Personally I think the takeout in pool betting is so high that it's almost impossible to win The percentage takeouts vary, so it's a matter of opinion, I suppose. I think it also depends on how you calculate field book percentages - which are fixed.

Yeah, 2% option should be available for everyone. I think you get some other peripheral stuff if you stay at the higher rate (free spins, sportsbook offers) but overall the 2% option should be best for most punters. 5% would seriously erode any edge you might have with your bets. Just checked; go into your account/"my Betfair rewards" and choose the Basic Plan (unless either of the other options works better for you).

Blindly backing all the players in the data set would return 10% anyway but that feels like an over-performance compared to last season's data. For goalscorer bets the equivalent numbers would be 9.6% from the actual bets and -3.59% from blindly backing every player. Simplistic view would be it's easier to make money from RL tryscorers than the goalscorers but there's a lot more data for the latter so I'm less confident in the RL returns staying at the current level. At least both systems are generating a better return than blindly backing every selection!
