1.15 Doncaster - 1pt e/w King Ottokar @ 20/1 Bet365 Has plenty of decent form in listed and group races but hasn't been as good this season. That said, travelled best of all at Windsor last time on his first run since being gelded but was keen throughout and didn't pick up when asked. Hasn't been raced much over a mile but they'll go a decent gallop here and hopefully he can settle and be stronger at the finish today, 2.25 Doncaster - 1pt e/w Danzeno @ 9/1 Bet365 Should have won last time when hampered and has a handy 5lbs taken off his back today. Conditions are absolutely perfect - 5 1/2f is spot on and a flat track suits. Needs a bit of luck but if getting the splits and is on the right side of the track, should go very well. 3.00 Doncaster - 2pts win One Master @ 7/2 Bet365 Wichita has to bounce back but could well do so but there looks plenty of pace on here and that should play into the hands of Limato and One Master especially. The former had the race fall in his lap on his return and I think the mare can stay on best here off a fast pace. Won despite everything at Goodwood and although would prefer softer ground, ought to be going close from off the pace here. 3.35 Doncaster - 2pts win Galileo Chrome @ 4/1 Bet365 Deserting horses that have done well for me has worked so far in the 3yo ranks having backed Highland Chief at Ascot, Mogul at Goodwood and Pyledriver at York and again I'm going to take on Pyledriver who is a lovely horse but isn't short of speed and will just take him on as although he's hit the line yard over 1m4f, this is another 2 and a half furlongs to contend with and there are no stamina issues with Galileo Chrome. Most progressive, has form that looks strong on a line through Group 2 winning filly Pista and could land this having kept his powder dry so far this season.2 points -

Fulham v Arsenal I just don't like Arsenal as an away team. They fail to deliver all the time. In the last 3 seasons in away games against relegation candidates, they have won just 5 times in 15 games. Last season they failed to win 4 times (Villa 1-0, Bournemouth 1-1, Norwich 2-2, Watford 1-1). They managed a come from behind win over West Ham. In away league games against the top 5 teams (Chelsea, Liverpool, Man CIty, Man United, Tottenham, Leicester) they are pathetic, winning 2 games out of 34 over the last 8 seasons. For me you just cannot be firing money at this bet at odds of 1.59. I would be taking Fulham double chance here at odds around 2.5 Crystal Palace v Southampton My feeling is that Palace will be in trouble this season. They were just awful at the end of last season, and it is not so easy to switch it back on, and start winning. I think they could be relegated, and will be in big early trouble. Unlike Arsenal, SOuthampton have been great against relegation candidates. Last season they had away wins againts Villa 1-3, Bournemouth 0-2, Norwich 0-3, Watford 1-3, and lost 3-1 to West Ham. I think they have beaten Palace 3 times in 4 seasons away. So for me the away win looks solid, and the Away win and over 2.,5 goals is a possibility at odds of 4. Liverpool v Leeds I think Liverpool win here against a spiritedLeeds side, but I do see Leeds scoring. I feel a 3-1 or 4-1 scoreline on the cards. The Liverpool Home WIn and Over 2.5 goals at odds of 1.8 looks solid. Tottenham v Everton My feeling is that Tottenham are going backwards. I don't think Mourinho was a good fit for them, and the first part of the gamble (getting CL football) has already failed. I think this season could be a train smash. In 4 of the last 6 seasons they have only won 12 or fewer home games. A Championship winning team, or a CL qualifier probably needs at least 14 home wins. I think Harry Kane becomes more an more isolated as Spurs play a style that absolutely does not suite him. Spurs really struggle against those top 1/2 teams at home, winning just 6 times in 18 games (last 2 seasons). Can Mourinho get the best out of this squad? I don't think so. You can only go so far by stopping your opponent from playing ... eventually you have to play some football yourself ! Everton is a potential banana skin for Spurs here, and I would be going away double chance.2 points -

Hard to see much value in the finals for me. Osaka is better than Azarenka at the moment, though only slightly so. Meanwhile, Thiem has way more mental consistency than Zverev. You just feel that he's going to self-destruct in at least one set and start going downhill from there.1 point -

