48). You'll note there are more than one selection in most races so we end up with a lot of selections daily. For those interested in "how the selections are made" its based around trainers form, then its class specific, course specific, and race type specific. I recommend a SMALL stake increase after a losing day, so if its €10 place back today per selection and its a losing day, we'd move to something like €10.50 or €11 tomorrow. 10 Jun 2021 13:00 NOTTINGHAM Global Romance 10 Jun 2021 13:15 NEWBURY Single Minded 10 Jun 2021 13:35 NOTTINGHAM Harry Haafhd 10 Jun 2021 13:35 NOTTINGHAM Moonlit Cloud 10 Jun 2021 13:35 NOTTINGHAM Totally Charming 10 Jun 2021 13:45 NEWBURY Seattle Rock 10 Jun 2021 13:45 NEWBURY Thefastnthecurious 10 Jun 2021 14:20 NEWBURY Grey Sonata 10 Jun 2021 14:35 YARMOUTH Aylesford 10 Jun 2021 14:35 YARMOUTH Show Yourself 10 Jun 2021 14:35 YARMOUTH Sir Gregory 10 Jun 2021 16:55 YARMOUTH Amalfi Salsa 10 Jun 2021 17:40 UTTOXETER Sol Plum Creek 10 Jun 2021 18:00 HAYDOCK Corinthiano 10 Jun 2021 19:00 HAYDOCK King Of Gold 10 Jun 2021 19:00 HAYDOCK Mr Professor 10 Jun 2021 20:40 UTTOXETER Motherslosttheplot 10 Jun 2021 20:40 UTTOXETER Pollypockett 10 Jun 2021 20:40 UTTOXETER Pop Mistress 10 Jun 2021 20:40 UTTOXETER Rachel Louise 10 Jun 2021 20:40 UTTOXETER Sporting Scopey

  11. Italy vs Turkey Personally I do not agree with bookies who suggest Turkey is such a huge underdog with coefficients for their win reaching 8.00 this morning. They managed not to lose against France and Germany in past two years which is a serious accomplishment. I am not saying Turkey will win tomorrow, but I expect very cautious game from both sides and feel like difference between those teams is not as big as it is indicated. Italy is a very solid team, without any superstars, but they made excellent qualification campaign together with impressive recent form. They usually start slowly at big tournaments. Therefore, it should be either very narrow win for Italy or a bore draw. Unable to decide between both options, I will go for safer bet and back under 2.5 goals. Karatsev/Vesnina to beat Krawczyk/Salisbury at 1.74 with Unibet Decent price on the better team here. Vesnina has made a successful comeback to protennis and is likely a contender for the Tokyo Olympics Mixed doubles gold probably with Karatsev again. Her russian partner is playing tennis on a level way higher than Salisbury nowadays and he set the tone in 2019 already on the challenger tour and had a deserved breakthrough in Melbourne. Huge stake on this bet and I'm just gonna pick it as a single.

Mate, I could be wrong but I can't imagine Djokovic beating Nadal. The only thing I'm not sure about is how much he will challenge Nadal. The way Nadal beat Djokovic the last year was too severe and not too many things have changed since that match. The only difference is that this time both players will play in the same conditions. The last year Nadal had an easy draw and he reached the final without dropping a single set while Djokovic had to play a 5 set match (3:58 h) against Tsitsipas just before playing the Final. I would love to see an epic 5 set match but I think Nadal will win 3-0 or 3-1. The only player that I really think that can beat Nadal is Tsitsipas. We'll see...

  25. This evening Castleford v Hull FC looks likely to be a close game in hot conditions given that both sides have had a quick turnaround. With Marc Sneyd (in particular) and Danny Richardson in oppostion there could be a bit of value in a drop goal being kicked. Available at 100/30 with Coral and Bet 365. [Have also taken Hull (-3.5) at 10/11 on the handicap].

  35. Netherlands They play poorly in these years. They have not been in UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup. After Frank de Boer has taken charge of them, they are getting well. They have been unbeaten for four matches. Ukraine They make progress under the management of Andriy Shevchenko. They play poorly in FIFA World Cup qualification because of injuries. As the injury situation is improving, they are getting back in form. Verdict: Netherlands take the upper hand over Ukraine in every aspect. But Donny van de Beek and Virgil van Dijk are absent due to injuries, which has an impact on their playing. It is predicted that Netherlands will take one point from Ukraine at least in upcoming game. Prediction: 1-1, 1-0

oh no, chances are slim that Zverev cleans up his second serve issues and that will cost him when Tsitsi goes for the shots. The fresher one doesn't always win as you might have learned by now. Sascha has treated his problem with second serve but not cured it.

