    Racehorse Syndicates

Morning all, might need some help here. I seem to have ESS (empty stable syndrome) it’s a recognised condition especially on owners group Facebook page. Now on Tuesday I looked at the racing pages for @Darran hunter chase preview and then noticed that @BillyHills had posted about Miranda shares being available. That was a easy decision having won some money on her over Xmas and got the wife to agree (she watched the race with me). Then on Friday saw @Valiant Thor post so yesterday was looking at the other horses. Had made up my mind to get Mark Johnston’s one, always liked him as a trainer guaranteed to find a horse to improve each year as a 3/4 year old over 1.2 - 1.4 mile. So when talking to the wife she said what others are available I was going to get you Cable Guy. ‘Why’ goes I, it’s a scruffy 2 year old. Well it’s trained by Charlie (we have a 12yr Chocolate Lab called ....) and the Dam is Diane’s Choice (my mum is called .....) so I now have Cable Guy. Now the dilemma do I still get My Friend Stan? It looks a promising type? Do I wait to see what others come along later in the year? How can you possibly make the right choice? How can real owners do this? This is worse than Fantasy Racing. I think I will get 5 or 6 to cover both codes and spread the interest over time, but how do you say no? Slightly off topic but had a strange thing happen yesterday had a Jockey get off my first selection of my 10p e/w Lucky 15 half way through the race @richard-westwood and instead of curse and swear I was actually pleased to see the jockey and horse were both ok, that would not have happened last year! Thanks to above Billy and Richard for two winners picked one from trends and the right Burrows along with silver sheen to give me 3 winners! Really enjoying this forum so many good ‘voices’ I am learning quite a lot quickly.

Great showdown, with a strong motivation for both teams. PAOK will be more concentrated after its defeat after some time, with no room for scoring losses. The AEK will try, with its defense, to hit counterattacks to get Tuba's result. Italian Carrera is defense based, so I expect a close game with few goals to have a major chance PAOK THESSALONIKI vs AEK ATHENS @@ +2.50 Under, odds 1.80 Very interesting battle in Lamia. The home team is in good shape and losing with difficulty. Olympiacos is having a difficult time at home and will not have an easy task today. The defenses will have the first floor today, after all, both teams are scoring low, with many under 2.5 LAMIA vs OLYMPIACOS PIRAEUS @@ +2.50 Under, odds 1.72

Brentford vs QPR The West London Derby is scheduled to take place as the early kick-off in the Championship this Saturday at 12:30pm GMT when Brentford host QPR at Griffin Park. The home side appear to be making a real push for the play-offs this season where as the visiting side will be looking to build on their impressive last league performance with another win to move back on up the table. Brentford have flirted with the possibility of earning promotion to the Premier League for a number of years now but it seems that this season the dream is a lot closer than ever before. Thomas Frank's side are 3rd in the table and even though they're 9 points behind 2nd placed West Brom they're putting the pressure on the automatic promotion contenders. It's now just 1 loss from their last 7 league games for the Bees. The club has won their last 6 games at home in all competitions. The club has also now won their last 4 home league games against QPR including hammering them 3-0 last season. If you want a cheeky anytime scorer bet then Ollie Watkins has scored 6 goals in his last 8 games. QPR were looking a little deflated just before Christmas. Mark Warburton's side were falling down the table having previously looked like potential play-off contenders. However, a 6-1 thrashing of my Cardiff side has firmly lifted the spirits at the club. The Superhoops are now in 15th place but only 6 points behind the play-off pace. A 5-1 battering of Swansea in the FA Cup 3rd Round meant it's now back-to-back demolitions of their opposition. The only issue being that their away form is inconsistent at best in a run that includes just 1 win from their last 6 away league games. I've been very impressed with Brentford this season. When Cardiff visited Griffin Park they really could have been 3 or 4 goals up within the opening 10-15 minutes. They play attractive football, they're getting the results to go with it, and I think we're watching a side that are only improving as the season is going on. I think Brentford will take the win in this one in a thrilling encounter. I was waiting to put this on Billy's chat thread for Monday but thought it was perhaps worthy of a bit of discussion given the "Altior" debacle this past week.Without going into too much detail the Altior situation clarified that the use of inside info rules are an absolute joke and at the very least a "Grey area". Ask the BHA about what constitutes inside info and all you will get is a referal to the rules etc. Absolutely unclear and by definition not fit for purpose, they knew there was an issue with regards to Altior because the trainer informed them he suspected someone had leaked information that he was unhappy with the horse. The effect of this was that the horse drifted and his stablemate was heavily backed for the race he was entered in. So basically the BHA could not give a monkeys about punters, they did nothing to alert the "General Public" who ultimately pay their wages including their "Integrity department". So I get "Information" on a daily basis and explained this to the BHA and asked for clarification to avoid breaching their rules, all they said was "See our rules". I have held back giving too much "Info" away to avoid getting anyone into hot water either with their employers or the Governing body aka BHA. At 5.20 tommorow a horse will run at Wolverhampton named DARING GUEST and it will run very well according to rumour, given a trouble free passage should go very close to winning just because his trainer has him in top shape and his jockey will be avoiding traffic. Add to that that there will be some money to back this up and you will not get the 14/1 at the OFF that is available now,no control over that obviously but an ew bet with some going 4 places is a bet to nothing if my "Inside Info" is accurate.