St Mirren v Hibernian. It doesn't matter who's in goals for St Mirren, Hibs should be winning this. Alex Gogic was a big miss in the last game against Aberdeen, he's back today to add some much needed steel in midfield. Scott Alan, who's been strangely out of sorts so far this season is out, replaced by new signing Jamie Murphy and Kevin Nisbit is back from injury after missing the last 2 games as Hibs revert back to 2 up front. That's 3 improvements to the team right there. After 6 games Hibs have still not conceded a goal from open play (2 penalties, 1 direct free kick so far), with St Mirren not exactly prolific in attack, 1 goal from Hibs could win this and we look strong in the forward areas today, I think we'll win comfortably. Great to have you posting on the Premier League games again this season, Neil. I agree that the price on an Arsenal win is too low. That's why I've gone for the win and BTTS. I don't think you should expect much of Fulham this season. Cardiff were a distinctly average side last season and we almost knocked them out of the play-offs. They then squeezed past a Brentford side that were renowned bottle jobs. If Scott Parker can get the likes of Anthony Knockaert, Josh Onomah, and Tom Cairney delivering then they stand a chance. Aleksandar Mitrovic won't get 10 goals this season. He's a proven failure in the top flight. In the same category as the likes of Dwight Gayle, Lewis Grabban, and Patrick Bamford as players that are decent Championship strikers but can't make the step up. I agree with your other thoughts too except Jose Mourinho at Tottenham. As always, we can't tell which sort of Mourinho side will turn up until the season starts. I feel he's learning from his previous lessons in terms of man management though and I think they showed signs at the end of the last campaign that they could do something this year. I still don't feel they've added enough quality but I think, in contrast, Everton have done too much too quickly.1 point -

Hey everyone! My bet for today would be on the match: Bouchard vs Badosa, at WTA Istanbul. Bouchard played excellent in the last months or so, I even won on her already many many times. Great service game, great returning, above average shot selection. (we've seen better from her obviously). As from Badosa, she's playing extremely solid in Istanbul as well. She likes clay, she's hitting well, and she tested to be tough to beat ( Hercog) In the match yesterday against Kovinic, Bouchard had several medical timeouts + interventions, pretty much seemed off in the last set( still won). I feel like the matches, tiredness start to take over slowly. My recommendation would be a prematch bet on Badosa at betting sites, which in case of a withdrawal still pays the winner. - 2.08 odds Also I can see a world where Bouchard wins the first set, then gets swept,/withdraws, so if you have the opportunity to follow the match live, I would also take any bet over 3-3.5 odds on Badosa.1 point -