Tsitsipas (-1,5 Sets) to beat Alexander Zverev at 1.83 with betfair Zverev has been the luckiest guy of the whole tournament. He was in the same quarter than Thiem and Ruud but he hasn't faced any of them. Besides, in his last match he played against a player that was out of steam. Fokina played two 5 set matches (Van De Zandschulp and Ruud) and a 4 set match (Delbonis) before playing against Zverev. He said that he was physically broken after his match against Delbonis. He said he couldn't even put his socks on and he also said he had severe back pain. Obviously, these were not the best conditions to play against Zverev and that's why he was severely defeat by the german. IMO, Tsitsipas' way to the final (Chardy, P.Martinez, Isner, Carreno and Medvedev) has been tougher than the german's way (Otte, Safiulin, Djere, Nishikori and Fokina). Zverev is 14-3 on clay this year. He won in Madrid, where the conditions are better for him, but the greek is better player on this surface. He's 21-3 on clay this year and he has only lost against Nadal, Ruud and Djokovic. He has won 2 titles (Montecarlo and Lyon) and he reached the Final in Barcelona. Tsitsipas has a clear dominance over Zverev (5-2) and he showed an incredible mental strength at beating Medvedev (3-0), a player who always has dominated him (6-1 before this match was played). IMO, if he plays a decent match he should beat Zverev. Stricker to beat Hurkacz at 2.6 with Pinnacle Hurkacz has done absolutely nothing since he won in Miami. He has lost the last 4 matches he has played. He retired from Rome due to some kind of physical problems and then he lost in a 5 set match against Van De Zandschulp. I did not watch that match but he won the first 2 sets in 2 TBs and then he lost easily the next 3 sets so it seems he was not in the best conditions to deal with that match. I don't know how Stricker plays on grass but he definitely has the skills to do well on this surface. He has already played one match here. He beat Albot in 2 sets (7-6, 7-6) and Albot played the qualification (O'Connell and Ruusuvuori). Stricker beat Cilic and Fucsovics in Geneva 1 month ago so I think he can also upset the pole. Stricker is unexperienced at this level so I take this one at low stakes.

I am even more tempted to go with Krejikova after reading a comment like this. Losing money in style is the natural default state of a gambler so one will not be doing anything really different going with a favorite like Sakkaraki as you have preferred to call her. Sakkari has always looked like this female Lion that you have described. It certainly did not come into view after her victory over Iga. And by the way Iga had been long overdue for a heavy defeat as players were now beginning to catch up with her game. This is something that every player has to go through till they rediscover themselves a second time, We saw that with players with Muguruza, and recently with Kenin, Vekic, Kerber . Some players never quite make it back like Bouchard. In what has certainly been a very erratic and strange tournament I almost feel the best way forward is to only play with what you can afford to lose then aim to lose it in style to have a chance of winning. I strongly feel that Krejikova is the best on the field left especially with her very convincing 2-0 h2h over Sakkari. the set score in both cases will clearly suggest that Krej is master. Nothing would have changed much. I feel the bookies much have had some balls to make Sakkari favorite. Anyone who beats the tournament favorite should be favorite in their opinion. After all What do they care if such thinking has the potential to drown a few unsuspecting punters.

  39. RESULTS UPDATE Another blank day for me today. I felt a bit unlucky that Mystic Court fell and then the favourite got beat so I didn't get my money back on the 2.45 at Fontwell. The net loss on the day was £18. My new balance is £867.85 (Bank £1,056.22). Four more flat meetings in the UK tomorrow and one over the jumps. Instead of insurance bets on the favourites I will try one/two Trixies on what I feel the best favourites have of winning their races at shorter odds. I will quite happily back horses for £2 at 11.50 and above all day long. Let's hope I get a winner or two tomorrow

  43. Hi All, interesting comments & thanks for posting. With regards to " I didn't know the reasons that I was backing the horse " I fully take that on board but in reality if the horses were winning you would not be asking this question - you are now questioning the logic solely due to the poorer form of late. The system is down 41 units to flat stakes since 1 Jan 2021 up to and including yesterday. From August to December 2020 the system was up 48.6 units. So the assumption is; in 2020 I'm a genius and in 2021 I'm a chancer. In reality the system is showing the following results for the last few years; these are Win Backs, profits are shown at Betfair SP, less 2% commission. 2017 +236 pts 2018 +64 pts 2019 +169 pts 2020 +231 pts The annual strike rate is consistent; 2017 to 2020 reads 24%, 23%, 24%, 28% 2021 is not hugely off this s/rate but the prices obtained have been less - I would expect this to turn, profits to come in, as in previous years but there is no guarantee of this naturally. I have no idea how many are following this thread; how many are tracking the runners, how many are backing etc but if there is no demand to stay posting here then I have no issue ceasing as it all takes my time. Here's todays selection for anyone interested. 9 Jun 2021 14:45 FONTWELL Mystic Court