I think the 3.25 at Southwell looks interesting and The Right Choice or Requited might be the ones to be involved in the finish. The main problem is - I don't have a good record at Southwell. I'm having a small punt anyway - I don't like Gobal Hope or Al Suil Eile - their only wins so far have been on turf and on my ratings my 2 come out on top

Novak Djokovic to beat Rafael Nadal at 1.48 with Pinnacle I don't remember seeing odds this low against Nadal for a very long time, but I'm going to break my rules and back them nonetheless. He's struggled against worse players this week already, he's had quite a few long battles as well, and the main issue is that Djokovic is going to be doubly motivated, since it's very likely that Spain are going to take the first match. He lost quite badly against Nadal when the two last met and this is a great opportunity for him to put some pressure on his rival when he's not at his best.

    Non-League Predictions > 11th January

Given the 3 losers last week had 9pts bet on them between them it was a relief to come out with just a small loss on the day as at one stage it was looking like it was going to be a huge loss. With Darlington winning on Wednesday that covered the loss on Saturday (at best prices available) I will take that going into this Saturday's action. I have 7 bets this week with 6 in the league games and 1 in the FA Trophy. Previews to follow Billericay v Slough Granted they have only played 9 home league games this season because they have had issues with their pitch, but Billericay are yet to lose at home have won 5 and drawn 4. That is some going baring in mind the upheaval they have had this season and the fact they have struggled on the road. Having said that they were much improved at Bath last Saturday despite losing 2-1 and then on Tuesday night they beat the league leaders Wealdstone 3-1 at home. Slough are having a good season and are in 4th, but in their last 6 games they have won just twice and one of those was against Braintree so I think Billericay are more than capable of beating another promotion hopeful here. In my view they shouldn't be as big as 11/5 Hemel Hempstead v Havant & Waterlooville Havant have still yet to lose away from home and have only lost 3 league games all season which is the fewest in the division. They are the best side in the division, but as they did at Braintree the other week they have dropped silly points. They lost last week at Maidstone when they should have really picked up a point at least and they should be odds on to beat a Hemel side who are struggling. The home side have only managed 1 win in their last 10 games and although they ought to have won at Chippenham on Tuesday night they let in 2 careless goals against a team who were also in poor form. In their last 10 games Havant have scored in all of them and in 7 of them have scored 2 or more goals so Havant don't need any gift wrapped goals to score. This should be an away win Wealdstone v Welling Wealdstone are in a bit of a dip at the moment which isn't a surprise as they were always going to struggle to keep up their strong start. As mentioned above they deservedly lost to Billericay on Tuesday and they also lost to Oxford City on Saturday. This game though does look the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways and I think they can cover the -1 handicap. Welling have lost 5 of their last 6 games and have been conceding goals for fun as well. They have a new manager, but I am not sure how much difference that is going to make especially as they have been losing players, including two to Glenn Tamplin's Romford this week. The home side really ought to be winning this by at least 2 goals. Weymouth v Dulwich Hamlet I am hoping Dulwich are now showing the quality they should be showing and did show in August. They have scored 9 goals in their last two games putting 3 past Hampton and 6 past Braintree last Saturday. Travelling to Weymouth is obviously a step up, but Weymouth have lost 2 of their last 3 at home and Dulwich have been strong away from home all season, picking up plenty of draws in their long spell between victories. They also travelled to Havant and beat them in the FA Cup. I think this game is much closer than the bookies suggest as I would have Hamlet around 2/1 so they rate a value bet. Spennymoor v Kettering I am backing Kettering again here as they look a big price at 5/1 to win this. I have tipped up Kettering enough of late that I don't really need to repeat about them, but they won for us last Saturday. Spennymoor are in another dodgy spell and have only won 2 of their last 7 games and have lost 3 of their last 4. Granted going to Kings Lynn and having a man sent off is always going to be hard, but in my view there isn't a great deal between these two sides at the moment and given Kettering are clearly in a false league position they just shouldn't be a 5/1 chance. I would have them no bigger than 2/1 myself. Gainsborough Trinity v Witton Trinty have improved for their new manager