    Sir Puntalot - R.I.P

I'm very sad to hear this. I worked with Paul for years and he was a terrific guy. Great to work for, always paid early and compensated very generously. He was courageous and defiant in the face of this battle. Just talked to him a couple of weeks ago and he was in great spirits, talking about his plans for the future of the site. This is all very sad and unexpected. My sincere condolences to his family. -Ben

  2. The next week of K-League games are coming our way this weekend. Here are the odds. It's a learning curve at this early stage so let's try and pool our thoughts together to maximise our wins.

  4. Bounty query, thanks for the input Paul and Dan My reasoning is that this is only for the duration of the extra added value, so is only short term. The extra money allowed me to put a good increase into the league leaving a little left over for this. I don't intend to withdraw money from our standard £150 added to continue it. I just did it with me as bounty, and that I couldn't win my own, because as PL admin I was giving something back to the members, especially as I'd managed to place in the league a few times recently. I didn't want to force it onto to someone else, (eg. last week's winner) as it does potentiallty change the dynamics of your game, and it wouldn't be fair to affect people's chances of winning the league prizes either one way or another. (It doesn't change my game, other than trying not to give it to Dan again!) Also the potential problem of the bounty not playing the following week. No-one was more surprised than me that I did technically win my bounty one week, but in my position I would have been very uncomfortable taking the money, especially as I wasn't giving anyone else the chance to be bounty!

  9. It's taken me a few days to compose my thoughts on this matter. I don't know Paul as well as a lot of you but over the years I have spent some time with him and found him to be the kindest of people. I think I first met him in very odd circumstances where he managed to blag PL some seats at a mini poker tournament in the middle of Leicester Square with the world boxing champion - Evander Holyfield of all people - you couldn't really make it up if you tried! Over the years I met Paul at many of the PL poker meet ups and got to know him much better - I guess as keen boozers we were destined to be drawn to the same fun pursuits! I think i got on well with Paul as we both shared the view of having a good time and not taking poker too seriously in these events - it was all about the banter and shots! This was to be a theme as I met up with Paul a few years later in Vegas where we spent some days enjoying all that Vegas could offer - beer pong, one armed ladies, 6ft long tequila slushies, $1k a hand blackjack and free flowing booze - what was not to like! This trip will always have very fond memories for me and i was very pleased to be able to spend some time with him at Birmingham recently at the PL meetup reminiscing about those times - him and Kayla i think were quite shocked that i had such a vivid memory and that i still had photograpghic evidence! Paul will be missed by all that knew him. He was a top bloke. He was the sort of guy that you don't see for a whole year but then you meet up and pick up as if you just saw him yesterday. Paul was a guy that loved to help people. He helped me on several occasions when there was nothing he was getting in return other than a thanks. I don't know a great deal about his business affairs but i do know that what he created with PL poker group was unique and will serve as his legacy. We have a lot to thank him for. RIP Paul.

  11. I log in to PL one hour after the tournament had began, and indeed late reg was still available, it was strange. Yet despite an early exit did not try to register again.

I might continue this again when the lockdown is over. Summer matches hopefully still in Europe will mean I can do some of them. Maybe a reduced amount compared to last time but we will see. Just need to wait for this virus to be under control then get going. I have been poring over stats and results again and have the itch. I hope everyone is staying safe!