  44. Wales vs Switzerland OK, before I write this preview I want to put a disclaimer. As a Welshman, I have this understandable pessimism and superstitious having suffered from disappointment and failure down the years. So out of all my predictions it will probably be the Wales matches that are the least trustworthy! Anyway, here we go! It's Wales versus Switzerland in a 2pm BST kick-off this Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan. Wales head into this European Championship dreaming of re-creating the historic achievements of the 2016 tournament when they reached the semi-finals. 5 years on and the preparations for this campaign have been slightly less settled with the ongoing court case against head coach Ryan Giggs meaning caretaker gaffer Robert Page has been asked to take the reigns. Injury concerns over key players Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies have also meant the team have been unable to field their full strength squad until recently. The Dragons face a tough challenge getting out of this group but have every reason to be confident having qualified for League A in the UEFA Nations League and enjoying an encouraging start to their 2022 World Cup qualification campaign. Results may have suffered from a lack of consistency but the disciplined displays have continued. Switzerland are now one of those nations that know how to qualify for major tournaments. The Swiss have now qualified for the last 4 World Cup tournaments and 4 of the last 5 European Championships. Head coach Vladimir Petkovic remains in charge of the nation he has managed since 2014. In 2016, they reached the last 16 but were eliminated having not suffering a defeat in regular time during that tournament. The Red Crosses have won their last 6 games including the 3-0 walkover against Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League. However, before that run of wins it had been 7 matches without a win so there are still some questions remaining about how far the team can go in this tournament given the opposition in their recent run of victories haven't exactly been top ranked sides with their opponents including Liechtenstein, Lithuania, and Bulgaria. There is no denying this Switzerland squad still boasts experience and quality with the likes of Yann Sommer, Ricardo Rodriguez, Fabian Schar, Granit Xhaka, Xherdan Shaqiri, Haris Seferovic, and Mario Gavranovic but does Petkovic still have the ideas and influence to get the best out of these players. If Wales are going to win a group game at this tournament then it's going to be against Switzerland. This fixture feels a lot like the 2016 opener against Slovakia where the result here will undoubtedly dictate what sort of tournament we have. If we win then I feel it could give us the confidence and self belief to get something against Turkey. If we lose or draw then I think we're facing an uphill battle. My heart says I think we can beat this Switzerland side that has probably passed its peak under Petkovic. They remain a very dangerous and tournament experienced side. However, we have players in Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, David Brooks, and Daniel James that have repeatedly delivered when it matters on the international stage. There is very little separating these two teams. My heart believes Wales can win. My head thinks that it could well be a draw and if Page gets anything tactically wrong like not starting Kieffer Moore up front then we could suffer a defeat. I think I'll even go as far as to say I'll tell you if I think we'll get something from the game or not based on his starting line-up. If Moore starts, we could do it. If Moore begins the game on the bench then we're going to struggle. Draw @ 3.15 with SBK Total Goals Scored Over 1.5 @ 1.62 with SportNation

  45. Turkey vs Italy The 2020 European Championship kicks off on Friday night when Turkey play Italy in Group A at 8pm BST from the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. It's a very unique tournament with no official host nation but this game will see the Italians play on their home turf. Can a team that are being touted as potential dark horses by a few people spring a shock opening day result on their host opponents? Turkey are a nation I feel have the ability to rattle some cages in this tournament. Head coach Senol Gunes has built a team that have become very tough to beat. In his first stint as head coach of the national team he led them to the semi-finals of the 2002 World Cup. As I mentioned in the outright winners thread, they are unbeaten in 6 matches and have lost just 1 of their last 13 games. A number of standout results over the past year or so include beating Norway 3-0, defeating Netherlands 4-2, and earning a 3-2 win over Russia. One other key indicator of how resilient this Turkish side is comes from the fact that since the start of 2020 they've also avoided defeats against the likes of Serbia, Germany, and Croatia. If the back-line can perform at its best and they can give the service to talisman Burak Yilmaz then this Turkey side will go toe-to-toe with any opposition. Italy come into this tournament being tipped by many to be in the final reckoning. As a host nation, they will play all their group games on home territory but with fan numbers restricted it'll be interesting to see how much of an advantage they gain from that. Head coach Roberto Mancini has got the Azzurri playing very efficiently at the moment. It's now 8 games won in a row with 8 clean sheets achieved during that run. They stormed to the top of their UEFA Nations League group to set up a semi-final tie with Spain in October. They are also on course to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after 3 wins from their first 3 qualification group matches. It might have been 15 years now since Italy last won a major tournament after their 2006 World Cup win but you get the feeling that with this resolute defence, a well-balanced midfield including Marco Verratti and Nicolo Barella with the potency of Ciro Immobile up top there is quality right through this side. I think this opening game will be a tense affair. I genuinely feel that neither side will want to lose and even though Italy will be the favourites I think they know that Turkey could be their toughest opponent in this group so a draw wouldn't be a disaster. It goes without saying that Turkey will also feel they should pick up a win against either Switzerland or Wales so a point here would be a dream. I'm torn between backing a dour 0-0 draw or backing Italy to sneak a narrow 1-0 win. I think I'll go for the latter but it's going to be a tight game. 46. Love that! Turkey were a lucky streak for my mate during that 2000-2008 period where they caused so many upsets at major tournaments. I remember we were at a Glamorgan T20 cricket match when Kahveci Nihat scored twice in the last 3 minutes to seal a 3-2 win over Czech Republic to see them pip their opponents to that second qualification spot in that group to earn him his qualification from group payout. He'd also backed them to go far at the 2002 World Cup. What a team they had back then though!