and are now unbeaten in 5 games. Like Kettering I think they are in a false position at the moment and with Witton only picking up 1 point in their last 5 it looks a nice chance for the home side to continue their rise up the table. Barrow v FCUM I was hoping Barrow were going to put out the same side they did on Tuesday in the FA Trophy replay, but it seems it will be more like they one they put out against Ebbsfleet last Saturday. They won that game 7-0, but I think in many ways this will be a tougher game for them. For a start Barrow's main task is winning the National League so this Trophy tie is not a priority. FCUM are a much better side than Atherton so they will be in for a tougher game as well. FCUM are also in flying form winning 7 of their last 9 league games and drawing the other two. In that spell they have score 30 goals and although they have only kept one clean sheet in that spell there has to be a chance they can outscore a Barrow side in a game they will be more motivated to win. I still think a price of 21/4 is a value price about an away win. Bournemouth vs Watford The first game on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League is a 2pm GMT kick-off between Bournemouth and Watford at the Vitality Stadium. These two sides are experiencing a contrasting turn of fortunes with the home side plummeting down the league table where as the away side are seemingly in a state of resurgence as they look to move closer to safety. Bournemouth had started this season very well but things have turned sour for Eddie Howe's men. The Cherries are now in the bottom three and 1 point adrift of safety. It's been a dismal run of results that has seen them pick up just 1 win in 10 league games. Perhaps even more worrying is that the last taste of victory on home soil was back on 2nd November. In fact, since that date, they have acquired the lowest points tally of any team in the top flight. A big problem has been the lack of goals with just 0.5 goals scored on average per game over the last 14 matches. Watford have dragged themselves off the foot of the table under new manager Nigel Pearson. It seems the Hornets have finally found the right appointment after faffing about with Javier Gracia and then Quique Sanchez Flores. The club is now up to 19th and just 1 point behind their opponents heading into this match. Victory could potentially take them out of the relegation zone this weekend. It's now 4 league games without a loss. However, we need to be wary because their away form is still a problem with no victory in their last 4 league games on the road. Only Liverpool and Manchester City have earned more points than Watford since Pearson took charge. This is a tricky one because I want to back Watford to win this one but I always feel Howe has it in himself to get a result when needed. Something isn't right at Bournemouth at the moment and I probably fancy a draw more than an away win but the home side's form is that awful that I'm not sure I have enough faith to back them to take anything from their games right now. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this weekend and say it'll be a draw but I have a funny feeling I'm going to regret that. Panathinaikos vs Panionios The Greek Super League is a tough ask this weekend with a few matches that aren't offering great value. I'm going to back one of the big guns to win their game convincingly as I cover Panathinaikos versus Panionios in a 5:30pm GMT kick-off on Sunday evening from the Olympic Stadium. Can the home side break into the Championship round spots against the team that's propping up the Greek Super League table? Panathinaikos will feel more needs to be done this season to improve on last season's 8th placed finish. Giorgos Donis has led his team to 7th in the table so far but they are only 1 point outside the Championship round places and just 3 points behind 4th placed Aris. It shows the tiny margin for error in the top flight of Greek football when you consider they are also just 1 point ahead of 11th place. The third worst home record in the league doesn't make for great reading and failure to score in their last 3 matches adds concern but they're up against the worst team in the league here. Panionios are a team that look set to be in a relegation fight until the bitter end. Head coach Nikki Papavasilou's men are rock bottom of the table and 2 points behind their closest rivals. It's then a further 9 points to the next team that they can catch. It feels like the damage has already been done with only 6 points earned in 17 league matches. That includes just 1 win achieved from their 8 away league games. OK, so Panathinaikos could take a while to get going in this one. Their form isn't outstanding right now but this is the ideal game to get back to winning ways. The main issue is their lack of goals scored. They come up against a Panionios defence that has 21 goals in 8 away league games so there's a great chance to end that barren spell. I'm going to take a punt on a solid home win.
