  1. More profit on Tuesday kept things ticking over nicely. This week I have 3 bets in the National League, 1 bet in the Evo-Stik South Premier, and 2 in the FA Cup. Eastleigh v Chester There seem to be a hell of a lot of draws this season in the National League and the home side have picked up 7 points via them so far this season. That means they have won just 3 times although they have only lost twice as well. They had drawn 5 of their last 6 games prior to beat Hartlepool on Saturday. That was obviously a decent result although having seen the goals I do think Hartlepool were caused their downfall as both goals should have been prevented. Marcus Bignott got an instant response in his first game as Chester manager and they were really impressive in a 2-0 victory over Maidenhead. I think they could be a side to keep on the right side of in the short term as bookies are likely to over bigger odds than they should be and I think that has happened here. I would still make Eastleigh favs, but Chester aren't 9/2 (Bet365) shots and are well worth backing. Gateshead v Boreham Wood The fact Boreham Wood are only 5 points from the top of the table despite losing 4 of their last 6 games sums the division up nicely. Those two wins came against a Leyton Orient side who had a massive off day and Dover. Although they only lost to a penalty against Ebbsfleet last weekend, they were very much 2nd best and this is a very tough fixture for them. Gateshead should really be unbeaten at home still as they deserved something from the game they ended up losing to Aldershot recently. They have won 4 and drawn once in their other home games and only conceded 3 goals. They had no real right to get a point at Maidstone last weekend after being 2 down and a man short, but to draw 2-2 after that will have felt like a victory. I think they can pick up another 3 points at home and Marathon are best price at 38/25. Maidenhead v Guiseley I have to continue backing the away side here. Paul Cox has got 4 draws since he took over as manager and they will pick up 3 points at some point and this could be a good chance. Maidenhead have done well especially since losing Dave Tarpey, but they were poor at Chester last weekend and although they are capable of bouncing back I just think the away side are a sporting play. The last two games have seen them get draws against Wrexham and Dover and this should be an easier test than either of those two. Marathon are biggest again at 77/20 and I can't make them that big. Tiverton v St Neots The away side were one of the winning bets on Tuesday and I think they are worth backing again here. Granted their improved form of late has come at home, but hopefully they can carry the confidence of their recent wins to the other side of the country as they face a Tiverton side who have lost their last 2. Now they were two tough games in Kings Lynn and Merthyr Town, but St Neots look a good side at the moment and I just don't think they should be as big as 15/4 with Marathon to win this. Hungerford v Billericay I was very surprised to see Billericay only beat Tooting with an injury time winner last Saturday as they really should be seeing off those side with ease and they had been up until that point. A slight concern has to be that they had another man sent off, something that is in danger of becoming a habit. Even so I just wonder if they are suffering a bit from complacency given they had been winning most of their games so easily. Now they face a team from the level above for the first time and it might just concentrate the minds of the players especially given they will be desperate to get to the 1st Round of the FA Cup, where if they draw a league side at home they will almost certainly be the BBC live game. Hungerford basically had a bye into this round as Gloucester were so bad against them and this should be a tougher test. They have failed to win in their last 3 league games including losing 5-0 to Braintree last Saturday. Usually I wouldn't suggest backing a team from a lower division at 11/8 (sporting bet), but really Billericay should be odds on so on this occasion I am taking it. FA Cup 5 fold The acca didn't come off in the previous round, but again there look to be five sides who are worth putting in an acca. Chorley should get the bet off to winning start in the live game against Ashton Athletic, Newcastle Benfield should be outclassed by Kidderminster, St Albans should have a comfortable afternoon against Bridport, East Thurrock can beat Harlow and Cinderford should find Hampton too tough. Sportingbet are 6.9/1 about the five fold. 3. Everton V Burnley Burnley +1 AH @ 1.714 Matchbook Fading Everton in this match seems to be public bet of the week and that always makes me feel uneasy but the metrics really do favour Burnley here. Everton are in poor form right now, they lack a playmaker who can make the game from midfield and drive the team forward. Gueye, Schneiderlin and Davies all have tremendous energy and industry but it's hard to call any of them a playmaker. Upfront they lack a ruthless goalscorer and have to rely on inconsistent match winners such as Rooney and Sigurdsson. Not only did Everton play on Thursday in Europa League, which is usually a drain, but they contrived to draw a game they should have won and now the Goodison faithful are starting to get lary. This does not bode well for the spirit level in home matches. As for Burnley, I've been impressed with them away from home this season, they're strong defensively and make quick transitions to hit the opposition on the counter. The ELO ratings also favour Burnley in this fixture with a half goal advantage and Sean Dyche's team is either ahead or level on a lot of other important metrics. To me it seems Burnley are just the kind of dogged and difficult opposition that Everton would rather not face at this momment in time. Everton have clear quality advantage in terms of personnel and their match winners can kill you from out of nowhere but I think Burnley on the +1 line offers a decent safety net given the circumstances which surround this match. Ultimately it's a difficult game to call, Everton have a clear quality advantage but it's hard to ignore Burnley on such a big line in these circumstances. Will be interested to see how this one plays out.