yossa6133 reacted to StevieDay1983 for a topic
Birmingham vs Brentford The Championship action continues on Saturday with the televised game being shown at 12:30pm BST when Birmingham face Brentford at St Andrew's. Both teams endured campaigns that ended in disappointment last season and will be hoping for going a step better this time around. Can either side get things off to a winning start or will we see both teams cancelling each other out? Birmingham have long been a side that appear intent on self destruction. Owners Trillion Trophy Asia have already dismissed a number of high-profile and capable managers including Gary Rowett, Harry Redknapp, and Garry Monk preventing any sense of progress. Aitor Karanka has now been tasked with taking the Blues to the promised land and he's wasted no time in bringing in new faces. Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge from Cardiff, left back George Friend from Middlesbrough, midfielder Jon Toral from Hull, winger Ivan Sanchez from Elche, forward Jonathan Leko from West Brom, and midfielder Adam Clayton from Middlesbrough have come in to boost the ranks. The only major departure being the hot prospect Jude Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund. Even with those additions, Birmingham are going to need every bit of Karanka's defensive nous to tighten up their back-line and defy many pundits who feel mid-table mediocrity is the best this club can hope for. Brentford had looked like a side ready for the Premier League last season. Unfortunately, Thomas Frank's side missed several opportunities to pip West Brom to the second automatic promotion spot and eventually lost to Fulham in the play-off final. Preparations for this season have taken a blow with star striker Ollie Watkins departing to Aston Villa for £28 million. This transfer wasn't exactly a surprise so the Bees had already acted to bring in his replacement in the shape of former Peterborough front man Ivan Toney. Frank will be delighted to still have Said Benrahma and Bryan Mbeumo on his books but for how long? The signing of centre back Charlie Goode has also been made in an attempt to shore up that defence. The elephant in the room for this game is how Brentford will adapt to life after Watkins. It's not easy to replace 25 league goals at the drop of a hat. Will Toney score that many in his first season back playing at this level? It seems unlikely. So where will the other goals come from? Or will Frank be hoping to keep more out at the other end? Birmingham will be a difficult side to play this season. Karanka is notoriously progressive with his style of play. I think it's still too early for Karanka to have Birmingham playing the way he'd like so I think Brentford should sneak this one. I was really hoping I'd get egg on my face and Serena would win the whole thing, and after taking the first set against Vika 6-1 it looked as though she'd be making the final and getting the chance to avenge her loss to Osaka in the title match here two years ago. But it wasn't to be. In the first set she was finding her first serves and playing really aggressively, even going so far as to overturn 40-0 on Vika's serve to win the first set without needing to serve it out. Vika was strangely subdued and timid to begin with which I found really odd, particularly as she started pumping herself up and getting much more animated at the start of the second when she managed to avoid going a set and a break down - why she wasn't like that from the start I have no idea. As her intensity rose, Serena's serve started to falter slightly and Vika was able to break her in a game where Serena only found her first serve once. As if to illustrate the importance of her first serve, she failed to win a single point in the second set behind her second serve. Just like the start of the second, Serena got a look at Vika's serve at the start of the third and might have broken but wasn't able to. Serena then got broken from 40-0 after injuring herself towards the end of the game - an injury which required a lengthy MTO. By this stage, Vika was picking up Serena's first serve meaning that Serena couldn't get many cheap points on it, and although she was doing better on second serve those points were often longer and she was beginning to tire which meant she wasn't as mobile as she had been - the heavy strapping on her ankle wouldn't have helped with getting around the court either. By now it seemed inevitable Vika would get the win, and she duly served out the set and match without too many issues. For Serena, undoubtedly there'll be thoughts of what could have been. If her first serve hadn't deserted her for just one game in the second set there would have been every chance of a straight-sets win. If she'd been able to hold from 40-0 in the decider. If she hadn't made so many unforced errors in the decider the times she got ahead on Vika's serve. If she'd been able to conserve energy by winning more easily in the earlier rounds. As well as Vika played - and she did play well from the point her back was against the wall early in the second set - I don't think it was that difficult for her to get the win. The template for beating Serena has been in place for a while now and Vika ended up executing it perfectly - keep the ball in play, move Serena around and wait for the errors to come. I'd love to see Serena win another Slam but I don't see how it can happen when there is such a contrast between her high level and her low level, which seems to be inextricably linked to her serve. 'First serve' Serena is a thing of powerful, brutal and dominating beauty like 'Sunday' Tiger Woods. 'Second serve' Serena is as bad as 'First serve' Serena is good - watching it last night it almost seemed binary in that if the first serve went in she won the point and if it didn't and she had to rely on her second serve she lost the point. In the end, that was the key to the match. Serena wasn't great on second serve in the first set, but it didn't matter because she was so imperious on her first serve. Once Vika got a handle on her first serve and with her second serve still a liability, the match was only likely to go one way.1 point -

the Rangers team are going for seven shutouts in a row (not conceded a league goal since 4th March). and Dundee utd look to have issues in attack in the absence of their main striker so Dundee utd goals under 0.5 at 1.56 betfred Under 2.5 Goals is becoming something of a staple for St Mirren at home. Indeed, in the last eight here have seen this bet has land. Hibs aren't in as many goal-laden games either these days. Under 1.5 has actually copped in the visitors past four (only three goals scored in total in these matches). so under 2.5goals at 1.67 betfred the double pays 2.56 betfred the bet1 point -

I'm definitely on Newcastle at 3.5 to beat West Ham. Newcastle look to have recruited quite well over the summer, whereas West Ham unless i've missed it haven't signed anyone as yet, plus they lost a highly rated player (to West Brom of all teams) which seemed to upset some of the West Ham players. There seems to be some discontent in the West Ham camp and they just don't seem to be a team who are going to do anything other than be knocking around the relegation zone this season. Newcastle on the other hand I can see being somewhere around 10-13th as they were last season. Betting on the first week of the season is always a bit tricky but I like the price on Newcastle and think they have the better squad so going to put some faith in them. Other thoughts are West Brom to beat Leicester- largely based on how Leicester ended last season and West Brom having some momentum from being promoted. And i'm not sure why Wolves are such big favourites away at Sheff Utd. No result would surprise me in this game, so definitely some value in the price of the home team IMO.1 point
