  1. Good evening everyone! As most of you will know, it's been a challenging few months for everyone connected with the site and forum after the tragic losses of both Paul "Sir Puntalot" Ross and Graham "BillyHills" Sarson. There is no denying that things will never be the same around here without them. The process to find someone to help carry on the fine work that both Paul and Graham had done over the past 20 plus years was going to be a near impossible task but a task we were faced with taking on. I am pleased to announce that we have made the decision to appoint three new individual

  2. 7.15 Newcastle - Be Proud - 8/1 Notable that decent claimer Oli Stammers is on Be Proud for the first time this evening. This gelding is a frequent visitor at Newcastle and often runs well here. His two career victories have come over this course and distance off marks of 54 & 62. His last two runs have been here, over 5f in October when 5th off 69 (only beaten 1 length) and then over 6f a couple of weeks ago also off 69, was beaten a good 4 lengths that day but I wouldn't take too much notice of that as 5f is his trip. He's been dropped another 2lb for that down to 67 and Stammers ta

  3. Tuesday was a bit of a mess all round with the Havant and Dorking games being called off and switched and then finding draws rather than winners when it came to the bets. Saturday's fixtures look tough, but there are 4 matches which appeal from a betting point of view. Kings Lynn v Dover Dover look in desperate trouble this season. It is amazing they beat Notts County on the opening day of the season because they have lost 6 of their following 7 games. They have scored just 6 goals and conceded 22 and had another heavy defeat on Tuesday night against Woking. Kings Lynn have had a ver

  5. Dominic Thiem to beat Novak Djokovic at 2.32 with Pinnacle Novak Djokovic covered the -3.5 handicap against Zverev, but he's going to face a much harder task against Thiem. Thiem has played consistently well when it mattered so far and it's not tough to see that he was saving himself when he was facing Rublev yesterday. I get why Djokovic is the favorite here, but I'd honestly take everything above 2.00 on Thiem. He's been the better player and Djokovic hasn't played like the world's number one for quite some time now, so no reason to have him as such a big fav imo.

  9. 11.35 Lingfield - Stay Classy - 8/1 I backed this one last time at around 16/1, there was a bit of money around for her that day and she was backed into around 10/1 at one point. That race was over 7f at Wolves, she got a very wide trip under 5lb claimer Angus Villiers and then finished really well into 2nd. Steps back up to a mile here today which looks sure to suit and has Adam Kirby up this time which can only be a positive. Looks a good ew price and would be surprised if she wasn't involved in the finish.

  10. Ascot stage an enthralling card on Friday and here are my early thought’s :- 12.20 A no play race from a punting perspective but it’s the chase debut of Nicky Henderson’s Chantry House who has schooled excellently and despite the fact he is rated a 3lb officially inferior horse to danger Pic D’Orhy his stable will be very disappointed if he doesn’t win this. A race not to miss. 12.55 It could be Nicky Henderson’s day at the Berkshire track with TIME FLIES BY the most likely winner. A Cheltenham bumper winner he ran twice over hurdles last season with his trainer stating in

  13. Don’t bother with grade 1s unless it’s the big festivals. Might be tempted with Bristol De Mai, though. Now 5/2 and in my eyes the one to beat. Just cannot see Clan Des Obeaux winning. Usually needs the run and not sure this track and test of stamina will suit even though he’s won at Haydock before but in much calmer waters. Lostintranslation will be sure to give it a good go, and is probably the best horse overall in the race, but hasn’t had a prep run this year and I can see Bristol De Mai being a tougher nut to crack this year. I’ll be backing Clan for King George, would consider backing

  23. I don't get why Man City are odds on to win at spurs. Spurs have done well against city in recent meetings in both the PL and CL, and won this fixture 2-0 last season. City have fitness doubts over Aguero and possibly Sterling, and while you still have to respect them, they will certainly be weaker if one or both of them aren't able to play. It's hard to know if players are fully fit after the international break, but as far as I know Spurs have no major injury problems, other than Doherty missing through COVID. That means Aurier starting which is a bit of a worry, especially if Sterl

  27. Millwall vs Cardiff OK, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and get this week's Cardiff preview up. This weekend, we're playing Millwall away in a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday afternoon at the Den. The home side have enjoyed a very positive start to their new campaign with the play-offs firmly in their sights and they'll be looking to build on that progress against a visiting team that are struggling to find consistency this season. Millwall find themselves in 9th place and just 2 points outside the play-offs. Gary Rowett has turned the Lions into a dangerous side in this division now.

  32. All prices Bet365: 12.20 Ascot - 1pt win Up The Straight @ 10/1 Has a bit to find on figures clearly but in a 3 runner race I think he's worth chancing. I think he's a 140 horse over hurdles on his day including in novice races last year but has a big engine and looks the type to do well over fences. Has a run under his belt this year when staying on powerfully in a hot handicap hurdle at Cheltenham and with the favourite returning after a break and the second favourite not convincing with its jumping last time, I think it's worth chancing the outsider here who has untapped potential

  35. It looks like the race distance has increased by a furlong or so in the last 2 years so I have extended my sample base to include 23/24f races. 7 out of 33 winners have had forecast odds of 8/1 or less compared to 4 from 117 with higher odds. This reduces the field from 19 to 4. 7 out of 52 came 1st or 2nd last time. This reduces the field to 2. My favourite NH statistic, age less than 7. There have been 68 horses 7 or older and only 1 has won. This leaves just one selection, IMPERIAL ALCAZAR. Currently available at 11/2 with 5 places available.

  36. totally agree on that. Tricky games today- thiem rublev feels like a trap game. Rublev was awful against Nadal but got his rhythm against tsitsipas. in the last meeting in Vienna they went toe to toe until thiems w.o. Thiem already advanced (last year he lost in the exact same situation) and for rublev it is a must win. Nada vs Tsitsipas i consider taken the over 22,5.. i even can see that going into a 3rd set. Tsitsipas likes the court in London and he gave thiem (who is my favourite at this point to win the tournament) a tough match. with his solid serve this should b

  38. Novak Djokovic (-3.5) to beat Alexander Zverev at 1.97 with Pinnacle I think that we can all agree that Djokovic was poor against Medvedev. Once he went a break down, he almost gave up, making tons of unforced errors and just going through the motions. This leaves him in a situation in which he actually needs to try against Zverev and I think that Zverev is the right opponent for him to get back. Zverev has been erratic so far and he'll give Djokovic plenty of chances if he plays like he did against both Medvedev and Schwartzman. There are stakes in this match and I think that Djokovic wi