  4. @StevieDay1983, Unfortunately, I love watching football but I have zero knowledge on this league. The most I know about is just Premier League but I love watching all leagues. Thanks, @Simeon Borisof for a great effort in writing these predictions. Much appreciated.

  13. Sakamoto - Almeida (Campinas Challenger) : Back Almeida @17 with bet365 Well this is very much a long shot and who knows, Sakamoto may even with this match 6-0 6-0, but I just have a feeling his odds are simply too low. His opponent Almeida is a 16 year old junior, who is nr 65 on the junior rankings. So of course he isn't a great player, but on the other hand, one can do much worse than 65. And being a 16 year playing his first senior tournament in his home country, I wont doubt he will give his all. That combined with the fact that Sakamoto is far from a top player (very very far) , I just don't see why Sakamoto should be 1,01 at the start. Maybe I will be very wrong, but I'll have small gamble on Almeida

  16. EVerton under Koeman are just a joke. These are good players, playing badly, and it is down to the manager. Koeman, de Boer, van Gaal all poor managers (with incredible agents). Playing this negative Dutch, sideways, backwards, sterile possession that does not work any more. The Netherlands have been left behind (I am Dutch), and they look useless. United under van Gaal were borderline unwatchable. Palace under de Boer, pathetic ! Fine, Koeman says it is unrealistic for EVerton to challenge for top 4 or 5. No problem, I fully agree. But, and it's a BIG BUT, they should be beating the lesser teams in the league, and the lesser teams in the Europa league. I have watched them 4 times (all TV) this season. Against Man CIty they were useless. They held out for a draw, but 10 man City were unlucky, and ran them around. Against Atalanta in the Europa league they were demolished. Could have been 5-0 at half time. That 1st half performance was one of the worst I have seen from any team this year. At Chelsea they were soundly beaten in every department. OK fair enough. IMO CHelsea are a top team. Last Thurs in Europa (at odds of 3 to 10 ffs), they can't beat the Cypriot GIANTS. Concede a ridic 88th minute goal (against 10 men), and then miss a tee'd up chance from 6 foot (free header) in injury time. Now Everton are 7 to 10 to beat Burnley !. Seriously !!! Burnley who are undefeated away against Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. And now Everton are expected to win ? Insane ! Burnley are 2.25 DOUBLE CHANCE (away win or Draw) Burnley to win is 6 (bet365)

  24. An exciting end to the league with a win for Andy Bell after his 2 other podium finishes. It's enough to make him this month's champion just bettering Alneal's 2 wins to push him back to runner up. And just to show that winning a weekly game isn't enough to guarantee you the additional spoils, Rivrd misses out on 3rd, being beaten by Teaulc's more consistent finishes. Well done all League Winners: 1st andybell666 £80 2nd alneal £50 3rd teaulc £20 To claim please email team@punterslounge.com with the following:Subject: Poker League Message Content.PL Username: PayPal Email: Prize Amount/Position: £80 (1st) / £50 (2nd) / £20 (3rd) Please note, payments are normally processed together for all our monthly competitions after the end of the month.
